The work was excellent, but the business practices of the contractor were abysmal. We agreed on a price, which included a glass shower enclosure. We asked for some added items in the bathroom , and the workman recommended an additional item. There was never any agreement as to price. After the work was done, we were submitted what we believed was an unreasonable change order. If we were given the choice before hand we probably wouldn’t have agreed to it, and we would have gotten another contractor to do the items we wanted. Since we were never quoted prices for the added work, we assumed the contractor was including the added items as an accommodation. We did Agee verbally to pay $200 to get a door rehung, which was on the change order, but no other prices were ever mentioned.To add insult to injury, the contractor tried to shake us down for an added $500 for work covered under the original contract. He waived the bogus charge once we agreed to pay his unauthorized charges on the change order.
