The owners of this company were driving around my neighborhood the day Hurricane Irene was passing by. I was out walking my dogs, and they stopped to ask me if I had any trees that needed trimming. While I wasn't in the market for that service right now, I appreciated their resourcefulness in trying to drum up work. A neighbor two doors down decided to give them a try. He had them trim a couple of trees, then he called my neighbor next door who hired the service to trim a black olive tree that stands on the property line that divides our house. She asked us if we could or would go in with them on the bill, and I told her now was not a good time financially for us. She decided to go ahead and have the work done. So I'm inside my house, when all of a sudden I hear what sounds like a semi-truck revving its engine outside our door. I go outside to find this huge truck with a cherry picker parked completely diagonally across our front lawn. They did not ask our permission to do so, and bear in mind that we've had torrential rains of late, and the ground is completely saturated from the feeder bands of Irene. We asked the men to move their trucks from our yard. It took two of us confronting them about moving it before they would. They hemmed and hawed but finally did so; however, in their retreat, they left multiple deep tire tracks all over our yard and holes in two of our flower beds. When I pointed this out to them, I was told they would rake it up and make it right. They may have raked up the debris falling from the trees, but they did not make the tire tracks right or fill in the holes they made. When I called them the next morniing, they did not answer the phone. They returned my call later in the day, and the person on the other end of the line was sighing and acting as if it was such an inconvenience for them to come out and take care of it. He said they would try to make it to take a look later that day, and I told them not to bother. Though the damage improved after the ground dried, the yard is still a big mess, but I just didn't want anything more to do with this company. Through the entire exchange I was treated as though I was a crazy lunatic who had to be humored and talked down to because I pointed out that this was a terrible way to do business, and basically they were trespassing on my property. I was so incensed during the whole thing that I almost called the police and filed a report. These guys are not respectful toward women or to anyone who points out to them that they are not employing good business practices. They are not about service.
