+ 0 moreAwful. I just moved to a new area and got the deal for 99 dollars. They called me and asked me when they wanted them to come. I told them I would let them know when I'm ready because I haven't moved yet. A couple of weeks went by and then I needed them. I had some ceiling fans to put up. I told them I had issues with not being able to see to get in at night. I told them I wasn't sure how far my 99 dollar deal went and would they please let me know. Russ said that he was coming from Fort Pierce and that's 45 minutes away from you. I am like okay. I didn't think that mattered where he was coming from. I again stated for him to tell me how much more it was going to be to get these things done since the deal said two electricians for two hours. He fixed the outside light problem. He taped over the light switch. Then he said my dimmer switch is bad. Then by this time it has been 28 minutes and he said well your time is up but we can fix the dimmer switch for 50 dollars. So I said, you know what, don't worry about it I'm not going to continue to use you, you can leave because there deal doesn't turn out to be a deal. I told him you have only been here twenty eight minutes and did trouble shooting and your telling me that each job is going to take 45 minutes so I was just like you are out of my budget. He put in a cheap dimmer switch in before he left.

Description of Work: Bought the Angie's lust deal to have my electrical panel labed. We have three breaker boxes and I only needed one labeled and thought it was going to be nicely labeled as the advertisement showed. They wrote with a marker and most Is not legible. They did tighten all my breaker screws..as part of my comprhensive electrical inspection . But they were only here to make a buck and try to find something wrong. I am very dissatisfied that the breakers were not labeled with a tidy label what I thought I paid for.

+ -1 more): TERRIBLE!!! I had to pay another company to come to my house and finish the job, which they did in 30 minutes. I’m appalled that someone from Blakeslee didn’t even call to apologize or offer to come back and complete the job or fix the mess their guys left in my house.
Description of Work: I contacted the company to hang a pendant light over the kitchen sink. When the two electricians arrived, they first told me they used 45 minutes of the 2 hours in travel. Then they told me they thought they were fixing broken outlets. Then they told me it was going to take a “really long time” to do the work requested. Then they said they needed two junction boxes (basic equipment that should have been in their supply in their van) to do the work and wanted to leave to go to Home Depot to get it (on my nickel). I left my home and went for them. After cutting a hole in the ceiling & wall, they went in the attic, put a screwdriver through my FR ceiling, knelt on the high hat light & pushed it through the kitchen ceiling, then told me they couldn’t do the job because there was a roof joist in the attic. The one guy actually felt sorry for his “unprofessionalism” and offered to hang a light over my kitchen table instead. It took them about 20 minutes to do so. They left and promised to come back in two weekends to finish the job. I have not heard from the company since that time. No apology, no offer to repair the mess they left. I had to call in another company to finish hanging the pendant light. This new company had the job completed in 30 minutes (unlike the Blakeslee guy who told me it was going to take a “really long time.”) I can’t believe how unprofessional this company is!

+ 0 moreWednesday they were about an hour late which I understand happens. Upon arrival tech asked what they were to do. Explained about inspection and flickering lights. Forgot to mention foyer light did not work. Tech seemed more interested in up selling gfi circuits for kitchen and bath. I agreed to gfi however they could not get them to fit in existing box. Explained they would reschedule to install gfi in panel I decline. They completed work and left. Never mentioned foyer light wasn't working, lights are still flickering and they left 3 breakers turned off in box.
Description of Work: Electrical inspection and corresponding repairs for lights that flicker on inherited house that was vacant and on market called Friday June 20 to set appointment for following Wednesday. They indicated they would come by that day or would call back to schedule for Wednesday. Did not show up or call until I called them Tuesday afternoon late to schedule time.

I disliked it that they did not leave an invoice, other than that I do not have anything on record in case something electrical happens to show that they did the work. I have not had any issues since the service was provided and I would recommend that they leave an invoice. They did good workmanship and were prompt. The guys were real nice and explained everything. They cleaned up after they got finished. Overall I was satisfied, but I wanted an invoice.
Description of Work: I used Blakeslee Electrical Contractors to install recessed lighting in one of my bedrooms.

Six months later they sent us a bill for the exact same amount. They said they were getting a new computer but they had it worked out.

+ 0 moreThe owner, Fred, was very rude! He didn't discuss the travel rates until after the work was completed! They couldn't even complete the work they came out to do! They came out to replace the exhaust fan in the bathroom and a TV on the kitchen wall. He couldn't get the fan off, but could possibly replace the fan motor only. They told me they would order the part and call me when the part comes in. I had a handyman from Angie's List come out and replace the fan in an hour! They didn't get the chance to mount the TV on the kitchen wall because Comcast was also at the house and said it could not be done on that wall. They ended up setting up my TV and DVR for $211. I am very disappointed and far from happy with this service. They were very unprofessional, discussing how Angie's List conducts business through the contracts that the company had set up with Angie's List. That is your own business- do not discuss it with clients! It is not right for you to go behind Angie's List back when you are contractually obligated to work with them!
Description of Work: This company had me purchase a Big Deal from Angie's List directly through them and going around Angie's List. He then did not inform me that the $111 for 2 hours electrical services would include travel time. He added $100 on for the travel time!

When I was informed the time started when they left their shop (which was approximately 20 minutes away) and they had not even been to evaluate my electrical needs, I cancelled the appointment. I was informed at the time I scheduled the appt. that the hourly rate after the "big deal offer" was $100.00 an hour...I could have been looking at a $400.00 bill - not what I signed up for.

Repaired garage coach lights and put them on a timer. Put a power box on my shed. Put in a drop light over a breakfast table. Followed wiring from switches I had no idea what they did. I will be contacting them for a couple more repairs I just discovered.
