We went to their Cleveland Ave showroom to look at a new unit and they wanted $10,000.00 to replace our refrigerator. When we returned home we read on the internet that the first thing you should do if you have a condensation problem is to check the coils for dust. My wife removed the grill at the top of the unit to see if there was anything she could see. While we know nothing about refrigerators she noticed a large build-up of dust on the coils and was able to remove this with a vacuum. This took care of the condensation problem we were having with the refrigerator. I called the manager at Bill Smith, Mr. Fuller, and complained about the charge for a shoddy diagnosis and explained that we felt the technician who came should have checked the coils and informed us that could be the problem. He said he would check with the Service Manger and call me back. He did not return the call. I called a second time and was told he was out of the office and I left a message for him to return my call. He did not return the call. I called a third time, spoke with him, and he said he would have the Service Manager call me. When she did not call me I called her and was told that she was on a conference call and could not take my call but that she would refer me to another Service Manager who would return my call. Again, there was no call returned. I am giving this review on Angie's List, not so much for the $100 service charge which I believe was unfair since the technician should have checked the coils, but for the very poor customer service and the fact that they do not honor their promises to return calls and seem to be unable to discuss the issues with me in a reasonable manner. Not long after this happened we had a dishwasher fail and needed to buy a new one. I called the Bill Smith salesman who we had worked with previously and asked about a purchasing new Miele dishwasher to replace our old one. He told me that Bill Smith no longer handled Miele but he had a floor model and possibly other units in storage which they would be glad to sell. He promised to check availability and call me back. Again, there was no return call. I ended up buying a new Miele dishwasher from a Port Charlotte dealer and they had the unit installed immediately. I have used Bill Smith for years and have never had these kinds of problems in the past so I have been surprised and disappointed with their current customer service.
Description of Work: Our Subzero refrigerator had a condensation problem with moisture on the walls. We called Bill Smith Inc and scheduled a service call. They told us there would be $100 charge to come out and give us a diagnosis as to what was wrong with the refrigerator. We agreed to the charge and they sent their technician. He came and looked at the unit, checked the temperature, which he said was good. He showed me a small ice crystal formation inside the freezer compartment and said the insulation was bad and there was no way they could repair the refrigerator. He suggested that if we wanted to get ride of the condensation problem the only solution was to purchase a new refrigerator. He was there for about 10 minutes and did not check anything else.

I bought my washer from Bill Smith because they were recommended. I also bought the extended warranty. After 4 years the washer broke and it took them 3 days to some to fix it. Technician showed up checked the problem and then said they had to order the part and it would take another 4 days. Then they would schedule another visit to fix it. In the meantime, they sold the maintenance contract and that was outsourced. Totally frustrated, I called Sears. the technician cam the next day with the correct parts and fixed the machine. I would not use Bill Smith for anything. Their service is NOT good.
Description of Work: I called to have the washer fixed since I bought the washer there. Told it would take 5 days for service call. Went on to another service provider.
