Terrible, see review above.
Description of Work: We have used Cooks Custom Service for 2-3 years to handle our Heating and A/C Systems and also work on our appliances. When we first moved to Destin, I had the owner, Roger Cook, come out and inspect all four of our Heating and A/C systems. He said everything was in tip top shape. We believed him, but we had problems from day one. We stopped using them for our Heating and A/C because we were spending so much money with them and things still kept going wrong. Subsequently, we have hired another company only to find out that many things have just been done wrong. We had some shut off valves put on our systems to that in the event that the froze up, they would shut off, thereby not generating floods, which we have had from 2 of our 4 systems. (one of these "floods" resulted in $8,000 worth of damage to our home). They put the shut off valves in the wrong place, so they would have been ineffective anyway. We had an error code on one our thermostats that wouldn't clear, they never could get that fixed or clear whatever the problem was to correct. We also used them to repair our Bosch washer and dryer. Our washer died and we bought a new one. Cook's has a very good service technician, John, who was to come out and install our new washer. They sent out their heating and air conditioning techs to install our washer. I was using the washing machine for the first time, and went it went into the spin cycle, it was rocking so bad it almost fell off the platform, I had to brace it to keep it from falling off. I can't think what might have happened if I had not been standing there at the time. Then I called them, they sent John out and he discovered they had not taken off the packaging material around the legs that should have been removed on installation. The next thing, is that I discovered that we were not getting any cold water to the washing machine. I discovered this upon washing (3) very expensive J. Crew sweaters on the hand wash cycle. They all shrunk. I was really upset about that! We called another appliance repair company, were charged $170.00 to find out that the Cooks installers switched the hot and cold water hoses. The ultimate, I called and left a message for Roger Cook to call me. He never had the professional courtesy or courage to return my call. I was willing to work out the problem with him, but obviously he's rather good at hiding behind his receptionist.

We have a Wolf outdoor grill which needed the ignitor assemblies replaced. Cook's came to the house a couple of years ago and said that it was useless to put new ignitors in because of being outdoors close to the Gulf, the sea air being damaging to the parts and they would constantly need to be replaced. Fine, we'll light this expensive, high-end grill with a Bic lighter. We just sold this house and part of the inspection report listed the grill as needing to be repaired. I called Cook's a couple of weeks ago and spoke with their service person, who said he remembered the grill and said that all those parts were firmly rusted into place and would need to be drilled out, possibly destroying the front of the grill and suggested that we buy a new one. I worked a couple of hours on the rusted parts myself, with Liquid Wrench and a hacksaw and was able to remove these assemblies with a little elbow grease and a lot of determination to make it easy for them to install the new parts, which I had already ordered and had received. I called Cook's again to set up a time for them to be installed, thinking it would be no problem for them. The service person I spoke with, even after I told him I got the old parts out, said that he had already talked to me about this and why was I calling again? I said again, "I have removed the old rusty parts, I would like for someone who knows what they're doing to install the new ones." He got very snarky and couldn't believe I was calling again about something he said couldn't be done. He says something like" Well, if you took the old ones out, you can reverse the process." I am a bit of a DIYer, but I know my shortcomings and I don't know enough about gas grills to repair them myself.I said words to that effect, and he says, " I'll come by and take a look and see if I want to do it." After hearing his impatient and unprofessional attitude, I told him, "Never mind, I'll call someone else." I know nothing about installing new parts where the old ones were half burnt up, rusted and some even just gone. I would not call them ever again to do anything. He was completely rude even after I had done half the job to make it easier for him.
Description of Work: The service I wanted performed was to replace the ignitor assemblies on our outdoor Wolf grill.

Overall, it cost me about $3500. They provide fast and quick response. They are professional. They got the job done and took care of me. They cleaned up after themselves. They did great work. I have referred them out for appliance repair.
Description of Work: Cook’s Custom Service Inc. installed an air conditioner for me in the fall of last year. They also installed a compressor in my house in July of 2008.
