They did an excellent job, and they were very professional. They didn't go over the estimate they gave us. They showed up when they were supposed to. There was one minor problem, but they took care of it and handled it very professionally. I would highly recommend them.

He arrived as scheduled to perform the work ordered. For my large front window, he replaced the top track and all of the wheels/rollers. Jim cleaned and lubricated all of the remaining shutters . He is very professional, efficient, and clearly knows what is needed to fix problems related to hurricane shutters. I would definitely call Hurricane Safe Shutters again for shutter service, and would ask for Jim as the service tech.

DJ came to the house within a week of our initial call and provided detailed estimate. He walked all around the perimeter of the house to ensure that he was understanding exactly what we desired. He provided very detailed information regarding their company and explained how their shutter installation differed from other companies. Initially he seemed like a "used car salesman", trying to get a commitment from us to sign a contract that same day for an excellent price. However, he did not pressure us once we told him we wanted to get other estimates and talk about it. This company did have the best price and DJ promptly returned 2 days later when we called with our decision to use Hurricane Safe. In the interim, we found out that two of our friends used this company and gave glowing endorsement for them. The office staff kept us informed every step of the way during the process and notified us when the permit went through. The two installers (Mike & Tony) arrived promptly at the time promised and completed the installation by early afternoon. They took the time to explain how the shutters were installed, how they worked, how to stack them in the open position when not in use, and how to lock them down. The owner (Waylan) called the following week to inquire about our satisfaction with the job and a week following that call, Tony & Mike returned to put clips on the entry door shutters to secure them more effectively in the open position. Jenny in the office, kept us apprised of the status of the inspection. Very pleased with this company and will contact them for any future shutter needs.

Mix up on start date but when I called Cindy in the office got the ball rolling. Cindy always kept in touch throughout the process. Nick and Paul came out and installed everything ,cleaned up and gave a demonstration on the use. They had to come out and put in more screws in the track for inspection purposes. Every time they came out Nick called me well in advance to make sure it was convenient for me. Two professional and good workers.

They arrived when scheduled and installed the shutters. One worker spat on our pool deck, but when I pointed out that we walked out there barefooted, he apologized and said he wasn't thinking. Workers cleaned up very well afterwards even wiping down the windows. The shutters failed the code inspection due to 3 missing screws and the shutters on the lanai not being grounded as required because they were less than 5 feet from the pool. The company came back about 10 days later after we called them twice and fixed the problems so that it passed inspection. The shutters look great. Overall we are satisfied and would recommend this company.

I have invited 5 vendors to give me quotations and Hurricane Safe Shutters was the lowest bidder, The salesman DJ Webner was instrumental in our decision. Mr. Webner was the most knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. I was very comfortable in dealing with him. I was against paying any deposit upfront from past experience, but Mr. Webner assured me that a little deposit would be acceptable. I made $2,000. deposit and the balance upon completion of the job in a satisfactory manner. They applied for the work permit and the HOA approval.. On the morning of 8 June, they called and 4 workers arrived and worked until 6:00 PM. They came the next morning and finished the job. The workers did an excellent job. They showed me how to open and close the accordion shutters as well as the roll down. These workers were really professionals and they worked very smoothly. They patched the walls, sealed and cleaned after the job was completed . I requested one more handle for the roll down shutters in case of power failure which was not included in the contract and they provided it without additional cost.. Here I would like to acknowledge the staff at the office of Hurricane Safe Shutters were all pleasant and courteous .

It was a long drawn out process. They way I see it since the company is debt free they can take their ever loving time to complete projects. Which is what happened to me. It started with a visit from the owner/salesman around the end of March. He was quite proud of being a debt free company. We talked about what we wanted and when it came to a price he played the slick sale move of offering us a break on the price if we said "yes" now. Of course we were ready to do the project anyway so we said "yes". He said their was going to be a 3 week delay to get permits and to manufacture what we wanted. He wanted $1800 as a down payment. So, three weeks later... With a call from their office we found out they were coming out to do our project. We were to expect them between 8am and 10am. they crew did not show up until 11am. But, they were ready to work. they installed the roll up first. During this installation they damaged a couple of screen panels on my neighbor's cage. I was told they would take care of the damage and had notified my neighbor. After the roll up was installed I was informed they did not have the other shutters and they would come back in a couple of days to finish the job. Oh, they did want an installment of $3000. A week or so went by and I called their office to find out the office people had no idea when they were going to come out. But, they did call back and said the crew would be out the next day but did not know when they would arrive. Two days later the crew showed up unannounced but was ready to finish the job. They went about their business and when I thought they were finished I was told they were one clear panel short and it would be another couple of days before they could install it and finish. It was now that they did replace the damaged screen on my nieghbor's cage. Another week passed and I started to call to find out when they were going to finish the job. The office people again did not know but they would try to find out. When two days passed I tried a couple of times to contact them but got only an answering machine and no call back from them. FINALLY, as I was going out I passed a pickup truck that looked like the guys who worked on my roll up. Fortunately I turned around and found them at my front door. I had no idea they were coming. They finished the job. When they were about to leave I had to ash them how I was to install the panels in case of a storm. I got a 15 second lesson of insert the panel here. A bolt goes here and the wing nut goes there. And they were gone. I still do not have a clue but I did find where they tossed the hardware on my garage floor and I will be trying to figure this out. Overall, I can not see how they can claim to be in such high acclaim as a company. Once they had a contract signed and money in handthey acted like they could care less when they were going to do this job. Their communications was poor at best especially when the work crew shows up on their time and not mine. Admin did not know what operations was doing and the owner seemed to concern himself with getting contracts signed. I will not recommend this company to anyone. Not after the way I was treated. The price of the job I felt was ok. As far a quality of the work, I guess it will be tested when a hurricane comes my way. 6/13/14: Had a phone call from the company wanting to resolve the issues I had brought up in this review. T.J. arrived unannounced (he was in the neighborhood) and we talked about the issues. T.J. was attentive as I spoke and understood where I was coming from. He did explain to me some of the issue they were having and their efforts to correct them. As he left I felt like he got the idea of communications goes along way to pleasing customers. I would recommend them to anyone needing hurricane shutters. I will use them again in the future if the need arrises. Final update: Talked to the owner, Waylon, who was appalled at what happened and offered his apology. My final thought is these guys are for real. The roll down shutter works like a champ and I was assured that they are making sure that this type of thing will never happen again. I totally recommend them.

The owner, Waylon, came out to give my husband and me an estimate. He was prompt and very professional. We were impressed with his product and the fact that they manufacture and install their own shutters. He explained the different products and how/if they would work on our windows. We decided on the accordion shutters as we felt they were the best option for our needs and budget. We felt the price was fair. It was 1 month almost to the day from the date we placed the order until they were installed. The installer was also very professional and worked efficiently and quickly. When he was done he demonstrated how they worked. All and all we are very pleased with this company. We would definitely recommend them.

Donald (DJ) Webner was quick to come out to discuss the project and to deliver a complete and fair proposal. He helped develop great solutions for putting shutters on some difficult openings. Over the course of several days we asked for alternate quotes for various options. The alternate quotes were always provided within hours. The company was able and very willing to work with our schedule (short time from ordering to installation; and our installation needed to be done during a specific week because of travel plans). The gentlemen who came to the house to install the shutters were professional, polite and very efficient. The work was done with no disruption to our activities. All affected areas were completely cleaned and all holes (from removal of old shutter tracks) filled in. Would absolutely use this firm again and would be glad to recommend to friends or family.

Everything was fine. The company I chose was slightly more professional than this one. They were overall very good.

When we had the initial visit, after the owner left, I almost felt like I had been pressured to sign the contract, Definitely not the way we like to do business. But we had had previous dealings with this company and as it turned out, their product is better made than their competitors which we were very happy to see. We had further questions about some installation and Steve had no problem coming out again and double checking our measurements, and was very receptive to all our questions. Their installers are exceptional and very professional. We made a changes actually during the installation going to a motorized front door enclosure and we were accommodated with no problem at all. This company does indeed have their own warehouse, their own installers, and stand behind their products and service. I'd recommend them without any hesitation.

The representative was very knowledgeable. However it took him 6 hours (required 2 visits) to complete the job. The hourly rate was much higher than expected for a laborer's job that took that long.

Hurricane Safe installed the motors on existing shutters. Their installers were professional and responsive. Unfortunately, the electrical contractor they worked with was not up to snuff and it took several iterations to get that part correct. Hurricane was very good and attentive to my tight timeline - even showing up on Saturday to complete the job. They arrived on time and cleaned up afterwards. They were very apologetic about the electrical and worked diligently with the contractor to get it right.

Everything went great! They did the shutters one day and the door the next business day. Tony and Mike did all the work and they did an absolutely great job. After the installation, I asked them to make some adjustments that were time consuming, but they did so with a smile on their faces and everything was done to my total satisfaction. The were very professional and cleaned up as they worked. I couldn't be happier. Danny provided me with a very fair estimate and as it turned out, it was the lowest one I received out of 4 total. They did everything they said they would do and the price held firm to the end, even though I asked them to do some adjustments. Everything was done to perfection. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants quality work done to specifications for a low price. I am very picky and the work was fantastic.

For the most part their service was excellent from the bidding process, to the preparation work (A second person came out and measured the openings again to be sure.) A date was set and we were told we would receive a call if they weren't coming by nine in the morning. Here's the only disconnect, when noon came I called their office and was told that someone in the administration process had forgotten to call and they would be here early afternoon. The installers showed up after 2:30 PM. The install went well, it's a noisy process so deal with that. The installers stayed until after 5:30 PM and finished the job and then showed me how to use the shutters. They were also good about showing me why three of our outer shutters would not go back on the home. Overall we were very pleased with the work and the quality of the service. (This company got good ratings on Angie's List and we felt they lived up to those ratings.) Again we were very pleased with the quality of the product and installation. And we felt the price was reasonable for what we received.

He was great and right on the spot. He did our next door neighbors yard and they are happy.

I am very satisfied with the installation of our hurricane shutters for our lanai. Everyone in the company was helpful and professional. The installers did a excellent job. A friend of ours who had shutters installed a few years ago for much more was really impressed with the quality and the final installation. I would recommend this company to anyone who was planning on having hurricane shutters installed on their unit.

They were very responsive and addressed all of our concerns; We contacted other shutter companies but none would use our existing shutters and some would not even provide a warranty for their work. This company offered a new 5 year warranty on the shutters even though at least half of them were "old". I can also assure everyone that they really do stand behind their work. Even though we were not the original owners of the initial shutter installation, they came out and repaired them at no charge to us when we had a problem. For this project, our condo manager told us we should be sure to see their license and obtain a certificate of insurance naming me and the condo association as insured just in case there was a problem. There were no problems! They performed the work as agreed, arriving on time and in a timely manner after being told they had the job. I can recommend them highly for price, value, courtesy and just about any factor you can name

Excellent quality and great work. Workers arrived on time and completed work as promised and very friendly. Price was consistent with local area estimates I received although price was higher than I assumed they would cost. Hurricane Safe price was several thousand lower than another recommended Angie List vendor for shuttters Would recommend them to anyone.
