I wanted a “smart” home, and I decided Control4 was the way to go. As a result, I contacted three local firms specializing in Control4 automated home security and lighting. D&T Design Inc. of Cape Coral never bothered to respond in spite of two requests. Greenwire LLC of Fort Myers responded and made a site visit to ascertain my needs but couldn’t provide a bid in a timely manner. Diamond Security & Sound of Fort Myers responded promptly, made a site visit to ascertain my needs, and provided a prompt estimate of the scope of work and pricing. After visiting the Diamond office for a demonstration of the Control4 capabilities, I accepted Diamond’s proposal to replace my existing ADT Wi-Fi-based indoor cameras and alarm system with a Control4 “smart home” package. The new system consists of three outdoor and two indoor wired security cameras with a backup battery and digital recording device capturing video from all cameras in a continuous two-week loop. I also had Diamond install a “privacy switch” that allows me to turn off the indoor cameras as desired. I retained an existing Ring Video doorbell so I could talk to visitors as well as see them. Diamond’s setup also provides a whole-house alarm system and for-fee monitoring service, Wi-Fi and manually operated indoor and outdoor lighting, automated front-door lock, garage-door control, and temperature and humidity controls. Diamond also replaced my Amazon Fire Stick TV control with an Apple-TV device. Diamond used an outside electrical contractor to make all my light and fan switches compatible with the Contro4 system. I’m now able to monitor and control all cameras and automated systems via my SmartTV, mobile phone, and Windows 10 laptops. All the technicians and electricians were helpful, friendly, efficient, and competent. They arrived as scheduled and on time. The company’s vice president, Bob, and president, Ron, were good about managing the installation and providing prompt communications throughout the process. The team also assisted with obtaining the required police authorization for the new alarm system. Diamond staff technicians Mike and Ernesto were especially good about explaining everything as they went along and making several requested minor modifications during the installation process. Mike completed the installation of the cameras and related equipment. Ernesto handled automation of the doors, thermostat, and lights. With Control4, you can set up a variety of customized actions – adjusting temperature, opening or closing doors, controlling lighting, etc. – with pre-determined programming that Control4 calls “scenes.” I provided Diamond with a detailed request for half a dozen such scenarios, and Ernesto programmed the system to accomplish each of them at the touch of a button. All my wall switches now have engraved labels indicating what each switch controls. To assist viewing at night, each engraved label is illuminated after dark. The entire process took place over a period of about five weeks with a total of four visits by Diamond personnel and the team of three electricians. I now have an automated home and upgraded security. So far, everything is working as desired and as promised. I couldn’t be happier.

They have been fantastic. I haven't had any problems. The installer knew what he was doing. He went over everything with a fine toothed comb to make sure it was working. I am happy with them.

Very clean installation. They took time to explain how to use my Zone 2 on my audio visual receiver even though I had not bought this equipment from them.

I emailed my inquiry on a Saturday, and got a professional response the same day. I talked with Mr. Joiner on the phone a couple times to clarify the installation and our needs. He was helpful in explaining things, offering less costly options, and being willing to assure me they would be able to work around whatever needs arose with remote interference issues we might have because of our furniture arrangement. He was willing to schedule the installation on the specific day we needed since this was our second home and we were only in town briefly. He gave me tips for making sure Comcast provided the right cable receiver we needed. Please read the whole review, because I would use Diamond Security and Sound again. The two men who came to install the equipment were very nice, and took care to not harm the TV or sound bar, when unpacking. and installing them They first installed the mount in the wrong place, leaving holes in the wall. Mistakes happen but they should have with them what they need to repair them. Then the screws which came with the mount were too short for the sound bar---they ended up borrowing some from the electrician we had on-site. Additional, they did not connect the sound bar, TV, and Blu-ray player in the ways I asked based on my research. And they could not figure out how to make the ARC HDMI work for the sound bar. I think their actual audio/video knowledge of our products was limited. It did complicate things that the cable box Comcast sent was defective. However, I sent an email to Mr. Joiner, he was quick with a response that he would talk with the installation guys and he was sending his Design Engineer, Joshua McLaughlin, while we were still in Florida and at a convenient time. Joshua McLaughlin was on time, did a great job, really knew what he was doing, and had already reviewed my concerns before he got there. While there were some bumps in the road with the initial installers, Diamond Security and Sound (Mr. Joiner and Joshua McLaughlin) did make things right and they went out of their way to accommodate our schedules. They were respectful, honest, willing to discuss options, and willing to let us choose what we wanted. They brought the products to us and accommodated our schedule, which was great for us. The owners may need to take the time to give frontline installers some further training or preparation when installing products with which they may not be familiar.

After chasing one provider for a quote for about 10 weeks, we chose Diamond off Angie's list because of the good recommendations they received. I sent an email requesting a contact and got a return immediately. A sales rep (Vaughn) came to the house the day after the contact. He was very professional and polite and carefully walked through our needs and explained advantages and disadvantages of each option. A proposal was emailed as promised on the next business day. Installation was scheduled at our convenience. Vaughn came out with the crew at the appointed time and he, the crew supervisor (Ernesto) and I walked through the job and what was to be done at each point. Ernesto and the other techs were a pleasure to have in our home - they were polite, very respectful of the property and took pains to reduce the inconvenience and intrusion as they strung wires through the house. Ernesto then carefully explained all the operating procedures and helped install the software and apps on computers and phones. (He also fixed our internet router as a bonus). He left his card with instructions to call any time. I had some follow up questions - in off hours - which he promptly answered . Overall, we are very happy with the system and the sales and installation experience.

Very professional.......checked all entry points and detectors....installed new main controller with remote capability.....also have responded quickly when alarm has been accidently set off......an EXCELLENT service provider!!!!

They were very professional. The installs required 3 visits. They were on time for each scheduled visit. Courteous and diligent in the install. Patient with questions and responsive with email questions after installation.

We were pressed for time when we contacted Diamond Security. Rob adjusted his schedule and came early. He was helpful explaining and describing the options for products to do what we were asking for. Rob was quick and courteous with his response and price quote. Ernesto was the chief installer. The install was quick, clean and on time. Follow up calls have always been responded to in a timely courteous manner. We give Diamond Security an "A" Rating.

When I bought my house in 2011, this company was the one who installed the system, and who monitored it. The system was not set up. So, they came to my house and installed a new box, and tested everything. Then, I signed up for monitoring. The unit works well. It's only had one "freak" alarm since 5/2011 (lightning hit nearby). I will continue to use them as long as their prices continue to be reasonable!

I called this company and I thought the quotes were grossly overpriced. And when I mentioned that to Bob he became very combatant, saying that he was a professional. His attitude was condescending. Other quotes I received for this were dramatically less than Bob's, and these companies were also professional, licensed, and insured.

The entire process went seamlessly. The installers were professional, knowledgable, and friendly. They installed 2 hard wired keypads, 2 smoke detectors, 2 motion sensors, 2 key fobs, and 8 door sensors. The equipment was very nice and user friendly. They were definitely worth every penny! Excellent company!

The reason we went with them is because other neighbors in our area had them and we're pleased with them and also, they're hired by other companies for outside monitoring and has at least three locations in the country, so if one goes down, they have backups. I would recommend them.

I liked the product that they used. The owner came out, talked to me personally, and did the estimate. We agreed upon the other price, so he was very professional and very responsive. The installer that he sent out again was very punctual, prompt, and did the work in a good way. Everything was done perfectly. I have no complaint.
