I'm giving this outfit C's - for no communication. Dealing with these folks was frustrating. I made three calls (one to their project manager's cell phone) in which I was promised a call back each time. They didn't have the courtesy to call. I was told that they were so busy, my project would have to wait until September. I said that was okay. But they couldn't even come give an Estimate? I can only conclude that they don;t want the work at all or too disorganized.

Excellent! I had a great experience and they were so quick to respond to our after hours call. I was relieved to know that they also work directly with our insurance so that was an added plus! Very reliable and timely.

I got them from Angie's List. I am not happy. I had to send a certified letter to get them to finish painting in my kitchen. They have still not done the tile floors. It's been a year in July. With regard to price, he won't get his remaining 20% because he didn’t comply with the contract. He was supposed to be finished by June 9th and he is not. I had to take over the project manager part otherwise it wouldn’t be as far long as it is. I wouldn’t recommend them and I wouldn’t use them. We won’t get the job done. It's supposed to be a turnkey, complete gut job of my kitchen and expansion. It's just been a long drawn out process to get it done, and it's still not complete. He didn't comply with the certified letter I sent him to finish the project. It's not finished. We were lied to. We were charged for permits that were never pulled. They tried to pad the bill after the contract was signed. We had sense enough to know he couldn’t go back on a signed contract, and pad everything on there again and add an additional $18000 to it. With regard to quality, we certainly got good quality stuff. We are going to have somebody else come in to finish the tile flooring, clean grout and things that haven't been finished.

I was quickly pleased that they thought to have me put up gutter guards over the gutters to keep the leaves out. They were competitive and timely and they did not leave a mess.

They came immediately and made temporary repairs that stopped the leak. When the skylights arrived they were the wrong size. It took a while to get the new ones, but we were not in a hurry, because the plastic sheeting covering the problem area worked very well, so we were not in a hurry.

I had a remodel done on the master bath in the summer of 2012. Yesterday, March 4, 2014, I ran into Chris Pickering, owner of GRR. I told him about a problem I had with the toilet tissue holder I had them install back in 2012. He said give him a call and he would come fix it. As it happened, I had to be at the house this morning for something else. I emailed Chris late afternoon on March 4th to see if he could stop by this morning. He said he would, and he did. I knew what needed doing, but I could not get the holder off of the wall. Chris did this for me. I decided I needed a different holder so I wouldn't run into the same problem again. Chris told me to let him know when I got it, and he would come and install it for me. This is 1 1/2 years after he finished the remodel! All through the remodel Chris was very responsive to all of my questions and requests. His tradesmen were all very professional. Gainesville Restoration and Remodel used a specific alarm code for the house, plus a lockbox for the house key. One other thing I would like to mention that shows you the kind of relationship Chris has with his customers. I have a large clock in my living room. Living alone, it is always a challenge when the time changes for me to change the clock. I asked Chris if he minded changing that clock today so I did not have to worry about it when the time changes this coming Sunday. He did it immediately for me.

Gainesville Restoration assisted in finding the source of the problem, in dealing with our insurance company, and in repairing the cabinets and replacing the hardwood flooring. We were happy with the results.

When we called initially, we were told that someone would have to call us back, that the phone answerer could not take our information. They did not call back. We called them back again another day and were told the same, but that "someone" would call us on Saturday. No one ever called. Too bad, as they had great reviews from other Angie List members. But we won't use them.

The construction was performed in a professional manner.

At the appointment I was given an oral estimate for screening an existing porch. The porch has a masonry floor and a roof already so the work required was to frame and screen and to install railing. The porch is 240 square feet and did not require removal of any existing posts but did require removal of the current railing system (metal rails attached with screws). The oral quote given was "ten thousand dollars". I stated that I thought that was high for just framing, screen and rails so I asked the appraiser to email me the proposed plan including estimates for cost of materials and labor. I have not heard from them since. Another contractor I spoke to told me that companies will do this (ridiculously high bids) when they already have enough work and if the consumer bites then all the better. My opinion is that I was treated unprofessionally and with condescension. I would not recommend.

They finished around April. The job was through insurance. We did not pay anything. We had a 500 dollar deductible. I chose , within reason, the tiles and counter tops and things like that. We would not use them again. It took them four and a half months! We had no kitchen during that time. Their subs would come. They would start a job. They would not have what they needed for the job. Maybe, they would come back another day. It should not have taken four and a half months! We had to take everything out of the cabinets and pack them. It had really flooded badly. They did not work in a timely manner. They were not organized. I thought they were a good company. They came to put a toilet in. They said the connector underneath the toilet was not there, so they left! They had to bring it from their office. They should have known, in my opinion. We had small sinks in our bathroom. The cabinet maker said, "what time are the sinks? Are they standard size?" They said yes and they were not. They were smaller than the standard size. The owner of the company knew we were not happy. We had a little bathroom in the back we could use. My husband is disabled. For him,to have to go to the other end of the house, to go to the bathroom. It was expensive eating out every day. It was totally gutted. We tried to stay within a budget.

Great end product. We were very satisfied with the look of the final product compared to the drawing and cannot wait to have my parents start enjoying their new room.

has to stay on top of project manager to keep things moving faster. Still some touchup to finish. I feel it cold have been handled a little more promptly. overall good job.

I was able to quickly schedule an appointment for an estimator to come out. When he came, it was raining, so he surveyed the wall damage and said he would come back another day to look at the roof (totally understandable, for safety reasons). That was a Friday and I was told that I would receive the wall estimate Monday or Tuesday. After calling nearly every day for over a week, I never received an estimate for the wall or the roof (I don't know if they ever came and looked at the roof while I was at work or not) despite being told every time I called, usually speaking directly to the estimator that came out, that they would get it to me "today or tomorrow." I finally said that if didn't receive an estimate by the next day I was going to use another company. I never heard from them again and am now working with someone else. I cannot comment on the quality of their work, and based on the other positive reviews here, it's possible they simply didn't want to take on my job for one reason or another. However, I would have much rather preferred to have been told that up front rather than being strung along for almost two weeks.

Work was OK, but administrative processing was awful. Asked if I wanted extra insurance on roof, and I said yes. I said I wouldn't pay till work was finished. When it was, I called a number of times to get paperwork, and info. Calls not returned or promises made to come by to discuss. Never happened. Some spillage of tar like substance on driveway. Not cleaned up. Perhaps permanent.

Dave and Brian were extremely helpful from the initial visit to the completion visit. This was a major project for me and they were patient and helpful in the guidance.They followed through on their word to arrive at a certain time, etc. I am very pleased.

This has been a complete nightmare from start (in mid November) until now, and it is still not finished. We started this job in mid November, and still did not have a usable shower until mid March. We had hoped to have it completed Dec 1st for our daughters wedding reception. We never received an estimate, and the job was done piecemeal and haphazard. Mistakes were made that had to be corrected, we oftentimes never knew if someone was going to show up to work or not. And calls were not answered promptly. Since insurance was covering all the work to do the shower we accepted that we would go over the final bill at completion. But there are mistakes in the bill now as well , and we still do need a grab bar installed as it was in the original shower. I was going to wait until completion to write a review, but my patience has worn thin. Needless to say we unfortunately cannot recommend this company.

They were very prompt to coming out. They were practically there the next day. They were very prompt at giving me the estimation. I think that they just looked it over. The poor guy who came out had wrist surgery, so he could not even measure but he looked at it and gave it an overall good look and I think he is just very experienced. I did have an email back from him, but he did not get the job wanting to explore why he did not which I thought was very important. I like that. I would consider them again. So I definitely, I would consider them because of that one thing. They said "well what didn't we do right?"

I was very satisfied with ALL this company did for our home as well as their educating me and my family on how the processed work with our insurance company. I also liked their 3 year guarantee on the work they performed!

This is a great experience so far. They are great with communication. So far, no complaints.

Gainesville Restoration & Remodeling discussed everything I wanted to know about. He was professional and everything. He didn't measure stuff like a few others had; which I thought was different.

Would not ever tell me the amount. Just sent it to my insurance company.

No show. Update: Chris explained the previous no show and took the extra effort to give us an estimate as soon as he can.

A tenet in my rental property left the house while cooking and a fire ensued. The fire had been burning of many minutes before it was noticed and the Fire Department called. The cabinets over and near the stove were heavily damaged and smoke damaged what remained of the kitchen along with the dining and living room areas. The water damage from extinguishing the fire destroyed the walls and the wood laminate flooring of the kitchen and dining area, the carpet of the living room was also damaged.In the end the entire kitchen needed to be rebuilt, new cabinetry and flooring. The floor of the dining area was also replaced as was the carpeting of the living room. The walls and ceiling throughout the house had to be cleaned, treated for odor and staining and repainted.The work was completed in reasonable time and on schedule. The workers were courteous, prompt and wiling to assist. I am very please with the work performed and the cost and recommend Gainesville Renovation and Remodeling.
