Description of Work: Had them measure my boat and give me a price on s small Bimini top in early Dec. 2015 I was patient but when it got to be mid Jan. 2016 I started to complain. Finally In early March after many calls they finished the job. End product was nice but wow, took for ever

Description of Work: I took the canvas enclosure from our boat (a cabin cruiser) to have some panels and zippers replaced. I collected it a few days later, attempted to put it back on the boat and discovered the zippers had no pulls on them. |This means, of course, that they had sent out the canvas without checking to see everything worked. So back to their workshop, an hour's drive each way, and then back again to collect the rectified item. Or so I thought. I tried to put it on the boat only to find that the two sides of some of the zippers were different sizes, so they could not be zipped together. So again, they had sent something out without checking it. Back again to take it in, and back again to collect it. Virtually nothing resembling an apology, in fact, I felt like I was troubling them. I asked if they did not check work before they released it and the male owner replied "apparently not". The snitty female owner said "we've replaced all the zippers again". But before I took the canvas away this time I began to check every aspect of the work in their presence, and the woman repeated, even more snittily, "I've just told you, we've replaced all the zippers". |I told her I didn't trust their work, but again no apology.

+ 0 moreMy husband brought the chair in for a quote and when I brought the same chair in, Laurie quoted a different price. I did add the cost of some casters to the repair but that still didn't make up for the price difference. I was told the job would take 3 weeks and it turned out to be 3 months. I called several times and was told that they were very busy. When the chair was finally completed, they called us to pick it up. My husband was shocked at the unprofessional work. There was residue and chucks of glue everywhere along the brass tacks, deep scratched on the wood trim and the leather welting cords are uneven. We refused to accept the work and they attempted to fix it twice but it still looks horrible. I would NEVER return to Top Stitch or recommend their services for anything. I wish I could post a picture on Angie's List to verify this poor and unacceptable work!

+ 0 moreI visited their shop and got an cost estimate of the labor charge for the work. My wife visited the shop and picked up some sample material swatches. She selected the material and we were given a quote for the entire job. A formal quotation was provided to us and we placed the order and gave them a deposit which covered the cost of the material. A short time later they said the material had arrived and they would pick up the chair on a certain date. They came on time and took the chair. About 2 weeks later they said the recliner was done. They made the delivery and we paid the balance of the quote. There were no surprises or extra charges and the pick up & delivery charges were included even though the quote did not list those items. They followed all but one requirement of ours but we like the alternative they provided and we accepted the recliner. The owner and his helper were polite careful and were very pleasant. All in all I would recommend Top Stich Upholstery without any reservation.

+ 0 moreI had two quotes, and Top Stich was quite a lot lower, so I was concerned about the result. I did get one good reference fro a marina, so I went a head. The crew showed up on time, assessed the situation, and ot it done. They disassembled panels in the compartment, scraped off old deteriorated foam, lined panels and surfaces with new foam and carpet material (they called it hull liner) and finished off all details. It looks better than new !

+ 0 moreThe boat was taken to their yard for a template to be cut (and the original awning piece was provided as well). It was taken back a week later for the new awning to be fitted and installed. The second time the boat was used after the new awning was in place the zippers ripped out of the new canvas. The canvas was returned to the company and they had to make a new one which took a few days. When we collected it, and tried to attach it to the boat we found the pull for one of the zippers was missing. We had to return the canvas again. When it came back this time the pull had been added but we discovered that the two halves of the zipper were different sizes so it could not be joined. Back again. This time a new zipper was sewn in but when we went to attach it to the boat, the awning is really too small and does not fully close. Also the stitching does not seem strong enough and is already pulling out of the canvas. The new canvas is not as strong as the old one and even after all these returns it still is too small.
Description of Work: Make a new front awning for a boat and repair tears and zippers on rear awning.
