Description of Work: Nothing. Ended in court to get our money back. Had done siding prior that was ok. Then we contracted for a large screen job. Took our money and then delayed for months with one excuse after another. One of the worst experiences of my life.

The job was poorly done. New gutter leaked. Half of splash guard rippled. SG was not fastened. Workers tore screen and didn't come back until later in the week to install new screen which was not done correctly. They left gaps and a couple of holes. Contractor felt my complaints were valid and agreed to correct them. I requested a different crew as I had no confidence in original crew. He agreed they were not good at finish work. He finally decided to sub it out to a screening company. He told me the corrections would be done in one day. However, sub did not have all the material. He re-screened satisfactorily yet never did anything with splash guard and only intended to caulk the leak, not correct the problem. Neither the contractor, nor the sub-contracter, ever returned to finish the job. This is now 10 weeks since I signed the contract for a relatively minor job. In order to get info or schedule work, I had to continually call the contractor. All in all, this project has left me aggravated, inconvenienced and with an incomplete and inferior job.
Description of Work: The estimate of $1,962 was for this company, also known as Southern Home Service, to replace a leaking lanai gutter and install splash guard above inset area. I paid half at signing of contract.

The deposit was returned in full. There was no scam. The client did not allow contractor to perform the work by properly signing off on engineering required to permit the work. The client was abusive & threatening to every member of the staff on several occasions. The Member and his partner became impossible to communicate with because of the threatening nature of their conversations. This issue was resolved in Jan/Feb 2007 with the full deposit returned to the Member. Southern Siding Window & Door was out the costs of time spent planning the job and fees paid to the engineering firm for the elevations.
