After receiving a call from my neighbor regarding the generally poor appearance of our property, we hired an independent consultant to assess the property condition, and hence, the value of Estate's services. The report that we received from the consultant was upsetting. The drain that was put in is non-functioning and was attached to the downspouts with duct tape. Holes that were dug (presumably for the drains) were not filled in or covered. Palm trees that were allegedly maintained are now dead. Shrubs were not trimmed and are now shoddy in appearance. Planting beds that are supposed to be mulched had no mulch. Fertilization was either not done or was improperly done. (Soil samples revealed a total absence of potassium and magnesium... apparently a necessity for promoting growth.) The zoysia sod that Estate had planted is now choked by weeds from poor maintenance and is being mowed by the wrong type of mower. While we can't say that we witnessed it first hand, the neighbors also told us that the regularly scheduled maintenance was not occurring on a regular basis. They told us that palm fronds remained untouched on the lawn for 2 weeks at a time. On a positive note, the hedges that they planted 6 or 7 months ago, are still alive. In short, the property is now a disaster. While perhaps others have had luck with Estate, we did not. Frankly, I can't believe that they treat all of their customers as poorly or they'd be out of business. We may be an exception to the norm. From what I understand, Estate targets neighborhoods and large communities for clients. Perhaps we were too small for them to pay any attention to. I called the company yesterday to terminate service and was asked to put the request in writing. I immediately sent a written request by email. Detail was provided regarding all of the problems mentioned above. I have received a "Message Read" receipt, but no further response or communication from them.
Description of Work: We contracted with Estate Landscaping in either Nov or Dec 2012, to perform regular lawn and property maintenance. Because we are part-time residents, we worked on the assumption that regular services were being performed. At the start of our relationship, we spent $6800 to have 2 hedges planted along fence lines; In Jan or Feb, we spent almost $2000 on having zoysia sod and a few shrubs installed in the front yard. In July, we spent $600 for the installation of drains.
