Installed plumbing including disposal following installation of new countertops. ProTec came late in the day to do the work as I had requested. Their installation included two drains rather than the usual one which should eliminate possible backups. |Good job. Completely satisfied.

(1) "In the end", the repiping job was completed satisfactorily and appears to be of good quality. The process to get it completed, however, required multiple call-backs, a complete miss regarding the tear-out and replacement of internal house wallboard, and it took three technicians to finally determine they had installed the irrigation back flow valve upside down thereby causing the irrigation system to be completely inoperable. In fairness, Aztec refunded me $250 associated with the failure of their team to return and complete the wallboard job. However, they left me wight he problem to solve in order for me to stay on schedule.I do think that the overall cost of the repiping task was reasonable and of good value; service quality disappointing. (2) Regardng the plumbing of the two baths, the technician was provided with detailed cabinet drawings as well as the ability to examine the to-be-installed cabinet box and still missed getting the pipes int he right place--this despite several reminders as well as an "end of job" confirmation that all was done correctly. Still another tech showed up the next day to repair the irrigation system ( which took still another tech after him) and to finsih--at significant additional cost--the original pipe placement for the 2nd sink. (3) Again, in fairness, Aztec was responsive to the multiple calls and provided a modest "rebate"( their $200 Angie's coupon which they should have provided for even an excellently performed job + $70 for my several days of follow-up activity with them.) The overall cost of the remodel plumbing portion of the job was more expensive on a unit price basis than I think I could have gotten and I shopped the task in parts. Here is my overall advice: This is probably a good company, particularly for single plumbing issues. For a complex remodel, they lack any on-site coordination with the result that some of their workers were very busy, some sitting around. They assigned two separate crews from two separate divisions and at no time, despite asking, could I tell who was really in charge. Call backs were frequent and were often handled by a new person--presumably whoever was close by rather than someone who "owned" the responsibility for delivering quality service and customer satisfaction. The job required a single person to be in charge and someone to walk through the site at completion and own delivering a satisfactory customer experience --not just solely getting the pipes done correctly
Description of Work: Contracted for a whole house re-pipe plus plumbing associated with remodel of two bathrooms. Bathroom work was replacement of existing installation as well as addition of a 2nd sink in one of the bathrooms.

Response from Aztec Plumbing & Drains
Thank you for your review. Any time we receive feedback from our customers on how we can better improve our services we take the necessary actions regarding those suggestions as soon as possible. Ultimately I am happy to hear that the work appears to be of good quality. I assure you that it is, in fact we guarantee it for a full year both on labor and material. That is also why we insist on permitting this type of project, because it is for your protection and peace of mind that the work was done properly and to State of Florida Plumbing code. We certainly made a mistake with the check valve on your irrigation system and yes we made it more than once. Fortunately it was an easy repair, unfortunately because you had time constraints with your irrigation company I was forced to send out different technicians to handle the issue within the time schedule I had. I do believe that it is better for not only the customer but for the company to have the technician familiar with the project make the repair however it was not possible in this case. I do apologize for the issues with the check valve. After a lengthy training session those involved have learned from their mistakes. It is true that two different divisions completed your project. It is a difficult task to repipe a home the size of yours in one day and it would have been impossible and frankly ill advised to expect my repipe company to complete all the work. You are correct that there was no definitive leader for the work done at your home, each crew that was responsible for their portion of the work and completed it independently of the other. I can assure you that we had a meeting that morning so that everyone knew what was happening around them. Moving forward I will make sure that someone identifies themselves as the main point of contact when more than one crew is on a job. We do have technicians check the work the following day prior to inspection and of course the inspector checks our work as well. I honestly do not have an answer for you regarding your drywall repair. Since you pulled the permit on this project and were responsible for calling in the inspections we did not schedule drywall for a specific day as we always do. If you called our office to schedule the drywall repair after you called in and passed the inspection and we failed to contact the drywall contractor then I apologize for the miscommunication and any inconveniences it may have caused you. It certainly was not intentional. Please feel free to contact me again with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your review and for your suggestions. Jim the plumber was a little early and we were aware of that because he called to tell us he was on the way. He did an excellent job. We enjoyed his company. He was congenial and professional at the same time. He had to wait for my husband to go to buy a new faucet because my husband did not like the one Jim had brought. While my husband was gone, Jim worked on the valves and cleaned up all water residue. The new faucet installation only took about 10 minutes. The price was a little high but we were very appreciative that he came on such short notice so it was well worth the cost.

We've used this plumber several times since we bought our house in 2011 (at least 3 previous times). They are great. The plumbers are extremely professional, clean-cut, and punctual. Whenever we call with a question, we get a call-back within 24 hours usually. The last thing we had done was have a garbage disposal replaced. The one we had was never working right, and it finally seized in 2013. they had several types of garbage disposals, and we picked a higher-end one. The thing is super-silent and works wonderfully. They really do stand behind their quality and workmanship! Their prices seem a bit high for easy stuff (like replacing the toilet line, replacing shower head, etc.) But, for the big stuff, it's worth every single penny. We will continue to use this company for all our plumbing needs.

Horrible, plumber came and told me it was my faucet and that it could not be fixed, it had to be replaced for either $289 or 4500. this was a new faucet not even a year old. I sent him away and was going to have a friend install a new one from Home Depot. When he looked at it the hose only needed to be tighten. It has not leaked for a month. What a rip off this company is, preying on poor people. I am writing you this as I hope you never accept Aztec Plumbing to be part of Angie's List. All American Air out of Fort Myers, FL di d a similar thing, saying my air conditioner had to be replaced, but I had to pay him now for the the deal he was going to give me, I told him to leave and my a/c worked for several more years - he had come only to do my yearly maintenance. Please continue to find honest tradesmen for us, you're doing a great job.

They were on time, under budget and they fixed the issues! Another company we had look at the problem told us the minimum cost was going to be $6000.00! Aztec is very professional, prompt and reasonable with prices.
Description of Work: Aztec fixed a couple of issues for us at both our houses in Florida. They used a camera to flush out a pipe at one house and charged us less than we had to pay as a deposit to another company. I have been very pleased with their service. They explain what they are going to do upfront and do it!

We have had them many times and they were excellent. It is a superb service and the response is very fast and each time, the person has really, really been highly professional. I think it was Mark that hooked up the outside shower, he has done several things before and he did a beautiful job. It was quite a lot of work, it was $500 for the unit that I bought separately and they checked it out to see if it was appropriate for the location. I feel that they are competitive in their pricing; I don’t think that they try to give you a low-ball price and then charge more. They are very fair and they offer coupons. In fact, last time, he also reminded me that I had a coupon. I had so much work done with them they had sent me a letter, so they are very courteous. I was able to use a $30 for the garbage disposal job and it was an upgraded model from what we had. They are excellent, they know a lot about the local area, the water conditions and the whole situation with plumbing and pipes in Florida. They really are very knowledgeable about what works and what does not. The price is not exceptionally low but I wasn’t expecting a low price either. They are very, very good with their responsiveness, you get a call back usually within an hour and if it is an emergency, they will come out right away. We had a big problem with a terrible water heater that we had installed by another company and we had a lot of water damage as a result of it exploding and I ended up having to have that terrible thing taken out, it was like one of those tank-less water heaters and it was just the wrong thing. I called up Aztec, and they responded, it was around thanksgiving time and it was the holiday weekend and they came out right away to put in a conventional water heater. If they are going to be late, they are honest, they call and that is very good.
Description of Work: We used Aztec Plumbing to install an outside shower. They replaced out water heater in the past. We also had them out for putting in a new faucet and rebuilding something else. The last thing was to replace my garbage disposal unit.

I used them, it was a holiday weekend or something. They came out very promptly and tried to help, we had a problem with the sewer. They tried to locate it and they had to cut a hole in the concrete. They tried really hard they did not find it properly. But that is not really a criticism, it was very difficult and they did a really good job. But I did not use them for anything beyond that, I figured out how to do it and finished the job myself.

We thought taking out and replacing the vanity base was a fairly simple job, but the hardware on the pipes was rusted and after about 2 hours of frustration we called Aztec Plumbing to see if they had a plumber avail. on short notice. We had previosly used them for an emergency toilet guts issue and ended up replacing the entire unit. We were very satisfied with the job and the response so the first place we checked with was Aztec. Fortunately JJ was able to come over after a short wait. I cannot say enough about JJ, he was professional, courteous and did the job in a very short time. He went over and above our expectations by fitting in a vanity base that was slightly oversized on the legs by an inch. He worked it out and did a fantastic job on the entire project. Since I had him there I asked if he could simply check the leaky cold water handle in the kitchen sink, he noticed that there was a pool of water under the sink and that the spray attachment was defective and wasn?t shutting off. We hadnt noticed it before and would have had a new issue to deal with in the future if he didnt find it. He suggested that we replace it and gave me instructions on tightening the bolts under the faucet set. I asked him if it was something he could repair/replace and he showed me a few options within my price range. We found a great replacement faucet and he completed that job for us, we were very impressed with his great attitude toward every concern we had and he addressed all our needs. Our condo uses Aztec for their plumbing needs and we were recommended by someone in the building. If we ever have any other issues or concerns our first call will ALWAYS be to Aztec and specifically JJ.

We are in the process of remodeling our master bathroom, and need to have the toilet moved as part of the design. We called Aztec Plumbing, and J.J. was at my door within an hour. He was very nice, and appeared to be very knowledgeable. After discussing the plans, he confirmed that the job could be done, and he promised ? on his sacred honor - to get back to me the next day. The call never came? Okay, things happen - no big deal. I waited a few days and called the office. J.J. called back some time later, apologized for the error, and promised to call back by the end of the day. Rather than wait by the phone, I decided to kill some time at the local mall to get in some light shop lifting, and perhaps grab a pretzel at Auntie Ann?s. Finally, at about 4:45pm ? a full 15 minutes shy of the ?end of the day? with no call from J.J.? I called Aztec to inquire about him and his false promises. I was told that J.J. would be informed and no doubt call me back. It's been over two weeks and we have heard nothing. It's funny... instead of getting angry over the prospect of having to essentially beg Aztec to take my money; I felt a sense of foreboding. What if J.J. was in some sort of danger, and - more importantly - what if he had some premonition of his fate? My mind reeled as I remembered an article I had seen recently in The Wall Street Journal wherein an organized group from the heretofore unheard of country of Isatikstan has been linked to missing plumbers from all over the US. According to the article, these hapless sewerologists are forced into government labor in order to assist in bringing the county's infrastructure up to code. It?s anyone?s guess as to what happens when they've outlived their usefulness. I?m hoping it?s a quiet retirement with a nice pension, but who knows? Now what? What could I possibly do? While I was anything but happy about Aztec?s business practices and lack of customer service, I certainly did not want any harm to come to J.J. Initially, I felt that my best course of action would be to notify Aztec, in the event this was all just a silly mistake. My previous phone calls got me nowhere, so that was out, and two emails through the company website yielded negative results. I scanned a photo of J.J. and placed flyers all over town - a basic ?Have You Seen Me?? with a bunch of those little cut-outs at the bottom with my phone number. I have yet to receive any responses. Finally, I called a local dairy to see if they would place a photo of J.J. on their cartons, but they hung up on me! I have no choice but to contact the Feds and ask for help. I am not sure what good that will do. They did nothing when my landscaper disappeared, and I can only assume I will have the same experience this time. Sadly, it?s their lack of compassion that led me to decide not to report the disappearance of my carpenter. Farewell Jesus, you will be missed. As a last ditch effort, I have decided to post my tale of woe on Angie?s list. Perhaps someone over here has seen something? anything. Godspeed J.J. TL;DR We called Aztec Plumbing to get an estimate for a bathroom remodel. We chose Aztec because of the superlative work they had done in our home and business in the past. A technician showed up promptly and promised to get back with us with an estimate. The technician then vanished into thin air, never to be heard from again. Calls and emails to the company ostensibly fell on deaf ears. What happened Aztec?

Thank you for your review and the lighthearted manner in which it was written. We certainly apologize for any miscommunication and hope we did not cause you any undue stress worrying about JJ’s safety. Rest assured he is safe and sound and busy taking care of the many customers that request him! It seems that a completed proposal for your remodel was emailed to the address you provided, along with a brief message from our estimator, on May 15, 2013. Although I’m not sure what happened I am sorry for not following up with you afterward to confirm that you received it. I would be more than happy to forward it again if you need. I hope you will give us another opportunity to show you why we have been voted “The Best of Southwest Florida” for the last 11 years. When we called Aztec Plumbing, we expected an efficient A. O. Smith water heater as shown in their ad. The water heater brought by the tech was neither efficient nor an A. O. Smith. Further we did not even learn that he intended to install a different one until we saw him preparing it for installation. We called Aztec to request an estimate for an 80 gal hot water heater. The ad we had received showed A.O. Smith water heater with the following description below it: AO Smith, NEW, Efficient, Water heaters. When Jim arrived, he quoted the price and said he could install an A.O. Smith hot water heater that day. We agreed. He shut off and started to drain our existing water heater and went to a local supplier to acquire it. When he returned I went out to his truck and, much to my surprise and dismay, I discovered that it was a State Select hot water heater, not the A.O. Smith we were promised. He said he thought it was made by A. O. Smith and was comparable. He said that if we had to have an A.O. Smith, he would have to drive from Naples to Ft. Myers to get one. Since we had an appointment soon and our hot water was disabled, we very reluctantly agreed to allow the installation. After the tech had left, I discovered the "energyguide"on the side of the heater listed this hot water heater as the LEAST EFFICIENT one in its category with a a projected cost of greater than $50 per year more than the most efficient one ($544 vs $492 per year). A person from Aztec called the next day to ask if I was pleased with the installation. I said no and explained why. She said she would pass my comments along to the service manager and that he might call. I never heard from them.

[member name removed], I had hoped to discuss your concerns over the phone however both my calls have not been returned. Hopefully, my attempts to address your issues through this response are adequate. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any additional questions or concerns that you may have. More often than not Aztec Plumbing installs AO Smith water heaters. It is true that we advertise AO Smith. For various reasons there are times when we install heaters by a different name. Some companies have discontinued models, some are not available locally and some have dimensions that will no longer work for a replacement. Generally, if we are not installing an AO Smith water heater we are installing a State water heater. They are in fact made by the same company. The water heaters are of the same quality, have the same warranty, the same first hour rating, the same energy factor and the same cost to operate. An 80 gallon AO Smith ProMax water heater has the same approximate Energy Guide cost to operate, $544 per year, as the State Select we installed. As a matter of fact a water heater manufactured by Rheem has the identical energy factor. There are hi efficiency water heaters and hybrid water heaters available that cost less to operate but come with a significantly higher cost. Those are the other heaters the Energy Guide is referring too. Unfortunately AO Smith water heaters are not available in your area through our local plumbing supply houses, fortunately State water heaters are. I agree that you would have been better served had we mentioned that we would be installing a State water heater rather than an AO Smith beforehand. Ultimately we would have avoided a great deal of miscommunication and let you have the opportunity to make your decision before we brought the State water heater to your home. I’m sure that Jim’s knowledge of the fact that AO Smith and State are the same quality products made it less of an issue for him than it did for you and for that I apologize. Our goal is always to clearly communicate our intentions and that did not happen in this case. I will make sure your comments and suggestions are addressed with all our technicians in order to avoid any issues in the future. We warranty our work, stand behind are products and work very hard to maintain the outstanding reputation we have. Should you have any issues with your new State water heater regarding its operation we will of course honor the warranty as we would with an AO Smith water heater. In the mean time I am confident that you will enjoy many years of trouble free hot water from your new State water heater. Again, please feel free to contact me directly should you need. Thank you very much for your business. Chris Tedesco Service Manager Aztec Plumbing

Rich came with 2 other men to re-pipe our home. It was a very difficult job as we have no attic to get to the upstairs bathroom. Rich explained everything that he was doing and had to work "outside the box" in order to complete the project. They stayed late until we had water again - this was an all day job. The county inspector who came to inspect the next day said that it was a "really good job" and he was amazed at how well the re-pipe had been done. We couldn't be more pleased and would recommend their services to anyone.

Aztec Plumbing came back one more time since last year. Give them straight As. They were great. It was prior to the beginning of the year. They are a great company, they come, they show up I like their workman they are responsible english speaking workman. No problem. I prefer my workman to be be able to talk to me. They are 100% all the way. In fact I bought some kind of a policy with them it's like $79 a year and you can call them 24 hours a day if you need them. I thought it was worth it.

See above. The service was excellent and the problem resolved quickly and efficiently.
Description of Work: I had water from my shower leaking out from under my toilet. Aztec plumbing came in removed the clog, replaced the wax ring. While opening up the drain, the technician used a scope to see that my cast iron pipes were almost totally clogged. This reminded me of a blocked coronary artery. The technician then spoke with me about his findings and my options. Because the system was already opened up, I opted to have him blast the deposits from the side of the cast iron,. This opened the pipe to promote better drainage and not allow for substances to become hung up inside the pipes. I have used Aztec plumbing before. They have always been very thorough and very fair.

Repipe was done in one day, pressure test confirmed that everything was done right the first time. :) All connections I saw were very clean and professional looking. City inspection was done the following day. Passed !!! Drywaller came in and repaired the minimal wall holes made during the installation process. Well they arrived on time and the plumber was very courteous and clean. They did the work which was install a kit and bathroom faucet , which I had paid for. They installed the faucets and sink strainer baskets and shut offs.. It took about 3 hours total . The work was good but the prices were sky high. $800.00 Even with a senior citizen discount. Go Figure. If you are going to use them Get the price of the job up front. I emailed them about the high prices and the CEO sent a email back and said he would look into it. He never responded to my Email. Roger L

We noticed a wet place in the closet adjacent to the shower and could not tell what was leaking. It appeared to be a small or slow leak and had not been leaking long. The faucet was 20 years old and suspect. We had used Aztec in the past to replace a water heater and repair a toilet. I called Aztec on Monday and they arrived as scheduled on Tuesday morning. We knew we had to replace the shower and valve anyway, it was leaking from the shower head, had rusted and couldn't be removed from the front. The plumber explained what had to be done to discover where the leak was coming from and we allowed him to remove a small section of drywall in the closet. The leak was not coming from the valve but rather from the connection for the shower nozzle. He quoted us a price to repair the pipe, install a new valve and shower faucet as per our request. He also had to replace the pipe leading to the valve and to the nozzle. I had shopped around for shower assemblies-rough in as well as faucets. The price was good, fair for the work that had to be done. The plumber was most courteous and helpful in explaining what he was doing. He was very much a professional. When he was done, he cleaned up the area. He explained he could not repair the drywall but I had no expectation that he would. I needed to dry the area and mildewcide- he agreed. The next day, someone from Aztec called and asked how things went and if we were satisfied. Aztec is so responsive, professional, competent and overall just great to deal with.
