His price was the most economical of the four that I received. He showed up when he said he would be there and did not waste much time. So time was spent with idle chit chat but he and his two man crew kept a pretty steady work pace. End result was a nice and tidy and pretty well built deck.

sloooow worker, a lot of silly setting up of a workbench to hold his tools--the floor was clean. what he did accomplish was done well. four five days total work from him, at $35 an hour i expect him to be able to set a pace that gets work done. first day several projects started, none near completion. i said i had to see something finished in order to keep hiring him. after that, he'd finish something right at end of day, but still many things halfway there. what killed it for me, he told me i had a leak (under a sink that wasn't eing used) and that the neighboring bathroom sink in this empty rental should have a cleanout pipe like the first one. checked that information with a professional plumber later in the day, and learned this wasn't true. no leak, no need for extra piping. also, he took out the electrical switch to a vent fan while i was out at the hardware store, claimed it wasn't working. it had worked that morning and the vent fan had been replaced and rewired only the week before. no one living there, it's my rental, but he knew i'd stayed overnite to be there early (he always claims he'll be starting early and never arrives until two hours later. the last day he told me he'd be there at 8, but i'd figured out not necessary to camp out in an empty house (i'm an elderly woman) but i asked a neighbor to let me know what time he arrived. he got there at ten, charged me from eight. surprise, surprise. the vent fan and "leak" leave me doubtiing that the discovery he made of a hole in the ac ductwork (he tore out the ductwork and disposed of it before i had an opportunity to see this) was real. however, i paid an additional $120 for ductwork that he quoted a price of $80 for. and he hasn't returned the key he used that last morning. gary skuse is his name.
Description of Work: an empty rental that had been refurbished, i had some elec plugs that needed to be set at housing authority standards, air return vents needed to be put over the doors where previous handyman had put smoke alarms (three smoke alarms in the living room made sense to him), move those smoke alarms inside the bedrooms, this required some sheetrock cutting and repair, which has been done nicely. rehang a sticking door, change some doorknobs out, repace stove knobs that i had not done successfully at the ace store, some caulking, but he said he'd missed some spots and would catch those. he didn't, which is part of his technique, never quite be finished. he spent a lot of time telling me what else he could see he had to do.
