A Best Locksmith

Recently moved to a new house, and needed all doors with locks re-keyed. Called and spoke to Gerry same day. Scheduled an appointment for a couple days later. Gerry showed up on time, and re-keyed everything as requested.

I called to re-key 2 locks on my front door. I called and Gary answered, and told me he could be at my house between 430 and 6 pm. Since I work near my home I asked if he could call when he was on the way and I would meet him. He called me at 430 and was at my house when I arrived. He offered new locks for 170.00 or re key for 90.00 I went for the rekey and he finished the work and gave me 4 new keys. He was done in about 20 minutes. Thank you Gary!nd thank you Angie's list!

I had used Gerry in the past when I had moved into a rental about a year ago and wanted to have all the locks changed. I remembered him being thorough and professional so when I needed a similar service in the house I was buying I again called him. Gerry doesn't come across as the friendliest guy on the phone and it leads to an awkward conversation - after calling him the second time I remembered having a similar experience the first time around. Whether it was my schedule or his we had a challenging time coming up with a date that we could both make, and then when I called to confirm I got the impression that it wasn't on his calendar so I was happy I actually did confirm! That being said, Gerry and his son are much better in person; they are punctual and professional and did a great job in a short period of time. I would definitely use these folks again because I feel they know what they are doing and they show up when they say they are going to. In South Florida that alone is nothing short of a miracle.

It went great. Gerry was patient with my aunt (who is hard of hearing) and took as much time as was needed to make her happy and for her to feel safe now that she can lock her front door easily. He even had her "practice" locking the door and he acted as her supportive coach!!!

I am a very honest reviewer and I never like not giving a perfect review and often will just not review someone rather than give a negative review. In this case I am not giving a negative review but I am not going to add to a long list of gloating reviews either. Firstly I made an appointment for a consultation on Tuesday at 2pm and was called before the appointment and told that we had to reschedule. The time offered was either that minute, which was not possible for me, or between 3-4pm. I agreed to the latter and provider showed up at exactly 4pm. The provider was very nice, understood my concerns and even advised on things I had not thought about. In this sense the actual professionalism was superb in regard to knowledge. I initially wanted a keypad on the garage in addition to all else but was actually talked out of that. In retrospect when spending this kind of money on locks I do believe that a keypad would have been smart to add because lock-outs happen and providers of other services do need entry. In lieu of that I got a lockbox on the gate which did not really resolve all my problems. In regard to the locks themselves a very good job was done installing them and it happened very quickly it was not an all day affair. There were two people, the provider and his son, and they worked expediently. The only complaint I would say I have is that I was cleaning wood off the floor while holding a baby and while they were working and I was left to clean wood off my bathroom floor for the lock that was placed in there as well and later saw a bathroom towel, that I was not asked if it could be used, sitting by my pool in a bucket, dirty. The spring put on my back gate is not at all what I had expected. I have a gate that swings open and the reason for wanting that spring was to ensure the dogs do not escape when other providers carelessly leave a door open. The gate still does not "swing" closed as I have seen with stronger, smaller springs but rather slowly closes. All in all I would say the clean-up issue and the issue of price and the spring are my only issues. I certainly think people considering being a doctor should consider locksmith as the prices are similar per hour of work. I was quite surprised by this but in no way was the price unreasonable as I know they all charge a fortune. The provider was also very nice which mitigates some of the issues I did have but I definitely think that cleaning up after yourself and having your own rags and not using bathroom towels should be included in any professional locksmith's toolbox and service. A HORRIBLE footnote is that despite my pleas to close the doors (external gates) this provider let one of my SHIH TZUS out and my neighbour had to retrieve him, he easily could have been killed.

I called Gerry the day before to schedule the appointment. He was responsive and professional. On the day he called ahead of time to tell us he was on the way arrived promptly at 11 and completed the job quickly and efficiently. We would definitely call Gerry for any future locksmith needs.

I called A-Best Locksmith at approximately 9pm to see if they could change a tumbler on a lock and provide two new keys. He said he would be there in about 35 minutes. He was at my house in 35 minutes. He changed the lock and provided two new keys and was all completed within 15 minutes. Prompt service. His card is now on my bulletin board. Yes, I would use A-best Locksmith again.

I was using a cheap frontdoor deadbolt as I was having renovations done. The deadbolt stopped working. Called ABest Locksmith and scheduled an appointment for noon the next day. What I do like about Gerry was that he was accurate in when he could make it. About 25 minutes before he arrived he called and said he would be there. He estimated he would be there in about 25 minutes and was there slightly earlier. If you are taking time off from work to be there that is important. At first he tried to use a credit card and asked whether there was a latch behind. I told him no and had tried PB50 on it but to no avail. He gave me a quote which I accepted and proceeded to drill out the lock.

Provider was very professional and came within 24 hours although I mentioned that it wasn't a hurry. Was very knowledgeable and quick and knew just what to do to repair the problem although I was told that the entire lock needed replaced. Would definitely use and recommend him in the future.

My front door lock broke and I called 2 locksmiths - the first arrived and wanted to install a bolt lock rather than repairing the Mortise Lock because of difficulty and expense in getting parts - did not make any effort to fix the lock and wanted $225.00 to install the bolt lock. Gerry from A Best Locksmith arrived and took the lock apart. He warned me of the cost and difficulty in getting parts. It took a great deal of time and effort to get the correct part and repair the lock. The lock is a complete system including the front door handle and is imported from Europe. The door would not stay closed without repairing the lock and any other alternatives would have required eventually replacing the door. The part had to be ordered from California. Gerry checked in with me several times to confirm my receipt of part and arrived at my house within an hour of my receiving the part. He was very professional and prompt with all appointment times. I also had Gerry install a key bolt lock on my rear door and rekey my locks. His price was very reasonable and he provided the service based on his original quote even when additional problems arose. He was willing to repair my lock even though it was a difficult and unusual style of lock to get parts and repair. I would recommend A Best Locksmith and use their services again.

It went well. He answered all of my questions without being rude and condescending, which I appreciated a lot. I had called 4 other locksmiths and was appalled at the way they'd behaved, so Gerry was the first one to come off alright. Punctuality, he called when he said he would. I was anxious and wanted it done on the spot, but he was able to do it the next morning, which really worked out fine. His charge was the cheapest of all the locksmiths I called, which was especially nice considering that other locksmiths charged 2x as much and were very hard to get information from. I felt comfortable with him doing the work, and although I haven't seen it yet, my cousin has seen it (who also does this kind of work, but wasn't available the time I called him to do it) and says it's fine. No problems. Gerry also went out of the way to send a copy of the key to me, which I really appreciate.

We had an issue that we needed to get done for our safety. They met all our needs quickly and professionally. Seven lock cylinders were re-keyed and ten knew keys were provided. There is no question that we would use them again and we would certainly recommend them to friends and relatives.

Gerry quoted me over the phone, showed up on time and was very professional.

Approximately two hours after my initial call and request for cylinder changes, Gerry and partner Bobby arrived. Bobby showed me their professional license, the quote was exactly what we thought. It is now 4:30, and I have peace of mind. They worked quickly, cleanly and professionally. I will use them again if necessary in addition to recommending them to others.

Gerry came on a very short notice (40 min) and changed the keys to the entrance of my home in less than 10 minutes! He went about his work in a professional manner and most differently knew what he was doing. Would do work with this company again without a shadow of a doubt!

I'd planned to use another locksmith that I'd found on Angie's List, but thought their price seemed high. I called A-Best and was pleasantly surprised to find that their price was much more competitive and in line with what I'd expected to pay. They gave me the Angie's List 10% discount, which made their price even more attractive. I spoke with them last week and scheduled the appointment for today. They arrived on time, got the job done in about an hour, and took the time to show me how the painters should remove the lock from the inside when we have the home painted in a couple of weeks. All in all, a very good experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Gerry called that he was delayed about 1 hour. He was efficient, fixed the problem lock, and suggested the bar to fill the large gap around the deadbolt. He went beyond what I asked him to do. He was conscientious and checked that the sliding door actually locked, even though I had not asked him to take a look. He negotiated with me on the price. I would definitely use him again.

Gary responded promptly to my call and we scheduled an appointment. He showed up as scheduled and got to work right away. Took care of changing the lock and putting in a new doorknob without any difficulty. I found him to be very pleasant and professional, clean and neat, easy to deal with and reasonably priced. Would call on him again for any future locksmith needs.

Called them in the morning. They came early afternoon same day, on time. Did what was asked, checked that each lock worked, got paid and left. Pleasant, good natured and professional. What more could anyone ask for?
