Ron Voyles misdiagnosed the problem with our washing machine claiming it needed a new motherboard charged us 125.00 for a service call and said it was going to cost us over 500.00 and that was just a start. A new machine was $510. We ended up fixing it ourselves with help from Whirlpool with $27 actuator switch . Ron then agreed to go half and reimburse us on the misdiagnosed service call verbally agreed to and took credit card info to give to his wife/ secretary / partner She refused to reimburse us for half the charge. It must be nice to collect $125 and not need any tools any parts or any returns be careful they just condemn the appliance take their $125 service call do nothing and say goodbye. I would not recommend him for anything at all. Be cautious when hiring this company or better yet don’t

Ron worked hard to repair. Had to replace the "brain box" and knob. Knob not sold separately, so he found a used one and installed it. Dryer works the way it should. The billing is somewhat difficult to understand and not sure we were charged correctly. even though they believe we were. Not blaming anyone, just hard to understand explanation of billing. Have used them before and work is more than acceptable.

He gave conflicting opinions as to the cost advantage of repair over replacement. The "diagnosis" and opinion as to repair/replacement took about 5 minutes and could've been provided with just a phone call since he was able to make his diagnosis without even looking at the appliance. It was a wasted $90.00.
Description of Work: Listened to symptoms relating to built-in microwave problem (the microwave is part of a microwave/oven combination) and rendered diagnosis without even looking at the microwave.

Description of Work: We have a Bosch dishwasher and it needed a new control board. Unlike the last time we used Voyles, they couldn't/ didn't order the part in a timely manner and after WEEKS and repeated phone calls on my part that were never answered, my dishwasher was fixed. It works fine, but what a hassle.

2014I asked him to come to look at washer and dryer He looked at washer about 10 minutes and said it needed a new computer and I would have to give him $300 up front. He said the part would be here in a few days. Almost 4 weeks later the part came in. The whole time he was very unhelpful and when part came in I had to wait more days because he had to find time to fit me in!.When he put it in it didn't work. Another computer code came up and he now said it needed a door latch and he would have to send away for it. This time I waited two and a half weeks. When he put it in he still couldn't get it started and said the part must have been broken and he needed to send out for another one. I asked him if there wasn't another place to get a part and he said no he had asked everyone. While he was there I called Sears and they told me they could overnight any part I needed!! I told him and he left in a huff saying he "had had it" with the washer and he wanted to go home because it was Friday> He acted like it was my fault. The first time he came I asked him if he could fix the squeel in the dryer. He said it was "no big deal" and it just neededd to be oiled but he never did it. Each time he came I asked him if he could look at it but he always was too frustrated with the washer and it never got done. Voyles used to have top marks as far as products and service. I don't know what happened but I think he needs to retire.

Well, we have been to the laundormate for 3 months or so, spend a little money, NEVER gotta a call from these people EVER saying, sorry we haven't got the part or we just can't fix this thing. And THEY TELL US they can fix it or that they will fix it. I don't believe it.
Description of Work: The first time he came he changed a part on my washer and charged me 150.00; it did not fix or help the problem at all. The repairman came about a month later and supposedly "put in a new computer/ brain" but it did not fix or help the problem at all. The repairman came back and told me, "that part I put in it last time was bad." So now, we have been waiting for the NEW computer/brain part to be "released" because I guess it's on back order or they have to make it. Whatever.

Prompt, curteous, professional!
Description of Work: My refrigerator heated up to 89degrees! Voles quickly determined the computer board needed to be reset. They could have sold me a new board but asked me to call after the weekend to see how it did. Advised me NOT to replace at this time which saved mea ton of $$$. To date, refrigerator has been fine. PS THE first time I used VOYLES they replaced an ice maker on the same refrig. Excellent service that time, too( about a year ago)...

The bottom line: it took almost 6 weeks to fix the problem that could have been solved in two to three weeks. It seems that the company needs more personnel. I can not blame them for not willing to hire extra people but then they should come up with a better way of tracking their service requests and returning calls.
Description of Work: My Bosh dishwasher had a following problem. When completing the cycle it was not able to finish it and basically was stuck at the very end of the cycle. I called the company on April 5th and the service rep was able to take a look at the dishwasher. ($75 charge for service visit). I must say that was a very prompt response on his part! The technician told me that I am using too much of the rinse detergent. As a result dishwasher, which has a sensor, needs more time to rinse the dishes. The technician suggested to wait and see whether problem will correct itself when all the rinse agent will be used. He told me that another reason for this problem may be because the controller board ($120) of the dishwasher has gone bad. After a week the problem still persisted. I called the company and asked to go ahead with the ordering of the controller board. After a week of phone tag game I was told that the controller has to be prepaid. I provided my credit card number. I was told that it will take 7-10 business days to receive the part. After ten business days passed nothing happened and I paid a visit to the company on May 7th. I was assured that the part will be received by Wednesday next week (May 12th). Nobody from the company called me neither on Wednesday nor on Thursday. On Friday May 14th I called the company and technician called me back and told me that he will be able to install the part the same day around 2:00. He did so ($34) and at this point the dishwasher seems to be working properly.

Good work, trustworthy. It seemed to take a while for the part to be ordered, but they came out the same day as UPS delivered the part to them, installed the part, and viola, I was able to dry clothes again!

We bought an LG refrigerator that quit working 13 months after we bought it. Out of its 12 month warranty by a month. Stopped in at Voyles to talk to them and schedule a service call. The tech asked me to explain the problem, they then sold me a part to try before scheduling a service call. It turns out that there are major problems with this model refrigerator and it will need expensive work done to it and even then may not work for long. Voyles tech told us to think long and hard before putting too much money into this refrigerator, I'm not sure I've ever had a business try and talk me out of spending a great deal of money with them.
Description of Work: Sold me a part that I could easily install myself to see if that would fix the problem before I went to the expense of paying for a service visit.

What more can I say? The phone tip fixed the range!
Description of Work: My Jenn Aire dual fuel range burner igniters began popping and would not stop. I called Voyles. A lady was going to arrange a service trip but the service man got on the phone for more details and asked me to describe my problem. He thought water may have splashed into the burner controls and suggested I try a hair dryer on them for a few minutes before scheduling them for a repair. I did this and the problem was solved at no cost to me! Voyles could just as easily made the trip, solved the problem and presented a bill that I would have paid without protest. I trust these folks now.

The technician was very prompt. Said he'd be there in 30 minutes and was there right on time. He diagnosed the problem on the washer, had the part in his truck, replaced it, and was heading out the door in 20 minutes. He was very professional the entire time. A pleasure to work with.
