CORAX SERVICES INC

I hired Corax services inc and signed a contract on 9/17/07 for the amount of $48,209.90 to do the job. I gave them a 30% down payment of the amount of $14,462.97. They assured me my job would be finished by Dec 2007. Because of there mistakes I didn't get my permit until 1/8/08. On 1/4/08 the owner of Corax Services James E Corace, Russ Y, Karen M work for Corax. Geza C who is the designer/architect came to my house to now inform me that I would now need trusses and that they would be ordered .The trusses were never ordered and now they want me to pay for new plans. I already paid $2,950 to Geza C for the first set of plans which are now useless. They are the professionals. How is it that after 5 months they now tell me I need trusses and my cost would go up. So on 1/9/08 a subcontractor came to my house to remove my closet, put a hole into my attic, and put in temporary 2x4 stairs up to the attic where my master suite was going to be. They came and worked at my house for 1 day and that's it. So they kept making excuse after excuse why they weren't back at my house working. Finally after months of being blown off by Corax Services Inc, I had no choice but to fire them. I sent a letter of termination on 3/24/08 and a request for the return of my money. James E. Corace the owner refuses to return my money. I am out $14,462.97 for what? This shouldn't be tolerated. I am now out of a closet, in my air conditioning in my attic, they left dangerous electrical cords hanging and I have 2 children which is very dangerous. Trim with nails exposed is also dangerous. I'm sure we all wish we could work just one day out of a calendar year and make almost $15,000.00 this is wishful thinking but not reality. I also found out that his company is not licensed but he has an individual license but I signed the contract with Corax Services so I was misled about that. Another thing is that they had my notice of commencement and they had one of there employees who is a notary fraudulently stamped it without me being present or my permission to do so. I work very hard for my money and I was taken advantage by Corax Services and James E Corace the owner. This has been a horrible experience for me and my family. I want to warn everyone about this company because what he has done is disgusting,dishonest,and he's a thief. I own my own business and I would never treat another human being the way we've been treated by Corax Services.
