I can't say enough good things about Rich and Southern Living Contractors Inc. We had just closed on a house and walked in to a leak in the kitchen faucet which had completely ruined the cabinets in a 12 foot kitchen island. Rich was there within a moments notice to assess the situation and get started on repairing the damage. He had his team assembled within hours and got to work right away on replacing the cabinets so we could enjoy our new kitchen. He custom built the new cabinets to the exact measurements of the old cabinets so they would fit back with the existing granite and doors and they were BETTER than new! All of his contractors are extremely professional and cleaned up after themselves through every step. Rich communicated with us through every step of the process so there were zero surprises. We couldn't be more thankful of the work that they did and will definitely be using Southern Living Contractors for the future remodeling of our bathrooms.

Rich and Brian were great. The job started while we still lived in Washington, D.C. and they were great about sending photos of the work in progress. Once we arrived, they worked hard to get the house into a livable state so that we could move in rather than staying in a temporary rental situation. They also tried to be as unobtrusive as possible as they worked to finish the interior work while we were living in the house. Most importantly, they did what they said they would do, they did it in a timely manner, and they did not present us with any big surprises regarding cost overruns. Unless the additional work was the result of a change request made by us, they stuck to their original quote to the dollar. They even credited me any costs of things I purchased rather than them buying them - like some lighting fixtures we purchased ourselves. I would highly recommend this company for your renovation work in Southwest Florida.

Where to begin. I've waited a few weeks before posting this review hoping Rich would contact me (like he said he would) to explain his actions, but alas-- he never has. So here's what happened: My elderly mother wanted to remodel her large kitchen and so I took some vacation time and flew out to help her secure a contractor and quite honestly make sure she didn't get ripped off. We bid out a full remodeling of our kitchen ( a big job that included retiling 1100 sq ft of the house because of the open floor plan) to several companies. At first Rich was great. Seriously great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Because we wanted to really invest in our floors and an exotic granite for the countertops we decided to save some money and go with Home Depot semi custom cabinets. Rich went out of his way to take us to meet an excellent kitchen designer there and walk us through that process. He also made a second trip out to our house with his architect Brian ( I think that was his name) to ensure we had the most precise measurements. Throughout this entire process he was very accessible via email/ phone or text and repeatedly told me that he was and quot;all for us getting the better dealand quot; and if I found other vendors or products at a better rate he'd be more than happy to incorporate them. He gave us one quote based on the home depot plan and then revised it using Timberlake ( I guess he's a rep or had a connection there). I called and checked his references who said he was excellent. Everything was fine and I verbally told him that we wanted to move forward with him and released the other contractors' bids. We asked that he prepare his final quote for us by the end of the following week ( as I was leaving to go back to work). End of the week comes...no bid. I call and text a few times reminding him about my timetable annnnnnd....silence. Then literally at 4:57pm on the day before I'm supposed to leave he TEXTS me saying and quot;sorry I've been busy and by the way I've reconsidered my position and don't want to pursue your projectand quot; Um. W**? I call him instantly and get his voicemail where I leave a message expressing my shock and asking if something has happened etc etc? He texts me back again ( never calls) and says he will call me first thing in the AM to explain. That was oct 24....I've never heard from him since then. Since then my Mom and I have assumed that when he finally got down to crunching the numbers...maybe he wasn't making enough on the job to make it worth his while (???) I don't know (our projected budget was 42K) but what I do know is you don't wait until someone is about to board a plane to say, and quot;oh, actually....nahand quot;. He left us hanging in radio silence for a week (time I could've spent re-contacting the other contractors had I known something was amiss) and then pulled the rug out from under us without even having the decency to speak to us. Sooooo.... there you have it.
