Description of Work: Quoted 2 rescreens. Even though they were very busy, they came and gave us a quote. Two other companies asked us to wait until the following week for a quote but we needed to get the lanais rescreened because the wind had blown out the existing ones.

Description of Work: First, let me say that when we previously used Hansen (they were hired as a subcontractor by someone does work for us), they did a fine job rescreening our lanai. | |This time, however, things didn't work out so well. The main problem was that the Hansen crew showed up a day earlier than expected without calling to let us know they were coming. The head of the crew as much as said that he hadn't wanted to take the time to call. As a result, we hadn't secured our two cats in an out-of-the-way room, and one of them, in the confusion, went missing for two days. Fortunately, the missing cat was eventually found inside a sofabed that I'd closed to allow access to some of our windows. We went through two days of h*** assuming he'd gone out an open window, then spent $700 in emergency vet fees because he'd swallowed fibers from the underside of the sofabed and was vomiting hourly. | |Unfortunately, the work performed was also not as good as the previous lanai rescreening. Two windows were said to be out of square, resulting in large gaps on both sides of the screens; for some reason, however, the old screens fit fine. We were told nothing could be done to make the screens fit. | |A month later, a new second-floor screen fell to the ground. When I went to reinstall it, it became clear that none of the original fastening mechanisms remained. Basically, the screen had been reinstalled held in place by nothing but friction. So that screen, like the two with gaps, is now useless. | |On the plus side, both Hansen's estimator and installers were pleasant to deal with. We just wish the work had been up to the previous standard.

Description of Work: I contacted Hansen via email. We scheduled an estimate to rescreen our lanai roof. We ended up doing the whole lanai.. Once we decided to go ahead, we scheduled the work.I felt the price was reasonable and the work was excellent. I couldn't ask for a better wait time or project time. Several months later, we wanted an addition to our pool cage. I got a couple of estimates. I like Hansen. I like Carl. We went with them. They did a beautiful job. If I need something in the future I will work with them again. I would recommend them to anyone.

+ -1 moreI called one day. Then called again next day and there was no record of call or my repair needs. A gentleman(BRIAN) made every effort to correct the error and he called me back that afternoon and told me someone would be there in 48 hours or less. I had explained that the work needed to be done as opposed to an 'estimate'. Two men showed up next day- Saturday . The pool screen was repaired in 20 minutes. I am fairly certain that they did not understand what I said to them. I asked for an idea of cost which drew blank looks. And I asked that they tell the owner that I would like the 10% senior discount that is mentioned in the Angie's List ad. When I asked about the window screens, they said they had to take to shop. And off they went with the two screens. Well, I did not hear anything from anyone about the screens, so I finally went by there today (10 day after) and there they sat- repaired. I'm not sure why I wasn't called or why the 10% discount was not on paperwork. I did not check until after I returned home. So, the work was good, communication was not so good. Recommend that they be used but would ask for names and be very clear about your expectations! And their timeline. Seems I had made some incorrect assumptions about communication.

+ -1 moreI purchased a "handyman special" of a home. There are many projects that I am working on, and the pool enclosure was one of them. I originally toyed with the idea of replacing some of the screen panels myself, but when Hansen gave me an estimate on the entire pool enclosure, I immediately decided it was so reasonable that I would not even touch the screen, and let the professionals do it. They came while I was out of town on business (with my permission and blessing), and the work was done satisfactorily. They left the pool area and surrounding yard very clean, as if they had never been there. I really appreciated that! When I had a problem about a month later, they were very responsive, and took care of the problem within a few days.
Description of Work: Rescreen of pool enclosure on home I have just purchased. The existing pool enclosure was missing a full panel, and many of the panels were ripped and deteriorating. I called Hansen, they had done a very good job for a friend of mine a year ago. They rescreened my entire pool enclosure. A few weeks later, one of the panels came loose. I called Hansen, and they immediately apologized and scheduled a crew to come repair the panel, as well as to inspect the entire pool enclosure. They do stand behind their work. The frame of my pool enclosure was a challenge for them, but they did a very nice job.

Description of Work: Hansen Screen was one of three (3) companies we selected to provide an estimate on rescreening our lanai and pool area. They were very prompt with their response to the initial inquiry and came out right away to do the estimate. The estimate was eamiled back to me the same evening. The estimate was the highest of the two estimates we received, by a good bit. The initial estimate was for a premium screen and I requested a second estimate using a more common, but good grade of screen. Again, the estimate was considerably higher than the other company. Therefore, we did not select them for the job.

Their sales associate who came to my house to measure and discuss the job was very professional and was a pleasure to deal with.I had a firm price quote the same day. In about a week I decided that Hanson would get the job. I called and accepted their quote and asked them to put my job in their schedule. About a week later the repairmen came in the morning and remained until the job was done. The repairmen worked very well together and did a very nice job. All the screening was tight with no ripples in it. I would have those fellows work for me anytime. I would recommend Hanson to anyone who needs a re-screening done.
Description of Work: The old screening was removed and new screening was installed on my pool enclosure. A leak in the gutter splice was also repaired. When they completed the job all old materials were cleaned up and taken with them.

+ -1 moreWe actually went into their shop with the intention of doing it ourselves, but were impressed with the scope of their products and service. We changed our mind and we asked them for an estimate for them doing the replacement. We also attempted to obtain several other estimates. All the companies were gleaned from Angies "A" list. We obtained 2 other estimates, and one other company was just too busy to come out. Hansen's price was the best of all of them, so we chose them. The crew arrived as scheduled and proceeded to remove the damaged pan roof. We asked them to save all the pieces so we can take them to recycling. They stacked them neatly so we can load them into our truck. They put in 2 long days removing and replacing the entire structure, including bracing the remaining lanai while they put in a new supporting beam and gutter. They took off the 4th weekend and returned yesterday (Tuesday) to complete the job. They finished the roof, caulked everything and added downspouts. They cleaned their work area and left it cleaner than it was when they started. The crew was extremely polite as was the sales representative. I will certainly use them again for any rescreening and aluminum projects we are planning.
