Clearing of underbrush and consolidation of yard trash among homeowners in our neighborhood resulted in approx 20-30 cubic yards of debris that we stacked roadside. The city removed only the bagged debris on the regular Friday schedule and the city indicated it was limited to just 5 cubic yards per weekly pick up. There was collective concern about the site being an eyesore over that anticipated prolonged duration. Checking Angie's List description of services, I phoned "Tree Work" late SATURDAY morning and the OWNER ANSWERED THE PHONE. Mitch Drake listened to our predicament; he asked good questions and then said, " I'll be there in 30 minutes to take a look." Mr. Drake arrived, walked about the debris, assessed the project and offered an estimate for removal; availability to tackle it; & length of time to complete. As promised, his crews arrived PROMPTLY 9AM MONDAY morning; were respectful of the customers; were focused on the mission and completed the task in less than 30 minutes, including detail to restoring the area to original state. I was impressed that "Tree Work" was available on Saturday, and that THE OWNER ANSWERED THE PHONE ON A SATURDAY. And made a "house call" the SAME DAY. Then he hit a home run by providing the service on the NEXT BUSINESS DAY. Service was prompt, focused, respectful, thorough and expeditious. Doesn't get much better than that.

Great! Price was the cheapest of three estimates but that was not why I chose him. Mitch was very personable and easy to work with. After I had pointed out each tree and told him what I wanted done, he took the time discuss in detail each one and the best way to go about meeting my desires. This is the first of many tree services that I have hired that used ladders to climb the tree to a safe height before using climber boots. His crew was courteous and all business, very safety minded. Did a great job of cleaning up. Will use him in the future.

these guys are great! i called for an estimate on monday, mitch came out for an estimate on tuesday evening and was knowledgeable and helpful and had advised what he thought i would be most happy with. and his price couldn't be beat. they did the work on thursday--arrived earlier than scheduled (how nice!) and had the work done, including a thorough clean up, in less than 1.5 hrs. they were careful not to damage any plantings i had below the trees they trimmed. the crew was hard working and clearly enjoyed working for mitch. i highly recommend mitch and his tree crew!

The experience was very good from estimate to completion. The estimator pointed out potential problems with trimming some of the neighboring trees.

The price was very fair. He did a great job, and he was on time. He cleaned up after himself. The guy worked well with my husband and did exactly what my husband wanted. They are not the cheapest but they have the best feed back.

The work went very well. Mitch came as promised to give the estimate and also arrived at the scheduled day and time to remove the tree. His estimate as to the length of time it would take was accurate. The crew cleaned up all the debris and left the yard looking as though no work as complex as removing a tree had been done. I am so impressed with Mitch Drake and crew. I first called him on a Saturday afternoon about the dangling limb and he said that he could send someone out immediately if necessary. I told him that it could wait until Monday. First thing Monday morning Mr. Drake's son, Mike, came out and removed the branch. He was clean cut, polite and professional and he did the job quickly and effortlessly. The price for that was $250.00 and it was well worth it, because you couldn't pay me a million bucks to go up that tree! Mike gave me a $2,600.00 estimate to remove whole tree and grind the stump. I thought that sounded very reasonable given the amount of work that would be involved and the difficulty of the task. The huge tree was close to my house, close to my neighbor's house and not easily accessible because of its location in the side yard and behind a fence. Honestly I didn't know how they were going to do it... A week later the whole crew came out. They were on time and all professional looking and acting. The brought out a gigantic crane to get to the top of the tree and they cut it down one piece at a time starting at the top and working their way down. For someone who's never seen this before, it was a quite a show! They used the crane to move all the logs and branches to the front yard where they were either loaded into a debris truck (the big logs) or put into a wood chipper (the smaller logs and branches). There were 5 or 6 guys total, plus the crane operator, and they worked together like a well-oiled machine. When they were done they picked up the area and used a blower to blow away too the leaves and debris. Also, I got the impression that Mike may have bid the job just a little too low, but Mitch insisted that a deal is a deal and honored the price. Very good people. Professionals, clean cut, presentable, well spoken, nice, etc. I'd hire them again without hesitation and give them the highest possible recommendation.

Our experince was all positive with Mitch Drake & Son LLC. We had a ornanmental pear in our back yard that had to be removed along with the stump as it was in the way of a patio we are adding to our back yard. I called 4 tree removal companies, 3 responded and 2 provided estimates. Both the companies that followed up with estimates seemed well qualified and professional. All my questions were answered clearly. Mitch in particular explained what they would do, their availability, and payment terms in a straight forward manner. I liked that. The prices were similar but Mitch included the stump grinding for free for Angies list customers so we went with them. Mitch's crew showed up right on time, quickly cut the tree down, ground the stump and picked up the mess without any problems. You would not know we had a tree removed from our backyard except for the spot where the stump was. His crew of 4 was young, energetic and friendly. I was very impressed with the both their skill and efficiency. They were done in less than 2 hours! I was so glad I hired them to do it instead of attempting it myself. So much easier and very affordable. I would be taking 2 aspirin and soaking in a hot bath instead of writing a report now had I tried to do it myself, assuming I even started. I would definitely recommend them to my friends who need a tree and stump removed. All in all, it a very professional and positive experience. I am very happy.

Everything went as planned, Mitch was on the job the entire time and consulted with me to make sure all was going as expected. Completed in one day as promised and inspected all work with me prior to payment. Mitch's price was very competitive and I would rehire and reccomend him for any service that had to do with trees, especially around or over my house.

Michael Drake and his crew arrived the following morning as promised. After setting up, they gathered together and prayed in Jesus' Name for safety and protection. Michael also thanked the Lord for keeping me safe from the dangerous limb. Michael and his professional and polite crew went above and beyond. After removing the tree limb and additional limbs in the live oak tree, they also trimmed by grapefruit tree that was hanging over the roof without additional costs. They cleaned the roof and all of the surrounding area. All of the debris were hauled off-site. This is the second time that I have utilized this company. Tree Works by Mitch Drake is the first tree company that I have dealt with that is truly professional: no swearing, no dishonesty, and respect for the Lord first and for the customer second. Where do you find that? They are totally trustworthy.

Total time on site was less than two hours. They worked safe and smart and did the job to our satisfaction.

Mr. Drake arrived at the agreed upon time to provide me with an estimate for the removal of several medium-size trees from my yard, and trimming of several large trees overhanging the roof of our house. We spent a bit of time talking about what I wanted done, then spent some time on his own figuring out how it was to be done. His estimate was very fair for the amount of work done. What I appreciated the most was his detail sheet, which outlined his understanding of what I wanted, and several options for how it could be done. We scheduled a time and date and he and his crew again arrived on time. They immediately began working, cutting down the easiest trees first, taking care to not damage surrounding plants. Trimming the large trees overhanging the house took a bit of planning, and special care was taken to bring the limbs down safely and securely. The crew was professional and knowledgeable, both about safety and also the trees themselves, knowing where to trim, and how much to cut back. By mid-afternoon they had completed the work and cleaned everything up. I highly recommend this company. We've used several tree services over the years, but Mitch's team is by far the best. We will definitely use them again.
