RATNER CONSTRUCTION The process started with owner of the company ,Steven Ratner, coming to give an estimate for the things we wanted done in the house. The price APPEARED fair, so we continued with the company. We needed the kitchen and 2 bathrooms worked on. The bathrooms had cave like soffit above the tubs and that was our main reason for updating. They put a huge trash bin in the middle of the driveway which made it unusable for us to park. This huge bin stayed there for most of the work. The demolition was finished and that is when everything changed. We came in after demo to see that the soffit above the tubs was still there. Ratner stated that wasn’t in the estimate and this is how the entire process of working with Ratner went . The demo took place in MAY AND THE PROJECT WAS NOT COMPLETED UNTIL OCTOBER 11! The final inspection only passed because OUR handy man was there willing to fix the things the inspector found not passable on the 3rd visit…. Ratner construction failed almost every inspection that the city Gainesville had ,sometimes 3 times. At one point the house was not worked on for weeks. It turned out that Ratner only had ONE person on his crew so when the person had a family emergency the house just sat! We were told on numerous occasions that no subcontractor would work with Steven Ratner. The person that did the tile work was a new hire for Ratner and Ratner also had him do the drywall. The tile work was beautiful, but the ceiling and walls were horrible, and we had to pay another company to come in a smooth out the ceiling and walls before a painter would touch them. If you are still reading this yes, painting was not included .What was? Nothing it seems. Our only advice is to find another contractor. Steven Ratner continually throughout the process would change the price and hand us updated price contracts! If you do use Ratner Construction video every conversation you have with him. You will need it.

handyman2hire did an excellent job of removing and replacing our large, old deck with a new one. The location was a bit difficult because of the grade limitations. The crew maintained a neat work site and left the area clean and clear of debris at completion. We plan to use handyman2hire again for our inside projects. I wish we had found them earlier! the Knowltons, Gainesville

We contacted the gentleman about an estimate for fixing a room in our house and when we got to the point of scheduling a time, there was no further communication. He never showed up, never called, and we haven't heard back and it's been at least a week and a half. Would not recommend.

Steve did a wonderful job in undertaking some much needed renovations to our property and all within a small window of three weeks to complete. He was very professional in his overall approach and adapted to changes made as the job progressed. Steve thoroughly explained the job details and offered suggestions and creative ideas along the way. Overall, we were impressed with Steve’s honesty and committed work ethic, not to mention the quality of the work performed. The finished product was more than we envisioned and we would highly recommend his services to others.

I purchased the materials and he did it all by himself. He is meticulous and does an excellent job. Would definitely recommend. He is very friendly and trustworthy.
Description of Work: Steve laid all the quarter round and transition molding in my house (343 feet). Charges by the hour or by by the metric measurement depending on the job. Better priced than others.

When we bought an older home, I contacted several contractor's for estimates. Handyman2Hire was one of them. From the day Steve walked through the door, he was and has been very helpful. The other contractor's I met with arrived, looked at the jobs to do, told me they would get back in a week and disappeared for more than a week. Steve, on the other hand, after we had walked through the house and he saw what was needed, immediately began the job of helping to rebuild our home. He gave pointers, made suggestions, and listened to our needs. Steve was in contact with me every day, sometimes more than once and met me back at the house several times (we kept adding things to do!). He supplied his estimates as we went along, not leaving me in the dark until the final estimate arrived. I was very impressed with the and quot;hand holdingand quot; he gave us even before he was hired! His attitude, his work ethic (he was here every morning for a month at 8:00 a.m. and on several occasions worked until after dark as we had a move in date), and his experience helped us to put this house back together. And, although he was not certified to do the plumbing and electrical, he oversaw it all for me. We had a lot of unforeseen problems creep up and Steve never once backed away. He was right there in the thick of it all. And, we are not quite though, but we are getting there. We still have a shed to paint, kitchen cabinet doors to install (I refinished the cabinets after Steve gave me great pointers and guided me through the process), more quarter round to put down and, by the time Steve returns next week, there will be another job, I'm sure We are very, very pleased with the work. Steve's work is excellent. He is very meticulous and he thinks things through. And, researches if he doesn't know the answer. He's very calming for the homeowner because there isn't anything he can't figure out or show you what to buy from his iphone.
