Things went fine until the installation was being completed of the new compressor that had locked up and blew the breaker. The technician told me that his company did not give him a new filter dryer so he did not remove the existing filter dryer that is almost rusted through. At the time when he had the system drained and cut open so now I have no warranty left and an old filter dryer thats going to blow and destroy my new compressor.Spoke to the owner he told me that if I pay for another service he would come out and correct the mistake...I said NO THANK YOU!!!so here we are, I’m going to be forced to hire another company at my expense to avoid the inevitable

On 2/5 My upstairs A/c wasn't working. Advantage Air came and "fixed" it for $204.23 On 2/12 it wasn't fixed, I was charged $25.00. On 3/16 They installed a new A/C for $3,750.00 (off brand, not the rudd on their web page)I was told the lines were fine. On 7/2 my ceiling flooded. I called a roofer that looked and said the water was coming a duct taped pipe from the A/c. I called ,repairman came and the first words before he even looked was" that's not a warrantied item. He said the drain was clogged and that's what caused the leak. I told him less than 4 months before I was told that they were fine. He tried to tell me that they can clog in that time. I have lived in South Florida for 27 years and never had one clog. He brought over a vacuum, cleared the drain and charged me $85.00. Before he left, he went up and got the duct taped pipe and took it with him.. Advantage Air is the perfect name for them, I was definitely taken Advantage of.

All four installations were professional installed, with attention to detail. The work was done in a timely manner, they were very clean and neat. I would definitely use them again. Since the install I have use Advantage Air Conditioning for the service and in the last three years i have never had a problem. I have been using Advantage Air Conditioning for over 23 years and have been very happy with their service.

The first technician came to house and determined that there were two faulty relay switches that should be replace to prevent the unit from tripping the main breaker in the house electrical panel. The technician forwarded the information to his Office to have the part ordered ($85.00 for the service call) The Company neglected to order the part or to re-schedule another appointment to have it installed. I called the original service tech personally and HE made the effort to find the correct part in their warehouse and correct the Company's mishandling of this. Day (3) service techs arrived to install the part. Charged for another service call plus parts approximately $150 and it worked for 48 hours. Came to find out later that the part was installed incorrectly, the screws were not tightened which cause the switch to overheat and small electrical fire to breakout in the outside unit. Whether this was intentional or due to incompetence is unknown, but there was considerable pressure put on my wife that we should purchase a new system by the technician doing the work. (We have since gotten a second opinion on our equipment by two independent sources that refute this claim.) A new set of switches were re-installed the next day and the unit worked for 2 weeks before it began to trip the interior breakers again. At that time we called a new company, Osteen Heating and Cooling, who replaced a potential relay and start capacitor. According to the 2nd Company, " Someone had put in a cheap T-05 on this dual stage Trane Compressor and it was only feeding the Low stage Compressor ". My wife later took the parts to The Office of Advantage Air and spoke to the owner. She told me later, he spoke to her in a manner which was totally unprofessional and unheard of in ANY BUSINESS TO A CUSTOMER REGARDLESS OF THEIR CLAIM. My wife is an intelligent and soft-spoken person. His tirade was abusive and shocking. He told my wife that, and I quote, "You are so full of s***, your eyes are brown.? Now, I have been in the customer service business myself for over 26 years, and I have dealt with customer who have issues, and their complaints may have even seemed frivolous, but never have I heard of any employee or manager, let alone an OWNER of a company, speak a customer with that kind of language. There is an old saying, "When the fish stinks, it stinks from the head down"! This company stinks.
Description of Work: The initial service call was to repair a non-functioning outside air conditioner- heat exchange unit.

We are very satisfied with them. They are very thorough and good. They are punctual and on-time. They were just what we bought. We have an annual policy with them. There were no unexpected issues. The price is average. They came out for the repair on a very short notice. They were there when they told me they would and got it done within a reasonable amount of time.
Description of Work: We have had work and tune-up done by Advantage for our air conditioning. The last time they came out was for a tune-up on two of our air conditioners.

They're very overpriced, and I think I'll be moving on to someone else. They tried to charge $135 on a $50 thermostat that other companies quoted me around $110. From a technical point of view, they don't seem to be that good.
Description of Work: They do the maintenance on the A/C unit I purchased from them in the past.

They were right on time. Same date, same time they said they would. They did everything to our satisfaction. I few days later I got worried because 2 of the rooms in my house were not getting air. They came back out and unclogged some vents the previous owners had installed. They fixed the clogs and now I get air in those rooms. A month later my system is still working great.
Description of Work: I hired them to put in a Rheem air conditioner and condenser system.

They didn't pull a permit for the job. The price was ridiculous. They were liars and thieves. A year later, I was having problems with mold growing inside the unit. They goaded me into paying $950 to install two blue lights, which were worth about $125. They took about 15 to 20 minutes to install. I believed that it would be beneficial for my girlfriend, who has asthma. They had to come back after they pulled the permit to redo some wiring that wasn't within code. They also had to reinsulate the lower plenum. I called and called, and they would tell me that everything was okay. I even signed up for their flimsy service plan. I asked one of them to check my duct work upstairs. He left a whole cigarette up there that he must have lit and put down. It was laying in my insulation. He told me he no longer works there. When I called to ask about how much the blue lights cost, they didn't even care. They are underwritten by Home Depot as one of their approved installers. Home Depot didn't call me back about them.
Description of Work: They installed a new air conditioner.

I had Advantage Air Conditioning install an A/C unit in my house in August of 2009. At the time of receiving a quote I showed a "problem room" to the salesperson. This room was consistently warmer than the rest of the house. I asked the salesperson specifically to make sure that it cooled well. He assured me that he would be able to fix the problem by simply adding a "pass through" from the room into the main living area. It did not fix the problem. After the unit was installed the room was consistently several degrees warmer than the rest of the house. After several visits by different technicians for the company I was finally told that they had not fixed the problem and further work would need to be done at an additional cost. I requested that the work be done for free and was denied on the basis that they would have charged me for the additional amount anyway at the time of the install if they had known that it was needed. My position was (and is) that they had promised to correct the problem in the room and did not and should therefore stand by their word and correct the problem no matter the additional cost. I was told specifically by the salesperson, to my face, that it was their mistake and his fault that they had not taken the actions necessary to correct the problem. This was said in the presence of another person, my wife. After eventually speaking to the owner he once again denied my request. He not only denied my request but was also belligerent and threatening to me. When I told him I would report him to the Better Business Bureau and other consumer protection companies/agencies he threatened me with suing by saying (and I quote to the best of my memory) "Be careful what you go around saying cause that could get you sued." I took this to be a personal threat to be sued. When I pointed out that his decision reflected on he and his company's character he then attacked my character and said it reflected on me that I wanted something in return for free. I was completely offended by his remarks during the telephone conversation and astounded that he so belligerently refused to provide me with not only good customer service but a simple follow through on their promise. As a side note they offered to refund the money for the pass through and then install the additional work. I found this to be an unacceptable solution since a pass through (at his admittance) costs a very small amount and the additional work needed was much more expensive.
Description of Work: They installed an entirely new air conditioning system in my house and provided a "pass through" from a "problem room" into the main area of the house and installed an air return from another room back to the air handler.
