 + -1 moreWe had a water heater replacement done a few years back and recently discovered by an inspector that it was neither done to code nor was the permit pulled. When calling them, the office customer service became dishonest and evasive saying things like "the code changes all the time" and "we're a licensed company so we don't need permits." Now they are asking us to pay again to pull the permit and fix the code violation. Apparently the customer service cannot reach their boss/owner even after a week.

 + -1 moreSunshine plumbing called back promptly and sent out Nate. He had to dig out sand from around our water meter to turn off the supply. Our water heater was an unusual size because of where it was located. Their office was able to procure a similar unit and Nate replaced the unit and added a shutoff valve. He did a beautiful job and was very professional and friendly

Description of Work: I own several apartment complexes. I had a plumbing issue in one of my units. I hired Sunshine Plumbing to go out and assess the problem. On 4/17/2017 they sent C. Kuhn out to the unit to make the assessment. He recommended to replace the shower valve. Based on their recommendation, I authorized the job to be done. On 4/24/2017 they sent B. Beyer out to do the work. According to Beyer, the tenant told him the work did not need to be done. Beyer did not go in and inspect the bathroom to confirm if the work had been done. I was not called by Sunshine Plumbing or Beyer to confirm that the work had been done. Beyer left without the work being done. I followed up with Sunshine Plumbing to see if the work had been done that afternoon. I was informed that Beyer was told the above. I told Sunshine the work had NOT been done and that they were supposed to do it. I told them the I was the only one authorized to say whether the work was done or not. Mistakes happen, I get it... no problem... keep reading 4/25/2017 they send another guy out to do the job (C. Bryan). Bryan determines that the 1st recommendation by C. Kuhn was incorrect and that, in fact, the entire wall needed replacing. C. Bryan was correct, C. Kuhn, through his incompetency, had misdiagnosed the scope of the job. Ok, fine... mistakes happen, but by this time I lost confidence that they were competent. Sunshine Plumbing charged me a $92 "service call" fee for their guy going out on 4/24 and another "service call" fee for their guy going out on 4/25. I ended up paying THREE service call fees for a total of $276 and no work done. The reason for Three service calls were due to their incompetence. I am a fair person and would have no issue paying the one service call fee. Oh! and I received the invoice for all this today, 7/10/2017. So apparently their back-office is just as incompetent.

 + 0 moreServiceman (NATE) ran 22 feet of line clearing cable through roof access/ vent to clear clogged kitchen sink. Work was done promptly and at a decent price (for a weekend trip) as compared to other service companies in town. NATE was easy to talk with, professional, and completed the work promptly. Would recommend Sunshine Plumbing and Gas again, for the every two year or so drain snaking we will no doubt need again saomeday.
Description of Work: On Saturday afternoon (3/25/2017): Had clogged kitchen sink that was backing up with water and sludge/ grease. We needed the line cleared to restore proper drainage.

He promised to retrain his staff, and assured me I would not be charged, and apologized sincerely. I was impressed with the time he took to address my concerns, and with the quality of the customer service, even if my original experience with the company wasn't great. My reservations have been resolved fully.

 + -1 moreI called Sunshine in total desperation. I needed a plumber- like yesterday! We are doing a remodel of two bathrooms that involves replacing the tile tub and tile/marble shower with cultured marble. It was our responsibility to have the drains set up to receive the cultured marble pans. So, I had called a plumbing company that we had used several times in the past (ASAP) to come and take care of it. They were scheduled to come out Monday morning and the pans were set up to be installed on Monday afternoon. I had every reason to expect a pleasant experience, BUT the guy that ASAP plumbing sent was DRUNK! And the boss said he would come out to fix it, but he didn't! I waited. And waited. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking.... When I gave up on the ASAP boss, I called a couple of other plumbing companies. The first said they were booked, but Sunshine was very pleasant and, although they were also busy, sent a guy right out to look at it. Yay. He was followed by a plumber named Johnny, who was cheerful, professional, capable and SOBER. What a treat! The price they charged was fair. At that point they could have charged me a lot more, and I wouldn't have flinched. I will surely use them again.

 + -1 moreIt went very well! Better water pressure and found ways to correct and change the faucet to make the water come out and did minimal damage to my tile that was hidden behind a Smitty plate. They found a better way to release the water without breaking down walls and my wall tiles. They saved me money of other repairs!
Description of Work: They took out my old delta cartridge which out in pieces and found a way to flush out what was clinging the water from coming through the new cartridge replaced with a new faucet and added a plate to hide some of the broken tile they had to remove giving me much better water pressure than what I had. I,m very happy with there wo.

 + -1 moreUpon installing a new refrigerator, the delivery person discovered that the threads on the valve controlling water to the ice maker were stripped and advised us that the valve had to be replaced. We called Sunshine Plumbing and Gas because we had had a great experience with their installing a new gas water heater for us just a few weeks ago. This experience with them was just a great. The plumber, Corey, was here within an hour and found that our valve installation had been somewhat jerry-rigged with several short pieces of copper angles soldered together. Nevertheless, he was able to skillfully remove the old valve in spite of the copper being somewhat difficult to get to, and to install a new valve. Corey was very courteous and worked efficiently and with a very clean job site. The job took only an hour and we were, again, very pleased with the service and the charges by Sunshine. Not only have we been impressed with the quality of the service personnel of Sunshine, but also with the knowledge and courtesy of the women, Breeane and Kelly, whom we reached with our initial calls. They really want to help customers.
Description of Work: Installed a new water valve, recessed into wall, to connect a line to our refrigerator ice maker.

 + 1 moreFirst time working with Sunshine and, based on the quick service appointment that we received and the work that Jerry did, Sunshine is now our go-to plumber. Installation of our new gas water heater was very challenging and complicated due to space limitations and location of old connections, but Jerry, obviously a very experienced plumber, figured everything out, and we are completely satisfied. Jerry's work is meticulous, with all plumbing neatly and carefully done and with extra-clean job site, plus Jerry was very polite, knowledgeable, and professional. He explained the new system as he went along, and we were especially impressed with his concern for safety with his checking and re-checking of all gas lines for a leak. We could see that he is a true professional who cares about doing the highest-quality work in an efficient manner, so we feel very lucky that we chose Sunshine for our new system and that Jerry performed the installation.

 + -1 moreUnfortunately the technician scratched the faucet and attached the spray hose to the wrong end. The technician also chipped the tile around the faucet during the installation and it looks tacky. Sunshine Plumbing agreed to relace the scratched faucet but that was 6 months ago. I have contacted them 3 times in the 6 months to try to get the faucet replaced - to no avail. I had to call a different plumber to repair the damages.

 + 0 moreOn Saturday morning, both of our toilets would not flush and then the water in the showers did not work. I called Sunshine Plumbing and I was told that someone would be out between 12-1pm. I made the appointment but at the same time, I was concerned because my son had his first basketball game of the season at 1pm and he wanted me to be there. Victoria from Sunshine Plumbing was wonderful. She would text me periodically with updates on when the plumber would be at my house so that I could enjoy the game as much as possible. It worked out because his basketball game was over at 2pm and the plumber was at my house at 2:15pm. Corey and his team were wonderful. He came out on Saturday and cleaned out the pipes with the snake but also recommended the sewer jetting to make sure that everything was cleaned out. He was very professional. A few days later, Corey came back to our house and conducted a sewer jetting to clean out the pipes. He also discovered that there were roots in the pipes and he cleaned it out. Corey and Victoria were great. They explained everything that was going on and they were very professional. I would definitely use them again.

 + 0 moreIt appeared our main line needed to be snaked, so we called them out to take a look. The technician came over and by the time he got there the clog in the main line had apparently worked itself out. He was there for 2 minutes and his bosses still made him charge us $85 for flushing a toilet. I would reluctantly stomach that cost if their policy was calmly explained to me via a kind, thoughtful and customer service oriented response; however, the two company representatives I spoke to were impatient, combative, and short with me on my call. This was the second time I have used their service and each time the interactions with the plumbers have been excellent - the same cannot be said for the treatment I received from their customer service group and management. I will most certainly use one of the many other reputed companies in this area for plumbing work next time I have an issue.

 + -1 moreThis was a Saturday service and part of a multi-visit countertop installation (a different story) through Lowes. The original plumber that was seeing us was unavailable on Saturday so Lowes contacted a different company (Sunshine) that was available. Lowes confirmed the appointment and told me they would reach out to me directly to confirm details (they never called) and would assist with the disconnect and reconnect. It was obvious on arrival that they didn't want to be there and later could be heard complaining (not happy) while working. After they left, the kitchen and 2 bath sinks were found to be leaking. We were so dissatisfied that we had Lowes send back the original plumbing company to fix everything. On repair, it was found that the leaking pipes just weren't sealed or glued down enough.
Description of Work: They had been hired for a disconnect/reconnect of 4 sinks (1 kitchen and 3 bath) prior/post to a new countertop install. They failed to show up for the disconnect (I had to do it myself), but showed up for the reconnect.

Looked up several local plumbing services on Angie's List and called one who didn't want to help for about 5 hours. Called Sunshine and they sent a plumber over in less than one hour. He determined the likely problem and fixed it right away. He explained what had happened and how we can avoid it in the future. We felt the price was more than fair. Excellent service -- will call Sunshine for any future plumbing issues we may encounter.

 + 0 moreThis was not our first time hiring Sunshine Plumbing. They had replaced our kitchen sink, disposal and faucet and both bathroom tub and shower fixtures. So, when we wanted to replace our old (approx 20 yrs) water heater we chose Sunshine. They also handle gas - so, it made sense for a gas water heater. Nate gave me a quote without having to come out (it was a simple replacment and I was able to text him pictures and info to get a good quote). He also gave me options when I decided to change what brand of water heater I wanted. Not to mention that I emailed him at about 9:00 the night before the scheduled work to change my mind on the brand. He politely and professionally helped me at the last minute and late at night. The installer was very polite and professional. He explained everything to me and cleaned up when he was done. The price was right about what I expected based on my internet research. I would definitely recommend this company and I'll use them again when I need plumbing work.
