We started out with another company that failed to complete our project as initially negotiated. We were to have our pool tiled and our spa tiled INSIDE and OUTSIDE. We changed the coping on the spa that was to be rounded and polished. Lastly, we were getting our pool resurfaced with a Diamond Brite or similar brand. The other pool company (Anything Wet, Inc) did not finish our job and when we questioned the work they wanted more money to continue. So we fired them and had to look for another company. After doing a better job of due diligence, we decided to hire Grace Pool Finishing, Inc. through a referral from a neighbor who happens to clean pools. Although Grace Pools did not have a rating on Angie's list or other sites, the owner Ed Grace was a gem of a human being. He's honest with you and doesn't overcharge you. We paid him half when the job started and the other half when the job was done! The other company was going to charge me for a new LED light that need a whole new wiring container. Every other company that we spoke to said the same thing. Ed said to me why don't you just change the light bulb to a new LED light (12 Volt)? I said they make that? He said sure, and it will save you money!. It sure did and my wife was happy that we didn't have to rewire the pool! It's a family run business. His sons are part of an 8-man crew that gets the job done in 2 days! The first day they had to Bond Coat the pool and remove any hollow spots. The owner Ed came the second day and he gets down and dirty with the crew. The other company forbid me to talk to the workers. Ed answered all of my questions every step of the way. When it started to rain, most other companies would've stopped, but not Grace Pools! They covered up the pool with a tarp and had a fan blowing inside of it so it looked like a circus tent! I was extremely impressed! The crew was extremely friendly and it was my pleasure to get them drinks and some pizza! Let me tell you, you can hire a large pool company that has a lot of overhead to cover their costs or you can hire a family run business that knows what they are doing!
