Their prices were very fair on the tile. Part of the reason I chose the tile was to get a paper-clip grout line. I also got good direction on my tile choice- I wanted a tile that was fairly slip resistant since I have a pool. The sub who installed did a great job- but there were a couple of issues. I had asked to have the baseboards pulled if they couldn't fit the tile under the existing baseboard. Came home while they were dry fitting to see that the sub was running tile up to the baseboard- it wouldn't fit under. Called them to remind them about pulling the baseboard. Also came home to find that the tile was being installed with a 1/16" grout line because they found the concrete was so wavy that the paper clip grout line would be far too difficult and expensive. Was dissapointed that they didn't discuss with me before going ahead with the 1/16" grout instead of the paper-clip since that had been a major selling point. Had to double the amount of mortar from the original estimate. Also had to go buy metal edging for the patio doors to get a finished edge. There was a fine crack in the subfloor that needed to have a vinyl patch once the existing floor was out. Overall- job came in about $500 over the estimate and I ended up calling them two or three times during the job with concerns. My salesman went on vacation right after the install began, but I had his cell. Job took about a week- they covered everything and contained the mess as much as possible. My house has lots of angles, and they did a great job with the layout. I've only found a couple of tiles that aren't perfectly aligned. The grout work is a masterpiece. I had my handyman install 5 1/4" baseboard after the job was complete- it cost $1500 but transforms the house. The floor looks great, and overall I'm very pleased.
Description of Work: Had tile removed and replaced in about 1800 sq. ft. I chose a 20X20 rectified faux travertine tile for most of the house and a 12X24 rectified tile for the master bath.

Tile ordered and paid for at Tile Market (TM). Installer sub recommended by TM visited & gave estimate. Installer stated that he (the owner) would be present during install and would be doing the work himself. This was a KEY factor for us. TM added the labor to our order and stated that removal of the existing tile was included. On the day of install, James at TM informed us that installer would be arriving between 9 and 9:30. Tile installer finally arrived at 11. Upon arriving he told us that he had not been informed by TM that removal of existing tile needed to be performed. He wanted an additional $120 for that. We weren't happy, but we accepted it in the interest of keeping job on-track. The installer then informed us that he would not personally be on the job site during the install. At this point we called TM and stated that we were canceling install. We would keep the tile we paid for, but install was off. James at TM said we couldn t keep the tile and then hung up on us.
Description of Work: Job was canceled on day install was to be performed. See explanation below.
