The owner came and reviewed what was needed and took specific notes. Workmen came and did the work and did it well. The ONLY problem I had was that the scraps from the end cap work, old caulk and metal wall strap, were left on the grass and I ran over the caulk with the lawnmower. It was very noisy and tough; strong enough not to break (the caulk). Unsettling.
Description of Work: Finished downspouts (3), cleaned one long gutter and repaired/replaced end cap. Fixed dryer vent.

We inquired about an estimate to fix the pan roof attached to our pool cage as it had several small leak areas. Jim came out and inspected the problem areas. He was extremely professional and courteous. He took time to call me up on the roof to show me where the problem was. The leak areas were due to a separation of the chalking used. Jim explained to me that while he would be happy to fix it and charge us for it, but that this task was well within my capability to fix without having to waste money paying him to do it. He educated on what to buy and how to apply it. He was out for a free estimate and left after educating me for free as a new homeowner. I was impressed with his integrity as he could of easily told us that it was a several hundred dollar repair. I will certainly use Jim anytime we need pool cage repair or service. Highly recommend this company.

I don't write a ton of reviews, however in this case I felt it necessary. Jim was hired to remove and replace a very VERY poorly engineered pan roof for my covered porch. This job was like a onion of problems. Each time Jim repaired something, another problem appeared. Jim's patience in dealing with this job was amazing. He not only did a great job on the actual job itself, he went above and beyond in dealing with other gutter issues, roof problems, leaks, and so on. I am extremely happy with the work done. You really cannot go wrong with these guys because, I am pretty sure, your job isn't as convoluted and difficult as mine. If Jim could fix MY jacked up roof, he can CERTAINLY handle yours. Just my 2 bits.

The wonderful experience of dealing with All My Sons began with our first call to them when Michelle answered the phone. She took all of the details over the phone and generated a sketch and a quote within a couple of days. What an amazing difference from the other vendors we contacted. They were true professionals from the start to the end of the project. Michelle explained the entire process, including the permitting required. Their quote clearly showed the additional cost of the permitting from the city. They were not only very competitive on their cost they were most definitely the most thorough. On the day of the install Jeremy and his helper showed up and made the frame on site, installed it, and then installed the 20x20 screen and a door. Everything was done according to code so when the city inspector arrived he promptly signed off on it. The thing I liked most about working with them is that they set clear expectations, kept us informed along the way, and everything went as planned and scheduled. Only wish that we could have had it installed before the love bug season!
Description of Work: They installed an aluminum frame and screen on our lanai, approximately 10'x30'.

Two employees of All My Sons came out initially and helped me design the screened enclosure I was imagining, offered options and took measurements for an estimate. After the initial visit, I worked mostly with the Office Manager, Michelle Close, the project manager on my site, Jorge Rodriquez. Michelle was very knowledgeable and methodical with planning, measurements and pricing and let me know changes in estimates each step of the way (I made a few changes along the way with doors, door placement, type of screen, etc). Michelle was able to understand my needs when I described the design I wanted (which was a little out of the ordinary screen porch design). Jorge was professional, fast, accommodating... I cannot say enough good things about him, he was a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: All My Sons Aluminium helped me design a screen enclosure to cover my back patio and extend an additional 5 feet into the back yard for a garden area inside the screen enclosure. The permit was arranged by them, a concrete footer was poured for the extended foundation, a concrete sidewalk and door pad was also poured. Three doors and one pet door was installed.

The owner Jim Elkins came out last year to provide a screen enclosure quote on our pool renovation project. We were extending our existing patio and adding a covered sitting area with a roof covering this extension area, the extension roof would attach to our house. We had concerns about water drainage and the rain run-off from our roof which has a very high pitch. The roof of the extension was going to be higher than the portion of the house it was going to be attached to. Our concerns were when using the patio and it started to rain we didn't want water coming into the patio area from the roof. Nor did we want water standing on the paver surface if the pitch of the new roof extension was not correct. Jim came up with solutions to address these concerns when most of the other screen enclosure companies really didn't seem to understand or care about our concerns. I tried to explain to them that I was going to have a buffet right below this area, so needed to ensure it didn't leak. The other screen enclosure companies either didn't have a product solution and they wanted to put screen along this area or they just felt the gutter would take care of the rain run-off. Jim suggested a solid wall extension attached to the house that was made out of the same material the new patio roof extension was from with some water-proofing to ensure no leakage would occur (it hasn't leaked and we've had some heavy rain since the installation). He also explained the way he was going to pitch the extension roof from end-to-end to ensure correct drainage when it rained, which would ensure no water would "pool" on the pavers (we've had not standing water and we've had some heavy rain since the installation). We were impressed with Jim's professionalism and his willingness to come up with a solution. While All My Sons Aluminum was not the cheapest, they were by far the best company for our project. We launched the pool renovation project at the end of Dec. 2012 and All My Sons was just a component of the project, but they were in constant communication with us throughout the process. We were having the house painted prior to the pool renovation and the painter explained he just painted the house he didn't remove things, so we needed to be sure to have items removed from the house prior to the start of the paint job. Jim gave us some pointers on how to detach the old screen enclosure from the house in order to be able to remove the old caulk line. If we hadn't done this the painters would have painted over the old caulk and that wouldn't have looked "very proper". Jim's team came and took down the existing screen enclosure and hauled it away free prior to the start of the pool renovations. The team was quiet while on property and extremely neat. When they left they also put up a construction fence around the pool to ensure nobody fell into the pool prior to the start of the pool renovation. This construction fence remained up throughout the duration of the pool renovation. During the pool renovation we had a death in the family and had to stop the project for a few weeks as we were out of state taking care of family matters. While this type of situation causes scheduling conflicts for a small business like All My Sons Aluminum, they were so accommodating. I truly appreciated their kindness, understanding and willingness to work through this situation with us. During the quote and estimate process I had mentioned to Jim that I needed 4 pet doors installed and Jim said to just get the pet doors and they would put them in. When I went to search for the specific pet door I wanted, it became clear there was nothing like it on the market. I called Michelle at All My Sons Aluminum to ask if they could make the pet doors. I explained that I didn't want the pet doors to stick out, I didn't want them to be made of a flap mechanism nor did I want them to be a different color than the screen enclosure. I told Michelle the approximate measurements I was looking for and sent her an email with some basic suggestions (pics of window screens that are flush with the window and slide back and forth). Michelle said she was sure they could come up with something. She said she would get with Jim to strategize and then get back with me. Within just a few days she emailed me a solution, with pics, and the price associated with the solution. I was thrilled with what they came up with, they have worked beautifully and are so "un-noticeable" as they blend into the screen enclosure so well. My cats, who have never used a pet door, took to them right away! During the actually construction of the screen enclosure Jim saw something in the prints the engineer had sent over that didn't seem to make sense regarding the positioning of one of our screened doors, so he asked us if this was our intention. We told him it was not and he made the nec'y modifications. If Jim wasn't so thorough we would have had the door in the wrong place. We truly appreciated his willingness to address something that didn't appear to make sense as opposed some contractors that just "build-to-print". While the screen enclosure was being put up we spoke to Jim about the best way to hang blinds/curtains from the new patio extension without stressing the main structure. Jim came up with the solution of placing a chair rail up high to hang the blinds/curtains from in order to not stress the main structure. That way if for some reason the blinds/curtains became to heavy over time it wouldn't strain the main screen enclosure structure. The chair rail would be put up in sections with seamless supports on each section. This solution could allow the chair rail to bear the distributed weight better than just attaching the blinds/curtains to the main structure. Jim said Michelle would send over a quote and Michelle had it to us the next day. The quote was very reasonable, we agreed with the pricing and Michelle placed the order. The team came back in a matter of day to add the chair rail once it arrived. Since the roof has a pitch for water drainage the rail placement, when level, could look peculiar. Jeremy was going to just hang it starting at the lowest point and worked from there, but he came to the door to ask me to come look at it. I am so glad he did. The pitch is not noticeable because the placement we agreed upon made all the difference in the world visually. Prior to the arrival of the chair rail for the blinds/curtains one of the screen doors wasn't closing correctly. It had been closing and then it just started catching without a complete fastening. When I called Michelle she said she would have Jeremy come out and fixed it. He did within a few days. Jeremy said if it still does it he would come back out and adjust it some more, but that he'd rather take off a little at a time as opposed to too much all at once. It was better but it was still catching just a bit and when I called Michelle she said one of the guys would re-adjust it when they came out to put up the chair rail, which they did very courteously. It has been fine ever since. The team is polite, knowledgeable. responsive and efficient! I'd use them again, have recommended them to a few of my neighbors and have given their contact info to my local Pinch-A-Penny.
Description of Work: All My Sons Aluminum built a covered roof area on my patio extension which included a "high chair rail" for hanging outdoor blinds/curtains, added a covered roof onto another area that had previously been a wasted space on my patio, custom built 4 unique pet doors and built a screen enclosure over the entire patio area.

From start to finish, we couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience. Our initial call was answered by Michelle, who was very pleasant and courteous and scheduled us for an estimate. The owner, Jim, arrived on a Friday morning as scheduled to assess the job. After discussing our needs, looking at the home and taking some measurements, Jim made suggestions as to where to place the downspouts and described how the job would be completed, the materials that they would use and how long the job would take. Jim takes the time to listen to your needs and to answer any questions you might have. Jim's visit took about 25 - 30 minutes and by the following Monday, we had a completed proposal via email. I should note that we had previously used All My Sons Aluminum to screen in our lanai. We were so pleased with the job that they did on the lanai, they were the first company we called when we decided to have gutters installed. We felt that the price Jim quoted was very fair, so we did not solicit quotes from any other firms. Jim's crew arrived as scheduled in the morning to do the installation. They got right to work, were very careful of our home and the shrubs in the front of the porch, and completed the job by early afternoon. They cleaned up after the job was completed and left no trace of their being here except for the very nicely installed gutters and downspouts.
Description of Work: Installed 6" white aluminum rain gutters on our new home. Two sections in front, one over the two car garage and one around the front porch. In the rear, a section was installed around the screened lanai and breakfast room. Included approximately 133 linear feet of gutter and four downspouts.

I needed the enclosure completed within very tight time frames since I was having a very large party at the house in three weeks. To expedite things, the office manager personally drove to the town hall to get the permit. As a result, they were able to get the permits and erect the new pool enclosure in about three weeks. This included digging out a new 10X 10 foot area and pouring concrete to extend the size of my pool area. The results exceeded my expectations. I would recommend All My Sons without reservation.
Description of Work: I had all my sons tear down my old pool enclosure and erect a new one. Their price was the lowest, but price is only one element. I looked for professionalism and punctuality.

During the time of estimation it was agreed that workman will check and strengthen the joints by putting extra fasteners as necessary. But when the workmen came he said only two places he will put the fasteners. He did check other places which was loose but did not had the equipment to reach those places. So now I have to call another vendor. Very disappointing. Also the workmen were in such a rush.

Response from All My Sons Aluminum
I apologize for any misunderstandings at the time of estimate, please let me address your statements. My immediate recommendations for strengthening the enclosure, including add front wall upright bracing as there are none, were declined as the property is up for sale but I did say at the time of rescreen service the contractor would evaluate the enclosure from a higher viewpoint on his ladder and quote any additional minor recommendations, such as add additional fasteners, that might be in your budget. The additional fasteners quoted were in the roof bracing over the pool and it is true we did not arrive with walkboards to work over the pool as it was not necessary in the original work order. The contractor quoted you for this service along with rescreen of additional panels he recommended you replace. You declined additional panels and did not agree to schedule the wind bracing service. We assumed you chose to sell the enclosure as is since you did not call to schedule any further repairs. I apologize if you feel the contractor, the owner of the company, was in a rush. He feels you must be refering to him not completing all the other small other services you requested at no extra charge, these 2 for example: replace more fasteners & install a vinyl soffit piece in your eave you had bought for self repair. He did take the time to tell you that you incorrectly purchased vinyl piece which didnt't match and shouldn't be installed and gave you the name to 2 supply houses for purchase a small section of matching aluminum soffit. He also at no extra did add fasteners in the other 2 roof braces near the original 2 over the solid deck and accessible at the time with our ladders. Lastly, this pricing is well below the average cost for your service so it is very sad that you feel you did not get the full value of your $334 which included all these services (material, labor, travel): install 2 full door hardwares (jamb plate, handles inside/outside, hydraulic pump, bottom bugsweep), install 1 keylock in 1 of the outside handles, square up the loose door jamb and reanchor and reanchor the base plate in panel next to door, reattach 2 corner roof braces you originally requested over the solid deck area, rescreen 1 edge roof panel, rescreen 7 wall panels all 18/14 Phifer screening. Again, I apologize you feel unsatisfied. I sincerely wish you would have called me to discuss any issues or make them known to the contractor at time of service who was surprised to read your review as was I. Take care and good luck with the sale. Michelle @ All My Sons Aluminum.

Our sun room roof was leaking. All my Sons came out and gave me an estimate. I did have to wait a few weeks because we had so much rain for awhile which I'm sure put them on a busy, tight schedule. This morning Jim came out and fixed the leaking roof. He's very knowledgeable and explained everything he found and what he did. I would totally use them again and highly recommend them to anyone needing to use their services. This was also the first time using Angie's List and I'm happy with that experience as well. Thank you

I called all my sons for a free quote. I spoke to Michelle the office mgr. who was very nice and professional. She immidiatelmy scheduled my appt. Jim, the owner came by and was so polite. We discussed in detail what I wanted done and he explained what he could do to make that happen. Jim explained what would take place from start to finish. Including getting permits before job could even commence. (two other quotes and nobody mentioned any permits needed.) I decided to go with them and not once have I regretted it. The work was started and finished as scheduled. Give or take a day or two due to weather. My back yard and pool screen enclosure might seem a bit pricy to most but you should see how huge my yard is. It looks beautiful now. The screen is so well put together and so well reinforced. I have no doubt that it will handle well in the worst weather. I love my back yard. As for Jim and his sons, well they were just the nicest guys and always so polite. I would use them again for other projects and I would recommend to anyone. Jim, thanks so much for the great job you did.

We solicited quotes from three companies. Two companies sent representatives to discuss the project with us, take measurements and provide a quotation. The third company provided a quotation from measurments that we provided by email. The representative from All My Sons Aluminum, the owner, Jim, took time to listen to our needs, answer our questions and to thoroughly explain the entire process, including getting the necessary approval from our HOA and the permits from the city. He provided a quote that included the permit costs. The other two companies did not mention permits until we asked about them. One stated that the permit costs were included, while the other indicated that a permit was not needed. After contacting our city construction office, we found that a permit was indeed required. Because of his willingness to spend time to explain everything and his knowledge about the HOA approval and permitting process, we selected All My Sons to do the work and we were not disappointed. All My Sons provided all of the necessary documentation and drawings needed to get HOA approval and to get the permits from the city. They were very prompt in providing this information and also took care of submitting the permit application to the city. Once the permit was approved, MIchelle, their office person, called to schedule the installation. Jim and his co-worker showed up as scheduled, told us how long the job would take and completed the work on time. They thoroughly cleaned up the work area and scheduled the city inspector to conduct the final inspection. Everyone we had contact with at All My Sons Aluminum was pleasant, personable and very customer service oriented. We were and continue to be very pleased with the work performed by All My Sons Aluminum and with our overall experience with this company.

Description of Work: We used All My Sons Aluminum for roof repair. We last used their services in July. They took a couple of hours to do the job. We had a leak in our existing aluminum roof in our back porch. They did a repair on the back screen and porch roof. They also did the capping of the ends because the people who put the roof in did not cap off the ends. It’s an insulated roof and they did not cap off the roof. So they came in and capped that off for us.

It took two days to complete (with afternoon thunderstorm delays included). They used a 3-man crew and were thorough. Any issues that were brought up were promptly addressed.
Description of Work: My 20 year old screen enclosure had a 4" super gutter that had about 1/3 of the length (~20') come slightly loose from the house. This allowed water between the gutter and fascia during lights rains. Also, the gutter was too narrow and hung to low to begin with so when it did rain hard most of the water went over it. Since the gutter was structurally supporting the gable screen enclosure and 1/3 of the bolts were loose from the house we feared a storm would fully detach and collapse the enclosure. All My Sons provided the most competitive quote out of 3 quotes in total and were very knowledgeable and clearly outlined the problems with the existing build and how they would go about fixing it. The work they performed was supporting the existing aluminum pool enclosure trusses, removing the 4" super gutter in place, cutting 3" off each truss, and then putting in a new larger 7" super gutter at the proper height and reattaching the trusses to the new gutter, along with the various tasks associated with that work that included re fabricating some complex corner-work. Also, they were able to re-use the screen on the ceiling panels without issue.

I'm VERY satisfied; 'nuff said!!
Description of Work: I recently contracted with All My Sons Aluminum, to construct a screened enclosure over a back porch. The company was very professional throughout the procedure, e-mailing me all the needed documents, explaining their purposes, where to sign, what to return to them, etc. The company took care of acquiring the needed building permit, and explained to me what I should submit to my home insurance company for coverage purposes. The father and son team arrived as scheduled, on time, and went to work promptly. Except for their lunch break, and waiting out a sudden thunderstorm in another screened enclosure attached to my house, they worked deliberately and thoroughly, taking the time to do the job right. They even resplined the screening on the existing screened enclosure as part of the job; they connected the new screened enclosure to the old one. The new enclosure has passed the town inspection, and is a welcome addition to my house. I'm happy to recommend All My Sons Aluminum, and would definitely hire them again.

We contacted several companies for an estimate to screen-in our existing concrete patio. All My Sons came in as one of the lowest estimates and their reviews on the BBB and other websites were very good. The fact that they were bonded and insured put them over the top and we chose them for our small project. They came out and completed the job on the date they promised and finished by the end of the day. The employee explained every step of the process they were completing and answered all of our questions. He also explained the warranty. About 9 months later we noticed a small leak in the roof there the patio attached to the home. We contacted All My Sons and they came out to fix it. A few weeks later we noticed the roof still leaking. They came out again and fixed it for good this time. Both of those services were completed on time and at no charge to us. They were courteous and helpful throughout the entire process. I'd definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Added a screen-in porch to existing concrete slab.

We highly recommend Mr Elkins. He estimated the job would take three days, which it did exactly. Mr Elkins and his two sons arrived early, worked late and worked hard the entire day. They were quiet, and did not interfere with our household routine. He kept us updated and discussed any problem spots in the roof as the project progressed. Our screen enclosure is now rebuilt according to building code. It is also stronger than before. He cleaned up the work area so well, a visitor would never guess that major construction had taken place. We will definitely ask All My Sons Aluminum to return to replace our gutters after the roofing is completed. If you have a project that requires aluminum know-how, gutter work, screen enclosures or addition then please give Jim Elkins a call. It is old fashioned service that is hard to find.
Description of Work: When our screen enclosure over the pool was built in 1989, it had been attached to the roof of the house. This is no longer accepted according to building code. In order to have the roof reshingled, the enclosure had to be detached from the house, cut back and reattached to a super gutter. We did not need a new enclosure because the existing structure is still strong. However we did not want the existing structure to collapse in the process of detaching it from the house. In fact we even had some contractors refuse to consider the project. We accepted All My Sons Aluminum because he was the most knowledgeable, he discussed the work plan so we could easily understand what it included, his price was fair and his overall professionalism was outstanding..

They came out to review the problem and gave us recommendations for items that we can do ourselves. They then recommended a roofer who would be better able to handle the job if the our efforts didn't work.
