"The monitoring contract is a yearly contract that must be canceled 30 days before the renewal date. The [removed member name] used 8 months of there 12 month contract. With paying a year in advance they also received a free month that they also lost.Our yearly rate is $21.00 a month and our monthly rate is $30.00 a month which they used 8 months for a total of $240.00 and paid $231.00 so there was no refund due. I am sorry that they feel this way about our company and lee county"
It went badly. Less than one week before the annual contract was up I received a bill for next year. No Thank you, no how are we doing. I had to cancel in writing because non payment does not constitute cancellation. There was barely time to get the cancellation in the mail.
I wanted to use a local company, but in this case it did not pay. Ron and Sons was supposed to send a certificate to our insurance company so we would receive a discount for our fire and security alarms. It took months and repeated phone calls. We actually lost money because the insurance company would not apply the discount retroactively after they got the letter.
We went with ADT instead. They will take care of security and maintaining the alarm for only a little more money. In addition the people at ADT were nicer.
"I’m Sorry that you were so unhappy with our service. We are not just a monitoring company; we pride ourselves on our service. We have been servicing systems in Southwest Florida for 38 years and have thousands of happy customers. Also, our monitoring customers do receive a discount on service calls. We hooked up the O’Neill’s security system in the beginning of April. We did not charge the O’Neill’s for any service at that time, only for the monitoring fee and a couple batteries. We returned at the end of April to show them how to use the system again, and once again did not charge them for a service call. I don’t really understand the complaint of our service charges, when they never were charged for one. Our billing goes out on the 15th of each month, giving our customers about two weeks before the beginning of the next month. Beyond that we give our customers until the 15th of the following month before they would be in past due status. When new customers sign up the contract states all cancellations must be received in writing 30 days prior to renewal, not when the bill is due. For the safety of our customers we require cancellations in writing"
