Approximately 5 years ago I was referred to a real estate agent in another state by a VIP realtor who is a friend. My husband and I were searching for a vacation home. At the time of the referral I did not find a suitable home I wanted to purchase. I recently returned to the area to resume my search and contacted the agent to whom I had been referred. I also contacted the VIP agent who had given me the original referral to advise her that I was resuming my search. This time we were successful in finding a property to purchase. Two days prior to closing I was contacted by the VIP agent who told me of a dispute between herself and the agent she had referred me to over her referral fee. She then proceeded to have the person at VIP who is in charge of referrals contact me. They put me right in the middle of this dispute which had absolutely nothing to do with me!!!!! I simply cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism displayed by these actions. They both engaged in the defamation of the agent to whom I had been referred, one of them even calling him a "scumbag"! It turns out that the referring agent had not renewed the referral which expires after 24 months. She was using me to bully her way into getting her fee. Although the deal did close, it was a very unpleasant experience. I should state that we own three other properties, so we are not novices when it comes to purchasing real estate. Involving a client in a dispute about commissions/fees is beyond my comprehension. What should have been a very happy time for us had been seriously marred by this incident. We will not do business with VIP again, nor will we refer anyone to them. UNPROFESSIONAL no matter how you look at it!

We contacted the agent, Todd Tooley, and he showed us many homes. We were uncertain exactly what we were looking for and Mr. Tooley was very patient with us and didn't try to push us into purchasing when we weren't ready. After several months of looking we found the one we wanted. The purchasing process was handled in a timely and professional manner. Mr. Tooley was a delight to work with. He always returned our calls promptly and accomodated our schedule. He was very knowledgable, friendly, courteous, and professional. I would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: My wife and I purchased a home using the real estate services of Todd Tooley of VIP Realty.

The entire process of making the offer and purchasing a property from another state causes you to rely on the realtor to let you know what's happening. We were pleased and amazed at the level of communication - regular emails and phone calls with each update. We were never "in the dark" and Denise and Gordon Corey worked hard to make it a smooth transaction for us, although, technically, they were employed by the seller and the bank. If we need to choose a realtor to buy or to sell, we would call upon this team because we came to trust them.
Description of Work: We found our house online and it was listed by Gordon Corey of The Gordon Corey Connection. It was a short sale, and we'd known of the potential nightmares of trying to buy a short sale property. From our first contact with Gordon and his wife Denise who handles the business part of the sale, we were impressed with their knowledge, experience and honesty. They constantly kept us updated as to the progress of the process. When trying to purchase a short sale property you absolutely need to work with someone who understands the process and Denise knows what she's doing -got us closed in record time (just over a month!). Gordon continues to be helpful even after the sale in referring us to some great people who have done repairs for us. Note on "how much did you spend?($): The real estate commission was paid by the seller and/or seller's bank

From the beginning they made me feel comfortable. We had a problem with Fannie Mae and they put in many hours and phone calls to help us settle on time. They were both fabulous!!!
Description of Work: I moved here from New Jersey. My realtors (John Shields and Steven Debiaso) were fabulous. They worked with me here and long distance daily to get my family the perfect home.
