Absolutely wonderful. Tom and the crew were excellent, courteous, informative and punctual. They (4 of them) came at about 8:15 a.m. and had the whole job (1 entry door, 1 slider door and 8 windows) done at 11:45 a.m. and cleaned up everything. Would definitely use them again!!

I'm not one who often writes a review, but in this case I feel compelled to do so. By far, this is one of the best experiences I have ever had with contractors working at my personal residence. The job went smoothly from beginning to end, my property was respected while the work was in progress, and the cleanup upon completion left it looking better than before the work began. Tommy, is the owner and the person who leads the work, along with his son, his wife, and his partner. Exactly what was said would be done, was in fact done. The quality, and the time to start and finish the job, was exactly as promised. For those who think that all accordian shutters are equal, I can emphatically state that is simply not the case. I have owned several homes on which I had accordian shutters installed, none of those previous jobs can compare with the material and workmanship that Coastal provided. Would I use them again? In a heartbeat. I was not asked to write this review, nor did I know of Coastal prior to finding them on Angie's List. I have no reason to recommend them other than to help others get the best job possible at the fairest price. These are hardworking, meticulous people, who go out of their way to do the job better than anyone else. You will not be disappointed.

The installation went great, Coastal Shutters and Stuff did an outstanding job and I would recommend them to anyone that would need Hurricane Shutters on their house or business.

Coastal Shutters n Stuff was our second of three estimates. They were the highest bid. There were several reasons we went with Coastal. 1) Tommy was not only the Owner but also was the salesman and the installer. Unlike the other bidders, he could explain in detail the benefits of grades of shutters and what they meant in practical layman's terms. 2) We also had a unique window next to the front door which required a brace to fit behind the gutter. Tommy explained and told us it was his problem and he would take care of it. The other bidders told us we would have to make modifications to the gutter. My husband really liked that. 3) I liked that Tommy took into consideration the decorative window borders and would put the shutters outside the borders for aesthetic appearances. He knew I wanted to preserve the beauty while getting the benefits and ease of accordion shutters. Coastal filed the necessary paperwork for the permit. The shutters were ready on schedule. The install went as predicted and the shutters look great. Coastal also included portholes on every set of shutters and eight portholes on the set of shutters across our back porch. The bid was spot on. There were no overages or sudden price increases. There were no shortcuts or scrimping. The job was very well done. INCIDENTALS: They even helped us move our pool rail to accommodate the shutters on the back porch.....something which was not part of the bid. They clean up everything even thoroughly wiping down each set of shutters. Tommy even came back the next day to see if we needed any minor adjustments. With the additional dimensions of the decorative borders taken into consideration, Coastal was probably inch for inch the lowest bid in the end. Price, Experience, Knowledge, Consideration of Factors and Professionalism all get the highest marks. One final comment, the city inspector was here today. As he left, i asked if everything was okay. He said, "That is a really good job." This is our second set of shutters from Coastal. They did another house for us four years ago. As for "Do's", hire them. As for "Don'ts, don't wait. Need i say more? We have received NO consideration for this review. It is honest and correct.

The crew arrived when scheduled and performed the work over a period of three days. There were two crew members and they worked diligently being sure to mount bolting hardware symmetrically. We went with a bargain price option opting for used shutters, to our surprise the shutters all appeared to be new, in fact I believe they were. The crew installed the shutters to be sure they fit perfectly. Once they and we were satisfied that everything they did was correct the crew took the shutters down and stacked them neatly in our shed. They provided four copies of a diagram depicting the shutter arrangement; each shutter was marked (numbered) according to the drawing. They even provided rubber covers to conceal the treaded rods sticking out from the house. Before signing a contract with Coastal Shutters and Stuff we shopped around and found they had the best price by far. By having this work performed we were able to get a lower premium on our home owners insurance!

I was very pleased with the complete process from getting the estimate to installation! Once the shutters were installed, they cleaned the shutters and also cleaned up the work area! They were very friendly and professional! I highly recommend Coastal Shutters to anyone who is looking to have hurricane shutters installed on their home at an affordable and competitive price! The shutters are made of high quality material!
