You couldn't ask for anyone better to do tree work at your home. The crew arrived promptly and got to work. They were more than careful not to cause any damage dropping huge limbs and used ropes to guide the huge pieces safely to the ground. The foremen kept checking with us to be certain things were going as we had planned and to be sure we were pleased with the work so far. The clean up was beyond reproach. You would have never known they had done so much work in the yard. Without a shadow of a doubt we will hire them again. Price was competitive with other bids but we feel certain the work was far better.

Tree Work by Mitch Drake came to our place in Jacksonville (Mandarin) to cut about 8 trees. Some of these trees were very mature and dangerously close to structures (our home and the neighbor's.) Everything went smoothly: the call for an estimate was promptly returned; the estimate given to us was fair. Scheduling was a breeze and confirmed. Time on arrival was spot on. We have used other firms in the past; this time we were really impressed by the deployed resources: a crew of six including the climbers, multiple motorized accessories to move the trunks and do the grinding. Prep work was smooth; the crew carefully relocated some plants, preserved the fence panels. After work cleanup was thorough. were doingIn less tan three hours the process was completed; sure we were nervous when big limps were dangling and the climbers were so high, but these guys are professional: they knew exactly what they did. The foreman, Eric was there all the time and available for questions and recommendations. He did so well; we could see that his approach was military based (so precise, so thorough) but he was also acting as a team leader. The crew worked hard but they were always smiling and professional. After everyone left, our neighbors came out and marveled at the cleanliness of the job site; they could not believe it was already done. This was not our first rodeo and we have hired tree crews in various places (California, Maine, Florida). They were doing work for a neighbor and I asked if they had time to remove a dead pine. They said they did. They performed the work quickly and were careful to drop the trunk in a spot away from the sprinkler heads I had flagged. Based on my experience, their price was competitive. Their cleanup was excellent. The people were pleasant to deal with and all my questions were answered. I recommend this company without reservation.

Mitch was very responsive and quick to provide an initial estimate. After getting 3 other quotes, I decided to go with them because they were obviously very experienced, competitively priced, knowledgeable about the trees and best ways to prune them, and had a short lead time to get the week done around the holidays. After I called to schedule the work, they came within a week and were incredibly efficient. He had a whole team come and trim several trees at once and cleanup was very quick. They literally completed all of the work within an hour! Mitch was very friendly and explained everything that was being done to each individual tree, and asked if I had any specific requests. He supervised the work and made sure that the crew was doing exactly what I had requested. I will definitely be using this company again in the future and highly recommend them for jobs that are large and small!

Contractor showed up on time with a crew of seven and all the required equipment. After scoping out the trees, Contractor proceeded to cut down the trees in a very safe and methodical manner. A great deal of care was taken in protecting both our and our neighbors' property and landscaping. After two of the trees were taken down, strump grinding started while the other trees were taken down. The Contractor removed al tree debris, regularly cleaning the area and street as they went, and rough graded out the four spots the trees were taken down.

Top-flight people who do top-flight work, at the time promised and for the price promised. Ours was a small job, but Mitch and son made me feel as though it was there most important job. I recommend without reservation.

Came out and gave me a quote when he said he would. Came promptly for time of appointment. Had a crew of 4 that came out and finished all work within about 1 1/2 hours. Cleaned up everything and carted everything off. Really pleased with his professionalism and work. He actually came on site and supervised all work and welcomed my presence there while they were cutting the trees. Would definitely have him do work again.

I got a fee estimate and was pleased with the price. He spent a lot of time asking all of the right questions, and I liked that I was given good information about where best to cut off the limbs. I accepted the proposal and was told that I would receive a call at the beginning of the scheduled week letting me know what day and time they would arrive. As promised, I received a call at the beginning of the planned week letting me know they would arrive on Friday between 11:00 and 11:20. I thought they had given a really narrow window, but they arrived on time with several trucks and about 8 people. They confirmed with me what we had previously discussed and then got right to work. It went quickly, and they cleaned up all of the debris, blew off the the driveway and left the yard as clean as they found it when they showed up. I looked everything over to make sure nothing was missed, and it was exactly as we had discussed. The trees look great, and I could not have been happier with the results. I will use them again.

This is the third or forth time in the last ten years I've had trees removed from the property so I had a pretty good idea of how much this job was going to run. The first two quotes I got were about the same, $800, which I thought was not reasonable. Mitch quoted $550 which was right about what I expected. He had to schedule the job a couple weeks down the road due to his work load which was fine with me. He showed up with his crew on the day, and at the time, he scheduled and had the tree down, the stump ground, and everything cleaned up in a very short time. An Angie's List coupon saved another $50.00.

I met with Mitch three times to complete a job. I needed to clear about a half acre of space on our property to construct a new workshop building. Mitch met us right on time and gave us a fair estimate. His crew showed up on the first day just when they said they would and removed the smaller trees, bush hogged the smaller bushes and wild bramble overgrowth and did a deep grind on the stumps so that the area could be graded and prepped for a poured concrete foundation. After completion, my General Contractor and I re-measured the building space. We wanted to save a large 30' oak in the corner of the lot, but it just wasn't possible if we wanted to build the workshop in the intended space. So, I had Mitch and his crew come back out to give us an estimate on removing the last huge oak tree. To make the removal safer, we had to have JEA come out and remove a portion of the tree that was overhanging power lines which delayed the removal by two weeks. Even with all of the rains we've had this summer, they came out when they'd scheduled they would and removed the final large tree. The stump was again removed and deep ground for grading and construction. For me, communication is key when dealing with contractors. Mitch was very good at keeping in touch to make sure we'd be available during the appointment times we'd set. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. He did a very good job, always let us know when he'd be coming in advance and did everything he'd set out to do for us. You can't expect any better than perfect.

They were not the lowest price, but they had the fastest service, and were very forth-coming with their proof of insurance. Very professional, and other that the tree being gone, you can't tell that they were here. We would definitely recommend them and use them in the future.

They were excellent. They cut down a dead tree and cut some big limbs out of the others. I thought the price was reasonable. They were excellent workers and they did it in a fast, they did it quick. They trimmed a lot of other stuff and they cleaned everything up. You couldn't even tell they were here. I thought the pricing was excellent. I had an estimate with another tree company and theirs was $400 higher. I will only use these guys from now on.

Mitch and his company are exactly the type of professionals I like to work with. It took a little time to get them out but only because they are so busy. Mitch came out for the estimate exactly when he said he would and laid out very exact expectations as to when they would be out to do the actual work. When they came out for the work they were punctual, quick and did a great job of cleaning up. I would absolutely make the first call to them if I ever need tree service again.

Mitch arrived on time for the estimate and was very thorough and professional. He used a laser pointer to confirm the limbs that needed to be removed. We were very impressed and hired him on the spot. On the day of the service, the crew arrived on time and immediately started working. Mitch came in and removed a large 45+ foot tall tree, ground the stump, and removed other roots threatening the foundation all within a small amount of time and at a very reasonable price. I would definitely use them again for any future tree service needs.

Great company. Came by 2 days after calling to give us an estimate. Walked the property with us and asked questions to help determine exactly what we wanted done. After providing the estimate, there was no pressure, just asked that we give him a call in the next day or two if we were intrested. When I did call back, they let me know that they do all the scheduling on Sundays, and that we would receive a call on Sunday evening informing us what day that week they would be by, and about what time. The crew showed up within 5 mins of the ETA. They went right to work, and the owner walked the property with us again just to be sure they were clear on what we wanted done. They were done and wrapping up in about 30 mins. One reason we hired them is that they haul away and clean up. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone that is interested in having tree work done. They are professional, polite, and on time!

This is our second time using Mitch Drake & Sons; they had previously done some tree trimming for us. This time we needed tree removal done for several large trees. Mitch came out and gave us a quote, and described in detail the work that would be done. We needed a large water oak removed from beside our home (in between our house and the neighbor's). Also needed 3 large pines removed in our back yard. This was my first experience having a crane used for such work-- Mitch recommended this for the oak since it was in a bad location and conventional removal would have been risky with branches falling in such a tight space. On the day of the work, Mitch and company arrived on time and were extremely prepared and professional. They put boards in our yard so that the crane wouldn't damage the grass or sprinklers (the crane had to drive up into the front lawn). They removed the oak tree in pieces, lifting it out via the crane-- it was nothing short of incredible to watch. They were very precise and did not damage our home or lawn as the crane maneuvered the tree pieces into the yard to be cut up. They also had no trouble with the pines, landing the branches exactly where they needed to in the yard to avoid any damage. Finally they ground the stumps and cleaned up, including raking the yard of debris and blowing off the street, sidewalk and driveway. We were amazed that you'd hardly have known so much work was going on that afternoon, the job site was so well cleaned up and without any property damage! Another great thing, they were very professional. No cursing or music, all workers were clean and polite and Mitch supervised the entire job. After using Mitch Drake & Sons twice now, I can say this is a company you can trust and there is no doubt they're the best in the business in North FL! Thanks Mitch and team!

A large crane had to be used for two trees in the front along with the power to the home being disconnected by JEA. Scheduled and executed with no problems. Great job!

They did an awesome job. They had a very competitive price, showed up when promised and completed the work quickly and the trees look great! They cleaned up the debris and left my yard and driveway looking better than before they came. I can't recommend them enough. BIG NOTE: This company has workman's comp for their employees. I was concerned with people climbing 30+ ft trees and any injuries and they have it covered.
