UF Mover Guys

Horrible to put in simply. BASIC TL;DR: If you would be concerned about a knife sticking straight up in a box that someone you care about could easily stab themselves on you SHOULD NOT hire UF mover guys. If you care about your stuff, have any antiques/family heirlooms, or own any art DO NOT hire UF Mover Guys. I have tried to reach someone from UF Mover Guys over phone for 12 days, with no return calls. Unfortunately, the company has left a sour taste in my mouth. I paid for a full service pack and move, meaning the movers pack EVERYTHING and move it all to the new home. I posted on Facebook originally asking for movers to be suggested, and UF Mover Guys were suggested over and over. So, I went with it. I now know I made the wrong choice. I do not know if the service has changed over time, or if it is due to some other factor. I got an email yesterday saying the only damage they will allow us to have covered will be two frames (from degrees). I would like to start by saying Alex was amazing and professional. I think there was likely a good faith effort to move and pack things appropriately. Things get broken when people move. That is why, at least I, make sure I am hiring mover with insurance to cover damages. I have reached out by phone multiple times requesting to be contacted by someone who can assist. Everyone who has answered the phone has been kind and professional – but also unable to assist. Most of the time I reach the answering services who says they will forward my message. The other times I have reached other staff who say they will contact a manager to reach out to me. During my move multiple items got damaged. At the time I wasn’t super worried, things happen…. This is why I hired licensed and insured movers… right????? Guess not. They refused to cover most of the damage. Actually, only offering to cover the cost of two degree frames, minus the $100 deductible you must pay out of pocket. When moving our art, they stacked multiple pieces and wrapped them in a blanket. They did not put anything between the pieces of art. This may have been because they were running low on blankets. At this point I would like to remind you – we paid for a full-service move including “all materials to pack”. My expectation would be that they would use what any mover I have ever had used… artwork boxes. The way they packed and moved caused ALL of the art they moved to have damaged frames. Every single piece of art I own now has scratches or dings (excluding two pieces that were still in the protective wrapping from the framing store). We were told we will not be compensated in any way this damage (other than the two frames of the eight plus pieces). Next, lets move on to electronics. TVs and computer monitors. There are of course special boxes for moving flat screen TVs and other screens. None were used in our move. Instead, monitors were moved with a blanket slung over them not secured in any way. We have not turned them all on yet, as we haven’t unpacked all the power cords yet, but the one I did turn on… part of the screen is now dead. UF Mover Guys were informed – we were told we will not be compensated in any way for this damage. The next thing we should address is furniture and glass items. My dresser had bottles of perfume on top. The movers “scoop[ed] everything into the drawer” per UF Mover Guys. When I paid for a full pack and move I expected our dresser would be emptied and packed in to boxes, and that the breakable things would be wrapped in some way. Instead I found a dresser with random bottles of perfume and other things shoved in to all the drawers, with three of the six drawers with liquids and broken glass in them. We were told we will not be compensated in any way for this damage. Do you care about your work supplies? Have a stamp collection you keep in a drawer? Have fun mementos on your desk? How about glass bottles in your desk drawers of ink? I hope not… because UF Mover Guys won’t unpack those drawers either. Instead, they will move them full of fragile things completely unprotected. We were told we will not be compensated in any way for related damage. Do you think dishes and other ceramic things should be wrapped up when they are moved? If so you might not want to hire UF Mover Guys. My ceramic set was packed in a box loose with metal pans and a lid rack. We were told we will not be compensated in any way for this damage. Do you have family members who could be hurt by a sharp knife? Who might not expect a sharp knife to be point up in a box? I wouldn’t have expected it. UF Mover Guys packed a SHARP knife standing point up in our box. I am only glad I found the box, not my grandma when she was helping up-pack, someone could have been seriously injured. Did UF Mover Guys seem to care or even comment on this when I emailed them about this? NO. We were told we will not be compensated in any way for damaged caused by the knifes to our other things. Those sharp knifes I found sticking up, were sitting under non-stick cookware, the cookware was turned down with the knife tips pointing up in to the pans. Which as everyone know, scratched non-stick pans can cause cancer if cooked in, it is unsafe to use once damaged. Also a steak knife was sticking up in to one of my nice Zwilling ceramic pans. The knife chipped it. We were told we will not be compensated in any way for this damage. I have a family heirloom wood table. My table was loaded in the truck with zero protection. As they brought it out of the house both me and my partner commented on how important the table was to both me and my family. The table was loaded without any protection and put on its side. The movers continued to push it against the floor of the truck as I watched and once again asked them to please be careful. Once we got to the house the movers had trouble getting the table through the door repeatedly scraping it on the door frame as I once again asked them to please be careful with it. I even commented on the current damage to the table of a drink ring from a cup I made when I was a child that my family has never forgiven. We were told we will not be compensated in any way for this damage. These are the large things that were damaged that we contacted UF Mover Guys about. We did not ask for any compensation for broken plates, chipped bowls, or any of the small damages we found. I emailed about my art, my computer, my dresser, my nice pans and most importantly my table. Unfortunately as UF Mover Guys said we can provide compensation for the picture frames only, offering compensation for only two of the frames. I would not suggest anyone use this business. P.S. “Two Gainesville men were cited by the state for operating moving businesses without proper licensing, according to the office of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson. Charged with operating an unregistered moving company were Jordan Seth Speisman, 28, owner of UF Mover Guys in Gainesville” per The Gainesville Sun the local newspaper. I honestly wonder if our move was done with the proper licensing now… or if that is part of the reason they are refusing to let us put in more claims against the insurance policy we paid for with our move.

We recently had a local residential move and HIGHLY recommend UF Mover Guys. We've moved many times and this was the best company and team experience. Their attention to details was superb. They made sure we were happy with the exact placement of furniture before they left, picked up all debris, showed up on time, listened to and addressed our concerns and requests and treated our belongings with care. When booking our move date we were well informed of what to expect and the price estimate was good and very close to the actual time. Moving is tiring and a bit stressful and each team member made us feel that they were they to help with our move, not just do a job and leave. We will be using them again soon to move our large elliptical because we are confident they will not damage our newly laid hardwood floors. Impressive company with good people, they earned the 5 stars!

Very professional, experienced technicians. Very thorough packing. Move involved many very heavy objects. No breakage or loss encountered. Have used them twice with same excellent results.

Fantastic. Crew chief knew exactly what needed to be done and added crew when my move had unexpected packing issues. All were friendly & polite. Worth paying for their services. Any changes to my estimate were communicated immediately. Rate per hour slides with nbr of movers and complexity of job. Outstanding job!

Very Smooth! Austin was very professional and courteous and managed his crews well. All crew members were polite and focused on their job. Overall the move went very well and I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional movers! The only opportunities for improvement would be to better label all packed boxes and to make sure everyone follows the staging plan for boxes after unloading. Overall a great experience and my wife and I enjoyed working with Austin and all his crew members!

The guys did a wonderful job. Kind, courteous and they were patient with our chaotic move. We were very impressed. And they made carrying that furniture look so easy! Very well done!

It was great. They called ahead to let me know when they were coming and they showed up as promised, They two guys were both professional and extremely nice, and they both wore masks the entire time which was extremely appreciated. I had packed my stuff and they were able to get it all packed within a few minutes. My new place is mainly on the third floor with only stairs and a small entry and they were able to get it all in with no problem. Even with all the stuff and stairs they dealt with that day, they both were still upbeat during it all. Greatly appreciated all their hard work and would easily go with them again.

Our experience with UF Mover Guys was A+. They arrived on time and accurately accounted for the time they spent moving our belongings. I was most impressed by how meticulously they wrapped each piece of furniture and took great care to not bump into any walls. Additionally, they were extremely respectful in their communication, even adding in some mild humor & sarcasm - which we greatly appreciated. Excellent! Sometimes you get nervous with pay by the hour, but these guys were hard workers and never slacked at all! Well worth the money spent.

UF Mover Guys were there for me this week on very short notice (next day) with super service and very competent and nice staff.

I can't say enough good things about UF Mover Guys and Austin and Seth our movers! I chose UF Mover Guys to relocate because of their excellent pricing and quick delivery (next day-out of state). Austin and Seth Packed our entire home and did such a fantastic job. Everything arrived safe and sound and all of our items were so well labeled and organized. They really went above and beyond during the entire process and throughout the move they were friendly, helpful and professional.

The two movers, Prue and Armani were exceptional and considerate. I was nervous about moving my handmade cat tree and they handled it carefully. Worth the extra money, i would recommend UF Mover guys to anyone.

UF Mover Guys were amazing. They were on time, completely professional, and super strong. My built in refrigerator is huge. They took the old broken one out and disposed of it, and they moved the new one from our garage to inside my kitchen. The fridges are about 80 inch tall, 4 feet wide, and very heavy. The two guys that moved them were wonderful and I would definitely want to hire them again for any moving job.

The 2 workers who showed up were respectful and really hustled. There was a misunderstanding regarding the size of the move but it was cleared up and the job was completed in a timely and professional manner. I would definitely recommend and use again.

If you are in need of movers anywhere in the north central Florida area you only need to make one contact. The UF Mover Guys. On time, extremely professional and beyond helpful and accommodating. From our first contact until Jessie and his team departed our new home I can't give him and his team enough praise. Best movers we ever had. One leg was broken on a chest of drawers and they brought it back to the shop to be repaired at no cost. Service doesn't get better than this.

UF Mover Guys recently moved our entire home. Our contents were three full bedrooms, kitchen, living and dining, garage and shed. It was a very big move. Not one item was damaged in the move, which amazed us. The movers themselves were three very athletic young men and they were extremely respectful to us and our belongings. The movers were able to take apart and put back together numerous household items (such as various types of bed frames) with skill and competence. We appreciated their approach on how they prepare various items before placing that item in the truck. For example, to prep our leather couch, they first wrapped the couch in blankets and then wrapped plastic wrap tightly around the entire couch (like 5-10 wraps of the plastic, kind of like heavy duty Saran Wrap). We were distressed about a box that went missing as the box contained some items that were family heirlooms. Brad and Jordan (company leaders) scoured their premises and spoke with the gentleman that had moved us; they also have a process where before the truck leaves the premises, pictures are taken of the truck being empty and they verified the truck was empty before leaving our new home. Well, as it turns out, the same day we were going to ask about how to go about making a claim we found the box....in our house!! Both Brad and Jordan were empathetic throughout this episode and we truly appreciate them. This was our second move in less than a year and we can say that our experience with UF Mover Guys was much better than the first company that moved us. Comparatively, UF Mover Guys were so much more organized, competent, respectful and just plain 'ol nice. We highly recommend them due to our experience.

UF Movers Jesse and Garrett were courteous, professional, on time and respectfully wore face masks for the Covid-19 issue. They wrapped all of my antique furniture and art and carefully packed everything tightly in the Pods so it would not shift during transport. I have moved over 50 times in my 76 years and UF Movers made it easy. I highly recommend them.

It went great, thanks! Your guys were absolutely great in every way, professional, efficient, and got the job done in good time, without one single breakage. The large couch did not fit easily in the stairwell, but they got it done. I was really pleased that everything I was 'sold', was delivered, and then some!! I will gladly recommend your company.
