Marvin was able to come out on the same day we called to replace our gas hot water heater. He sent me a detailed estimate and answered my questions thoroughly. He worked diligently and installed our new water heater within a few hours. He filled out the majority of the rebate paperwork for us and took all the old parts with him. I will definitely call him for future plumbing issues.

An old copper pipe had broken at the base of the house while trying to get a hose off preparing for the hurricane - Mr. Miller came out 1st thing Monday morning, soldered on a new fixture, and also used grout to patch the hole around the pipe. He is always very responsive and does high quality work for a very reasonable price.

Mr. Miller arrived promptly, removed the old tank, and unloaded the new tank. He used a plywood ramp to get the hand truck and tank up to floor level, thus avoiding shocks to the tank. The old piping had been removed as necessary, and he connected the four pipes to the tank with new pipe and fittings, placing them with careful measurements and attention to neatness. He checked the electrical setup, and installed a 10k ohm sensor in the bottom of the tank and checked the auxillary electrical heater thermostat setting. I wanted to connect the differential controller collector sensor on the roof once I had run a calibration curve on resistance vs. temperature. That makes it easy to read the collector output temperature using a digital voltmeter. (I'm a recovering engineer in a 12-step way program, but it doesn't seem to be working.) Mr. Miller opened the water supply line valve and slowly filled the tank until the outside port was spurting water and nearly all air was out of the system. The inside faucets were purged of any residual air. He meticulously cleaned up the area, loaded the old tank and departed. He was very careful to be certain that he had done a good job and wouldn't need to return. He holds state certification #CFC029728 and has been servicing Brevard County since 1985. I found his discussions and comments very interesting and learned a lot about the installation process. He was recommended by Dave's Plumbing, who doesn't do solar. Also, the previous Lockinvar tank had a six year warranty and lasted 12 years. EDIT: problems with installation, had to valve off solar collector and drain, leaked, pipe insulation melted, access to attic restricted by rerouted pipes. Unfortunate situation, but I will check with another installer, Excel Solar, who displayed great knowledge at the recent "art & sustainability" conference at EFSC. [NO ONE ELSE!]
Description of Work: Removed existing leaky solar waterheater. Installed new Rheem 80 gallon solar water heater, shutoff valves, tempering valve, 2.1 gallon expansion tank, boiler drain, extended pressure/temperature relief pipe to outside the house, insulated piping, provided two 10k ohm sensors (thermistors).
