I cannot thank Nate, Dave, and Trevor enough- these guys were awesome. We were in the middle of a bathroom remodel- and my gut did NOT trust the plumbing company my general contractor had hired so I asked them to leave....went on Angie's List for research and found Thornton Plumbing. Nate took my call and he was very responsive- and flexible with his schedule. The guys did fantastic work and took care of my home. I am very thankful to have met Nate and crew- if I need further plumbing work I will call Thornton without hesitation.

Excellent. They were on time, seemed honest, and hardworking. They did what they said they were going to do.

The service went well. I called for same day service due to an emergency repair. The repairmen called back and moved the appointment earlier in the day to my delight. The hot water heater was replaced quickly, line maintenance was taken care of free of charge. Old heater was hauled away, no charge.

They came by and switched out my insinkerator that was not working. Work very efficiently and tidy up very neatly. Would definitely recommend them for future work.

I spoke with Dave who answered my call right away. He was professional and courteous. I asked for an estimate on water softener installation and he gave me a quick reply with a standard cost. I didn't have to leave a message or wait for a call back and he answered me with a direct answer. This company is at the top of our list for when we decide to install our water softener based on his professionalism and quick response.

Arrived on time did a good job and at a fair price for 6 hours and two plumbers time.

My daughter work me at 4:30 A.M., on a Saturday morning, saying there was a noise downstairs that sounded like a washing machine. I came downstairs and immediately knew it was the sump pump. I waited until 6:30 and started looking for plumbing companies on Angie's List. I started calling companies after 7am. Left some messages, but I got a person when I called Thornton Plumbing. Individual quoted me a charge and said they could be here by approx 11:00 a.m. Dave and Trevor called to say they were on their way and arrived very quickly. They quickly identified the problem, recommended replacing the sump pump and check value and gave a total cost. I agreed and they fixed the problem. I asked about pricing for other items and they provided quotes. This was an amazing experience dealing with Thornton from my initial call to them. They were fast, extremely professional and I believe they did a quality job. Dave and Trevor were GREAT! By noon, my Saturday turned out not to be so bad.... Same day service on a Saturday -- unbelievable. A BIG thank you to Thornton Plumbing!!

I think I paid some more. I paid for the sump pump about $300. I got a new sump pump. They charged me for the new sump pump and the labor a little bit. It works so far.

The guys showed up on time and got right to work figuring out how to access the outside faucets from the inside. They were polite and respectful by covering their shoes inside the house. They were very conscientious about making the finished product look great and made sure we were satisfied. I gave a B for the price because it seemed expensive but I only had one other quote for a faucet replacement to compare it to and it was a tad bit lower. I chose Thornton plumbing because they were quick to respond to the email message that I left thru Angie's List. I never heard from one of the companies and the other one emailed but never called. So great customer service! That was also demonstrated by the fact that I remembered to give them the coupon I had after my bill was all written up. They happily adjusted the bill.

This was a good experience. The company gave me an estimate. After getting a few others I felt comfortable accepting theirs. They were communicative, professional, and on time. There were no additional fees at the end of the job.

Knowledgeable and Professional

Once we agreed to final price and they explained the equipment they use the work was done on the same day. They worked until about 6:30 pm until the job was done. The owner then took the time to walk me through how the systems operated and answered any questions that had. I was very impress that from a phone call at 8 am they were at my house around 10 am and started the work at 10:30 and had it wrapped up by 6:30.

It went great. They were quick and easy to work with. They came highly recommended and we would recommend them to others.

Personnel were knowledgeable and professional. Prompt response and showed up on-time to perform services. No issues with work performed.

Three guys came out and fixed my toilet water hose (two guys training). They wanted to charge $200 for replacing the hose, but we negotiated down to $100. The plumber was upset that I didn't seem to understand how much plumbers usually cost, and I was a little uncomfortable. The coupon was for someone to come over and assess the situation and give a quote. While assessing my situation, the problem was fixed with $5 part and 5 minutes of work. So it was an awkward position I was in because I couldn't really opt out if I thought it was too expensive since it was already done. Since then, the plumber contacted me and apologized for his attitude as he had been having a very bad day. They are also getting rid of the coupons because several customers (like me) understood it as a no obligation visit, which is not really in the best interest of their time as professional plumbers. He mailed me a full refund, and I thought that was very kind.

Excellent crew, very professional will call again first if we need a similar job completed.

Appointment was scheduled promptly for same week. Service was quick and they cleaned up afterwards. Provided good operator instructions offered other home services.

I bought the tune up for the sump pump because I was pretty certain that my check valve was bad and needed to be replaced. They took it apart and informed me that I should probably have the pump replaced; which I did at an extra $300. The problem I had was that the tune-up wasn't done per my satisfaction. It described replacing the check valve and checking other things like intake and discharge. Well, they never checked the discharge at the end of the pipe. I believe the new pump pressure with the good check valve broke my discharge pipe 3 ft below the ground level as water backed up near my house. I called them back and they came out pretty quickly and that's when we found the end of the pipe plugged up. Once I removed the grass and dirt plugging the pipe, it flowed okay. I did have to go back and dig up my pipe and replace a broken elbow which took about 6 hours digging by hand. Not really sure if the new setup broke the pipe; but it was awfully coincidental that it happened that day. I had a slight disagreement that I believed that since the tune-up stated that they would check the discharge, they would make sure water flowed all the way out of the house and out the end of the pipe. Their contention was that they only checked to make sure the pump was pumping water, which it was. Unfortunately, it was pooling directly next to my house as there was a broken line and water didn't flow all the way out. The good news was that they refunded my initial tune-up fee.

I purchased a $35 certificate from Angie's List for a service call. The job was an leaky spigot - we recently replaced the parts ourselves but there is still an occasional small leak. Really wanted someone to take a look at what we'd done and fix it. I was quoted $189 for the plumber to even unscrew the cap to look at it. His recommendation without examining it was to replace the spigot for $375. Or I was given the option of paying $189 and then and additional $375 if it needed to be replaced. I was told that I would get my $35 dollars as credit if that were the case. So potentially this occasional drip could have cost $534. I'm quite certain that the plumber would have found that I "needed" a new spigot. Sorry Angie's List - but I feel like the $35 was a bait and switch tactic. Very disappointed.

I called on Wednesday and got an appointment for the following day. They called me when they were on their way to my house Nate was earlier than they anticipated, but it worked out great. HE figured out the issue and had it fixed in about 20 minutes. They were at my house a total of 30 minutes probably and that included testing the pipes after finishing just to confirm no more leaking. Cost was fine for what they did and I would call them again if I ever need a plumber!

It was a yet another dark and stormy night in Central Indiana when we heard the disturbing silence of a non-functioning sump pump in the crawl space. A quick calculation of the pump's age,( ancient), brought us to Angie's List for recommendations. Thornton Plumbing was top rated AND had a coupon. A message, a prompt reply, and Nate was at our door with his crew the next day. New sump place in place and ready to take on more rainy days. Thank you, Nate; the pump is purring as I write this!

Initially I found him to be very professional, but after second contact I found his unwillingness to own up to his mistake very frustrating and unprofessional.

Every plumber that we talked to had extremely expensive options to get the problem solved, things we could not afford. But Thornton presented a more cost effective option for re-routing and re-piping.

I had a coupon for a certwin amount off, but wasn't given an estimate of the total cost of the service call before hand. It wound-up costing much more than I expected. The plumber did give me good suggestions. The whole service call took less than an hour.
