Original call was for an AHS warranty call on electric not working in the house (all outlets went out in home except in kitchen). They came out to the home and stated they could not do the AHS warranty work until the box was upgraded to a hundred amp breaker. I had another electrician install a hundred amp breaker (from a 70 amp) in the panel. They then came out again and stated that the entire panel needed to be upgraded and it would cost $995 plus $195 for St. Petersburg permits. Plus the original $75 service fee for coming out for the original repair of nonworking outlets. I paid the cost because I hve tenants in the home and this needed to get done as soon as possible and it had already been almost 2 weeks of them stalling. In the meantime, they have a toll free number "1-877" that is at their main office. this is the number AHS gives out. they state they do nothing from that number since I am in St. petersburg, and I will have to call their Tampa office. Their Tampa office never answers the phone. You must leave a voicemail every time. As an example, i left a voicemail at 920am, and I did not receive a call back (I called their tampa office at 1pm to complain that I still had yet to receive a call back, they tried to call the Tampa number and got the voicemail as well.) I finally received a call at 350pm that day, from an initial call at 920am. when they finally were able to do the work (a week anda haf after my initial payment) they worked to install the panel. they stated that this repair with the AHS work would be an 8hour job and they onyl did that work on Saturdays. They called me and stated they could have it done on that Friday. My tenants stated they would be there the whole day for them to come in the house as needed. I stopped by after work at 430pm, and the panel was installed, they were gone, and my tenant had left. i called their Tampa office and someone answered (first time ever) and she stated yes, they completed the work and the tenants stated it was good to go. On my way home, my tenant called and said, she did not know what was up with this company, but all they did was install the panel and leave and did not work on the outlets (the initial problem) at all. i called the Tampa office back (to ask why she said it was done and flat out lied about it and the technician talking with my tenant). had to leave a voicemail of course. I called the main office that evening (since I never received a call back) and got a hold of them. She told me that the worker was there, but his helper called in sick that day. Plus the technician did not for some reason get any of the paperwork regarding the initial problem of the electric not working in the house. i said, well I want them there asap to complete the job. She said, well it will have to be Monday because she did not think anyone could come out on Saturday, and they have to pay higher wages due to it being on the weekend. She was apologetic and also could not explain why the Tampa office would have told me what they did. She also stated that I was listed in their computer system as an "A**"... who says that? and what kind of company would do that! needless to say, I thought that was the most unprofessional thing a company could ever do. They came on that Monday and completed the work (since they refused to come on the weekend). My tenants called them back 20 minutes later, since the outlets stopped working again! They came back that day and finally fixed the problem. I called the city just to check on the cost of the permit (since I was promised that they would only charge what it cost from the city of St. Pete). The fee for the permit was only $129, so I was overcharged $66 for the permit. i called them and demanded I get a refund. The main office stated they did not deal with permits since it was St. Pete and to call the tampa office, when I called the tampa office, they said they do not set the costs, that the main office sets that price. So I called back the main line and they said to talk to Rich, but he was out of the office. Rich eventually called me and said he would refund the difference. They never would have done that unless I was proactive on this. They never sent any paperwork for the permit, etc. This company is out to make a buck and does shotty work, do not hire them. They have been reported to AHS, and AHS stated they have had several complaints about them and their work as well. you are warned.
Description of Work: Installed a new breaker panel with St. Petersburg permit, and rewired some of the outlets within the home.

Scheduling was efficient. My house was without electrical service. Service technicians misdiagnosed issue at my electric panel box and and when challenged, they refused to discuss what the issue was. Service was arranged through AHS Warranty Company. Since the electrician misdiagnosed the problem, the warranty company refused to authorize the service, then they went home for the weekend. When I called the supervisor at R&R she went home for the evening without returning my call. I called the owner of R&R she became very belligerent and refused to listen to my concern about the misdiagnosis and the warranty coverage. I then called the owner back and offered to pay her for the service and she refused to accept my call nor return my call for assistance. The electrician that came on site was very obnoxious and refused to listen to what I had to say, became insulted when I started to question him and became very argumentative. I had another licensed electrical contractor come onsite, he confirmed the misdiagnosis and repaired the issue expeditiously and at half the cost and half the time.

Overall this was a bad experience and will never use this company again.
Description of Work: On August 24 one of our breakers closed and would not re-open. We called for service and Jim from R&R Electric Allstar was sent to our house along with a helper named Kenneth. Jim told me that we suffered a surge and that it was okay now. He suggested that we could install a whole house surge protector if we paid him $75 cash. I told him that I didn’t have the cash, so he offered to take a check for $80 since he would have to pay $5 to cash the check. At my wife’s urging, I wrote the check. Jim returned from Home Depot with a little device he installed in our electrical panel. A few days later the breaker closed again. So on August 27 we had R&R Electric Allstar come to the house for the second time to make a repair on the electric panel due to a bad breaker. The electrician replaced the bad breaker. At that time, I told the electrician that the first electrician sent by R&R Electric, Jim, had charged me $80 for a whole house surge protector. The device installed was not what was represented but was in fact a cheap lightening arrestor. When the repairman reported what had happened, I got a call from Richard at R&R telling me that he didn’t want anyone like Jim representing him or his company and that he was fired. He further promised that he would take the $80 out of Jim’s pay and returned it to us. Ten days later when no check was forthcoming, I called Richard only to find that he doesn’t answer his phone. I left a message which he didn’t return. So my wife called him on her phone, a different phone number, and he answered the call. In this call he asked if the money had been returned. I said no and he called Jim a rascal because he told him to return the money. He said that he would talk to Jim. Then he said that he wanted me to call him on Monday September 10 at 8 a.m., and he would take care of it. I am convinced that I have been lied to by the man named Richard and he had no intention of firing anyone or refunding our money. This company is the one used by our home warranty company. I no longer have confidence in this business and will either request that the home warranty company send another company to my house or I will cancel my contract with the warranty company. As of September 21 there has not been a refund to the lightening arrestor even though the owner swore that the check had been cut.

At the time the first job was done our technician did not have another invoice to give me as a receipt so he hand wrote one out. We received a bill in the mail for the second visit. I called the office within two days to try to get a copy of the invoice and was told by Sandra that it would be mailed out to me. I waited one week, nothing came. I called again (twice)and was told again (by Sandra) that it had been mailed. It was not. I called again and was told to call and ask to speak to Richard if I did not get it by the end of the week. Before that Friday I received a phone call from my home warranty company explaining they would not cover the charges since it was due to "rodent damage". I asked how they came to that conclusion and was told by that a fax had been sent over from R*R Electric stating that. At this point I called and left a message asking Richard to call me back and explain how this could be-the wall had never been opened up, the old wire never seen, there was never ANY mention of anything by anyone even remotely concerning "rodents" and damage they may have done! My husband then requested a copy of the invoice from our home warranty company and it was faxed to him by them. Since then we have both tried on many occasions to speak with Richard but he has refused (oddly enough I tried to call him after the first repair to say how happy I was but he wouldn't return my call or speak with me then either)to return our calls. I know we don't have rodents and the fact that this company seems to feel no compunction about falsifying reports is greatly disappointing as well as disconcerting. I understand that sometimes mistakes happen (although I do not believe that is the case here, I believe this was done intentionally) but further exasperating this situation is the fact that they will not respond to our attempts to get this sorted out. This is the type of experience that makes me feel like a victim; I can find nothing about this company to recommend other than to stay away from it.
Description of Work: R*R Electrical came to our house to fix an outlet that was not working and had repeatedly tripped the breaker. They were sent by our home warranty company (that is another story). The technician was great, pleasant and efficient and found that there was a short in the wiring behind the wall near the outlet (within inches). The solution (as instructed by the owner, Richard) was to run a new line from the broken outlet to the outlet beyond it effectively bypassing the old wire and short. To avoid putting a hole in the wall the baseboard was popped off (by me) and the wire was dropped from the outlet through the wall (several Inches) and then into the grove between the wall and concrete slab and then back up through the wall into the next outlet. At no time was the wall opened exposing the old wire, it was disconnected from the outlet (by pulling the outlet from the wall) and the new one run exactly as our technician had been told. This seemed to take care of the problem. However, the next day the same outlet was not working so I called them back and the same technician returned and found a loose neutral wire in another outlet that was causing the outlets beyond it to not work. This was repaired also. After that we have had no more problems with the wiring.Hulett Environmental Services has done quarterly treatments on our home for the last 4-5 years. I called them when all of this took place. I wanted to see if they could find any evidence of rodents, past or present. They didn’t find any evidence, so gave me a legal document stating their findings.

It went very well. I called about 3pm and asked if they (the office) knew when I might expect the electrician, and they told me he was on his way.
Description of Work: Recommended by Old Republic home protection plan. Called and made an appointment to have an Air Conditioner outside Quick Disconnect replaced due to burnout, and do an evaluation and possible replacement of my main circuit breaker box. The appointment was for afternoon (noon to 5pm) and the electrician arrived at 3:20pm. He was very courteous, I even knew him from my church (but didn't know who he worked for or what he did), and we were both surprised. Outside quick disconnect was replaced with a new one, and he closely examined the main breaker panel and assured me it was safe and not to worry about it. He departed at 5:10pm. The cost was according to the service plan I have through Old Republic.

Dexter was very proffessional and nice. Asked about electrical problems we were having and fixed then all. I was very impressed! I would use them again- even if it wasn't through our home warranty service.
Description of Work: Our home warranty service sent them to check on our GFCI outlets that kept tripping. Not only did he replace it, he went on to replace the dimmer switch for a bedroom light and re-wired a porch light that had been cut.

When the electrician arrived, we looked at the job, and immediately disagreed as to what he was to do and what I actually wanted done. He (the electrician) said he'd have to call his supervisor. After the phone call he said that what I actally wanted would cost me another $600 which would have put the job over $1100. I refused the offer, and the technician left.
Description of Work: Left message on answering machine. Was contacted and a representative of the company came to my huse and looked at the job and wrote a proposal. We later agreed on a time/date to do the work./

They are great! Very professional. They quoted me a price that was fair. They performed the work when they said they would. They did not even need a deposit and said to wait until the first inspection was complete. I would recommend them to anyone!

Overall, it was tolerable. They were late, and difficult to get a hold of. They didn't seem to have the answers to important questions. They had to come back over and over and over to fix problems. They told us at one point the lights wouldn't work because the brand new bulbs or fixtures must all be broken. Of course they were not broken and after several attempts to find out why the lights wouldn't turn on, a new technician figured it out and fixed the problem on a later date. They came back to fix fans, light switches that didn t do anything, and outlets that were constantly flipping the breakers with minimal use. The problems we had were fixed to the bare minimum of our expectations and we were given lots of excuses.
Description of Work: We had a 1300 sq ft addition that had all new electrical lines put in during framing stage. Several lights, fans, air, outlets, kitchen outlets, and garage lighting.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED, EXCEPT THAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HERE FROM NINE TO NOON, AND I GOT A CALL AROUND 11:45 SAYING HE WOULD BE LATE. HE WENT AS FAR AS TO TELL ME WHAT I COULD DO MYSELF AND WHAT HE WOULD HAVE TO DO. HE GAVE ME A CHANCE TO BUY A PART MYSELF AND THEN HE INSTALLED IT.
