NEW CODE WINDOWS & DOORS

On 09/25/09, I entered a contract with New Code Windows and Doors?(Job#21313 ) to install?impact windows on my home and hurricane shutters on my lanai. ?Half payment was made prior to work beginning. ?All components were installed Dec. 09, with the exception of a ?screen track which did not fit the triple slider window on the rear of the house but I was promised it would be installed promptly. Full payment was made at that time. They never returned. There is damage to the wall from storm shutter installation. The County inspection was never completed. I am now receiving notices from subcontractors regarding "Claim of Lien" ?on ?my property stating FL law allows consumer to have to pay twice if subcontractors are not paid. I have called the business several times, no response. I sent a Certified letter asking for resolution, explaining I would have no recourse but to notify you, the BBB and WINK News. The owner, Mr. Hoovis, called three times that day, asking to rectify the situation. He immediately returned my Teacher (Hero Care) refund, per agreement. Mr. Hoovis promised to rectify all issues, asking that I help his business through referrals. He has not resolved any issues. He is either "not in" or "in a meeting" when I phone. He has not returned my calls. The total Amount paid was $25,278.00 through Bank of America . The sales rep, Diane Ace, is no longer with the company. I am receiving ?"Claim of Lien" letters from PGT Industries (windows) and Croci (Shutters). I believe in BBB and checked New Codes rating before signing. They hold an "A" rating with BBB.? I want New Code to complete the unfinished work: installing the track and screen for triple slider on West side of house, repair damage to wall from shutter installation, provide "release of lien" from all subcontractors and complete County inspection for work completion. In other words, simply complete my original contract with New Code. They have been paid in full in a timely manner but have not upheld their part of the contract.

I was very pleased with their work and service and the result.

There was a problem with getting them to come out and give a firm date. But this may have been because it was right after the hurricanes and they could have been overwhelmed. Once they give you a date, it's pretty firm and they do come out on time. They were very quick once they got out. They had the windows installed in less then a day. They cleaned up well when they were through. If needed, I would use them again.

Once they get the product made and get it in they are able to do the installation fast. The installation only took about one day for the door and a day and a half for the windows. They cleaned up beautifully when they were completed and they came out on time. We would use them and have even recommended them to others that have since used this company. I even received a referral reward for it!The windows cost $1,800 and the door cost $6,000.
