Had a great referral from a busness we have dealt with. Beau was very personable, but it was hard to communicate with clarity.He could not provide firm quotes or specific designs, just generic overview of what he designed and the types of plants he would provide. He would go off on tangents about doing far different projects on the yard than we were discussing. Had some doubts, but his verbal estimate was very reasonable and we did have that great referral. He stated that he was delivering materials and services for cost plus 20%-and promised a reasonable final price. We like to deal with smaller local firms to help them in these challenging economic times. His delivery of services left quite a bit to be desired. Crews showed up late, left early. Sod was of very poor quality. He left a large portion with no coverage - had to have him bring more of another day, but still left more bare ground than we had agreed to. He was rarely on site or available for us to ask questions. The deal killer though was the final price. His final price was nearly double what was quoted. He charged labor in excess of 40 dollars an hour - on top of the already quoted price of labor and delivery. We questioned the final bill very strongly, but he refused to adjust. Do not do business with Beau Nelson without a formal, written quote and a graphic landscape plan - it will cost you without it.
