+ -1 moreDo not schedule appliance repairs with Murrell, because they are not reliable, and will cancel with you at their convenience. I had scheduled Murrell to come to my house to fix my Lynx grill...they are an authorized repair shop for Lynx. The repairs were scheduled 10 days out. The morning they were to arrive, they called and said they couldn't come because of the wind. When I was explaining my grill was in an enclosed lanai, the person (Mary) rudely cut me off. Then after a couples minutes wait, another person (Tim) came on the line. When I explained my grill was not exposed to the wind, he changed the resin to 'it's because of where I am in the route...there are many other service calls around there'. When I said "Good, your service person will be close by, so he can come to my house", he said 'we're not coming to your house' and hung up. Not how you treat a customer.

+ -1 moreI have an outdoor refrigerator that was only cooling to 39 degrees and was frosting up. The repair tech that arrived was very courteous and professional. Upon completion of the work, he explained what he had found and accomplished... so far, so good. However, after the tech left, the fridge never cooled below 48 degrees. I called the office to let them know that whatever they did actually made things worse. I was told by the owner, Mary, that they would not be able to come back out until the following Monday (another full week). When I protested that "THEY" were the party responsible for the refrigerators worsening performance, and should move me up in the que, she just said that was the best she was willing to do. Basically, Mary is scheduling new jobs before completing current jobs. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this decision and would absolutely NOT recommend this company.

+ -1 moreThis was a very bad experience. (see above) The fact that they kept ALL of my money and did not fix my appliance is just appalling. This repair service lacks integrity! Shame!
Description of Work: refrigerator was leaking. First response I was told it was fixed. The next day, it was obvious not fixed. 2nd call same person came, said it was fixed. First visit was $125. Second visit was nothing. Next day, it was still not fixed. I called, was told that they would have to order a part.... I was left with a broken refrigerator for several days. They came back a third time and installed the part . This was $175 more. Next day, appliance still was not functioning. I called, and was told "sorry, we can't help you." They refused to refund any money and still left me with a broken refrigerato and $275 spent for nothing.

+ -1 moreGreat! The technician was a professional that really knew what he was doing. The company scheduled his visit and then called me to notify me of the time frame. He called to confirm that he was on his way. Very considerate. He had researched the appliance and knew just what to test. He successfully repaired my appliance and it works very well once again. I considered his bill reasonable considering the time spent and distance traveled to help me since I live on an island.
Description of Work: I needed to have a downdraft kitchen vent repaired. It was a difficult appliance to service since it was installed on the counter top in back of my cooktop, and the technician needed to do all his repair thru cabinetry.

The technician recommended a repair kit that would extend the life of the (older) dryer at only a slightly higher cost than simply replacing the belt. He did the work, got the dryer working well, showed me all of the old parts he had replaced, and hopefully extended the life of the dryer. Company was responsive, punctual, and professional. Highly recommended.

They were willing to talk me through what to do with it short term since I was leaving town the next day, and then when I was in town next they came and repaired it. Diagnosed problem over the phone so they could be sure to have the potential parts on the truck, called the day of to say when they were coming, arrived on time, and fixed it quickly. I had also called the night before the appointment and left a message about a new issue with our fridge and he came prepared with parts to help with that issue also. Wonderful all the way around.

+ -1 moreTook two separate tries but so far dishwasher is working OK. Maybe it could have been fixed first time? I'd call them again ... nice people. But still strange that it took two tries.
Description of Work: Our dishwasher wasn't cleaning corectly. On the first visit, they discovered a bent wash arm and bent it back into place and said it was fixed. Cost about $150 for call. Next couple of washes showed it still wasn't fixed. On second visit (about another $150, installed a new pump.

They were very professional and personable. I would also like to thank Mary in the office handling the scheduling of my service appointments and answering all of my many questions about front loading washers. She is a wealth of information and enjoyable to talk with. I believe she should have her own question and answer page on your web site or maybe a "Go Ask Mary" write in column! My husband and I are new to this area. I felt comfortable and safe picking this company with the help of Angies List. The assistance I received over the phone from Mary and the interactions with the Technicians in my home were very good. I will use them again. Thank you Mark, Bill, Robert and Mary!
Description of Work: I called Murrell Inc when my stacked front load Frigidaire washer stopped working. I had determined three different things wrong with the washer. The washer had been pausing during wash loads. This required the START button to be pushed again to continue the process. This could occurred many times during one wash and required someone to be present to ensure the cycle completed. The next issue occurred when I tried to wash my king sized bed spread ( the same one that i had washed once a week for a year with no issues - except the pausing issue) the washer went out-of-balance and started walking and banging loudly. I could not get the door to unlock to adjust the cover. Finally, my husband was able to get the cycle cancelled and pulled the cover out. He was strong enough to wring it out and hang it out doors to dry. This out of balance banging event must have caused the belt to work its way loose because on the very next load, after a very loud bang - the drum stopped spinning completely. The next day I called Murrell from my office and explained the situation. The gentleman who took my call (i don't remember his name) really tried to help me trouble shoot the problems over the phone. I couldn't remember the exact machine only that it was a Frigidaire. He turned me over to Mary who took my limited information and I promised to call back on Monday with more details. Mary explained that because the unit was stacked and in a tight closet, the work would require two men to be able to unstack / move the machines to allow access to fix the washer. She called the morning of the scheduled repair with a time frame for their arrival. Mark and Bill arrived separately but right on time. They got right to work and determined the belt had slipped out of its position and in the process tore slightly. They did not have a replacement belt with them but they were able to put the old belt back on as a temporary fix. They also discovered that the drain line had been installed incorrectly. It was sucking the water out. dropping the water pressure within the wash tub and causing the pausing. They fixed this and placed an order for a new belt. The replacement belt was received within a few days but because of my schedule, we had to wait two weeks before it could be installed. During this time, i used the washer normally with no problems. The pausing issue had been corrected. I even washed my bed cover successfully. Mark and Robert (Bill's brother I later learned) came back out to replace the belt.

He quickly diagnosed it. Would be easy fix. Went to their office. Bought inexpensive part. Came home. Replaced the defective part. Dryer fixed (all within an hour or so). Happy wife. Happy life. Robert was fantastic. He went beyond the call of duty. Thanks so much!!

Arriving late, and having not stopped at the store to load up on groceries, I decided to wait until the next morning to log onto Angie's list and find a quality repair service. I chose Mueller's as they were the top rated. Now I see why. Mark was great! He diagnosed the problem in no time and completed the repair. He was professional, informative and definitely knew his stuff. Not knowing anything about refrigerator's, a lesser quality repair service could have easily told me my compressor was out, costing me way more. These guys are as honest as the day is long. I would definitely use them again for any large appliance repair!

+ -1 moreWe've been using Murrell for several decades. They provide prompt, honest and fairly priced service. They work on, to the best of my knowledge, any brand of appliances. Fifteen years ago, the firm which sold us our rangetop insisted that everything was right with it, even though it wouldn't simmer on small burners. Murrell correctly diagnosed that the unit had been shipped with incorrect venturis and got the manufacturer to pay to replace them. They've fixed refrigerators, too. We like their responsiveness, fair treatment, courtesy, cleanliness and honesty.

+ -1 moreI'm basically a northern gal, and ice cubes in water have almost become a necessity for me in Florida! I drink ice water all day and when my ice maker stopped working, I got hot under the collar:) I checked Angie's List for appliance repair places and found this company. The company had already figured it might be the ice maker needing to be replaced before they came to the house. Mary asked lots of questions over the phone and said she would send someone out. Billy came out as scheduled and replaced the broken ice maker in no time, showed me the corrosion and mold (yuck) in the old unit. Ice maker now works beautifully and I am as cool as a cucumber with my ice water. I would recommend this company for any appliance repair.

+ -1 moreCalled for an appointment for a repair of a Whirlpool oven for a rental unit. Received a message from Tim that the service would be on Monday the 28th of April but at no specific time of day. I called and left a message for Tim (no one answered the phone during business hrs.) explaining that this was a rental unit and I needed to contact the tenant prior to the service and narrow down the time. I didn't receive a return call from Tim. On the day of service, I received a message from Mary stating that they would come out this afternoon but didn't give me an approximate time. I called and spoke directly to Mary. She said the reason I didn't get a call back is that they don't make their schedule up until the morning of service. I explained to her my situation with the rental property. She said there was no way for her to give me a time of day for service. What was really troublling was that she really didn't seem bothered that she was going to lose a customer if she couldn't give me a reasonable window of when to expect Tim. Not very professional or responsive to a customer's needs. If you value your time you'll find someone that has more resources and a better customer focus.
