Excellent job in cleaning up. Gave good advice for materials to pick up to replace drywall. Labor - 6 hours for $199.

We are very pleased with the portion of the work that they have done so far. The guy was very professional and they will have to come back as we lost power when they were at our home.

Arrived on time but looked at attic and stated that they were not interested in the job. Also stated that if I wanted an estimate for the plumbing work I needed to reschedule the appointment. Tried to reschedule but never received a call back. This rating is not that they did not want to install the stair, but that I never received an estimate for the work requested (plumbing). Update to response by service provider: As stated above, the rating is not based on them not wanting to install the attic stairs, but the fact that we wanted plumbing work done and the person that came to the house did not want to give that estimate. He stated that I would need to make another appointment, and after several tries we went with another provider.

I loved them; they were wonderful. They were here twice. The two gentlemen who were here and the owner of the company were all very, very polite, had a nice appearance and were very neat. They cleaned up after they were done, worked quickly and did not rip me off. I could not believe how much one guy accomplished in three hours. They did the work in 6 hours.

the job was done. it took 45 days from the date of purchase, and the owner was in contact during that time, to get work started/completed. I got what I paid for. Job was done satisfactory.

Initially, there were no troubles reaching out to the company. There was a little bit of miscommunication and misunderstanding of exactly what the deal was between the owner and the people he had sent out. I ended up having to go to my home on three different appointments and it resulted in me losing a lot of time. I did have to pay additional fees for materials. The cost of the service through the deal was great, but I would have not been happy had I paid full price for the service. The owner is a real nice guy and he had made the fact known that he was not expecting such a big response to the deal. They did get the job done and everything worked out well in the end.

I wanted very much to like Handy Vets! I always support our veterans and I had rotted wood on the corner of my house, so it looked like a perfect match when I received the Angie?s List rotted wood special. In addition, as a small business owner in Southwest Florida we are always looking for quality handy men and our customers are begging for names and numbers for great handy men. So I bought the special almost immediately, which included 4 hours of wood rot repair. We fairly quickly exchanged messages through Angie?s List and voicemails, and Craig even came to see the property and explained to me how the wood would be replaced, and how they see many of these jobs and it was not a major deal. Craig said he would promptly schedule the job, and one of his veterans would complete the work. After exchanging more messages and voicemails with Craig for over a month, Craig left me a voicemail stating the job was done. I did not get home until late that night and could not see the repair, but when my wife sent me pictures of the ?completed? job I almost could not believe my eyes! Instead of replacing the rotted wood, the rotted wood was covered, extremely sloppily, with some sort of wood putty. It looks even worse in person. To say it looks awful (besides the fact that it did not correct the problem but only made it worse) would be a gross understatement. Nothing matched up, it looks terrible, and now nobody else will touch it to repair Handy Vet?s ?repair?. I cannot even fathom how anyone could make such a ?repair? and say the work was even close to complete. I honestly cannot imagine this catastrophe could have taken more than a half hour to create. When I contacted Craig about what his worker did he said ?I told him to do the best he could with what he had? and his worker ?said it came out okay?. Interestingly enough Craig later told me it was a ?temporary thing? even though he previously told me the job was complete. These inconsistencies lead me to believe that they were attempting to take advantage of this customer. Craig then said he was not happy either and wanted to make it right, but by the time I got back to town, we had already received the refund check from Handy Vets. While it was very nice, and completely appropriate, for Handy Vets to refund 100% of my payment, I am now unfortunately stuck with rotted wood that has been covered up. I cannot find any companies that will touch this ?repair? because they do not know what is under it, and do not want to be blamed for any damage caused by this Handy Vets ?repair?. As frustrating as it was to actually get this repair scheduled, I wish they would not have touched it at all! Response 03/05/2014: Rather than being told the work was complete, it sure would have been nice to have been told the repair "could easily be performed by removing the gutter (even though we do not have gutters on this property) and facia boards". As far as you saying you were trying to convey that to me via "several emails" is simply not true. We made contact via text almost immediately, and you made up several excuses, but this was not one of them. I can share the texts with you to refresh your memory if you wish. Even though it would have taken several more man hours to "easily" repair properly, it would probably have been considerably less expensive than the amount I now need to pay because of the faulty repair that was made by Handy Vets. All our messaging through Angie's List is obviously still there, and I have all our texts where we communicated just fine which I am happy to share, but I do not appreciate: 1. kindergarten-like "repair" 2. Being lied to, or 3. You attempting to falsely say that you were unsuccessful in communicating with me. The bottom line is that Handy Vets should be ashamed of what they did, and anyone looking to hire them should be aware of the facts of my situation. I am not in any way bashing Handy Vets, I am simply passing on the facts so potential buyers know what happened to me, and how much money it is going to cost me to correct Handy Vets' failed "repair" and perhaps make their hiring decision accordingly.

They showed up on time, purchased materials, removed the rotted fascia board and nails, installed a new fascia board, painted with two coats and finished in about 7 hours.

They did a nice job. Matched the profile of the existing fascia. The company was easy to work with.

Handy Vets came out, took a look at the job and sent out an installer arrived the same day. The installer was professional. courteous, and polite. He made adjustments to the dishwasher so it would fit perfectly, cleaned up and left the house without a trace of his presence. I am very satisfied with this company and its workmen.

TV not hug high enough or where I wanted them to put it He did not listen very well to how high I wanted it to go. They were courteous, and prompt ~ but rushing ro get to another job ~ I was just disappointed that they did not both seem to listen and I therefore can not say that I am totally satisfied. I would give them a second chance and think about hiring them again though ~ we need to support our returning veterans!

Working with Craig and his crew was great. They are personable, punctual and very nice to deal with. I've grappled with writing this review for some time but being that I am still paying another handyman (as of today) to fix the things that were performed I thought I should put that out here. Craig returned on several occasions to redo or fix some of the issues that came up but I just stopped calling him as they occurred and contacted (and paid) someone else.

Prompt, courteous, and very professional.

It turned out great. I would probably use them again next year. I have no complains. It’s a great idea and they came quickly. They were responsive and they were nice guys and intelligent. I thought the price was reasonable.

On time, friendly people, great value

Craig the owner is very friendly and his staff are knowledgeable and professionalization. While the project did end up taking more time than expected he made sure the stucco was fixed properly rather then just patched. I will probably use them again for other projects around the house.

Craig did the estimate right away and was good enough to point out a couple things on my list that didn't actually need to be fixed. I really appreciated that honesty. Craig's team, John and Dave, we're great. It was obvious that they took pride in their work and the results showed that. I'd use Craig and his team again without hesitation. It was a great experience and an honor to support our vets.

We had less than 24 hours before departing. Craig sent out one of his technicians within 2 hours of our first call. The work was complicated, but Handy Vets was able to fix my problems. I intend to use Handy Vets in the near future and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality handyman services.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. Veterans did the work for me. They did not make me wait for the service. I paid an additional $99 because I had them do a little bit of extra cutting. They were good and the people were nice. I love that they are vets and everything was good. They were just super.

My experience with Handy Vets was great. They've already been out a few more times to help with other projects.

Removed double SS kitchen sink cleaned old mastic off all surfaces reglued and reinstalled sink also provided additional bracing to insure no recurrence.

Very nice - actually completed the work I needed done much quicker than the 6 hours. Cleaned up after they were finished. Very friendly and polite. I will definitely utilize this company again.

These gentlemen were great. They arrived on time and were very professional! Their can do attitude was delightful, as I was told by the cable company that it wasn't going to be easy to move the cable where I needed it. Handy Vets worked out the issues and completed it in a timely manor. Craig is especially adept at problem solving.

His quote was twice the cost of 3 other companies, so for this project the cost was the deal-breaker! Was impressed with the company though and may call them in the future for another project.

It took longer than expected. Owner had to finish the job.
