We found out it was only needed a new capacitor. It was a horrible experience and we had to take them to court and we won! I found the company non reputable and I would not trust them with any type of work. The air conditioning have been working perfectly ever since.
Description of Work: They said I need a new AC system and they were going to charge us thousands of dollars which I had fixed for $200 with parts and labor included.

Was pleasantly surprised that they had someone to my home within an hour or so of calling. The tech was very pleasant and appeared knowledgeable. I believed everything he told me and signed a contract to have them install a new system (based on info above). They'd originally said they could be there that afternoon to do the install, but then said it would be the next morning. Fortunately, because of the delay, I was convinced by a friend to get a second opinion. It turns out that all I needed was a $105 capacitor. Once installed by the second company (in under 5 minutes) the system started cooling immediately and has been working ever since (now about 9 months). Called All American within a couple hours of signing the contract to tell them put it on hold pending the second opinion, and then called after that to tell them system was fixed and to cancel the order. Also indicated that I was not pleased that I'd been lied to about the condition of my system and my options for repair. There was no call from All American with an apology. Instead, they pushed through the charge for the full amount of the system! My credit card company got them to reduce that, but All American was claiming the right to hold 10% of the cost plus a service fee based on terms and conditions on the back of the contract that I didn't even know were there (much less agreed to) until they pointed them out. After speaking with the owner, who never admitted I'd been lied to or deceived and offered only a "really good deal on a new system" to make me feel better, I took them to small claims court. I won, largely on the grounds that their boiler plate contract wasn't fair to the purchaser since it wasn't clearly disclosed. Would rather have won on fraud, but that's a toughie to prove.
Description of Work: Examined my a/c which was running, but putting out only hot air. Told me after just a few minutes that my fan motor was burned out and the compressor was blown. Estimate for repairs was $1500+ - probably more like over $2000 - with no guarantee that the system would work, or that (if it did) it would continue for long. The option was a new system with a 10-year guarantee at a cost ot me of roughly $6400.

This year technition barged in door not waiting for resident to answer. Darted all over saying we needed duct cleaning and ultra violet light for furnace for $2000. Poor customer service, intimidating and superior attitude. Said filter was $400 and would take three weeks. Being suspicious, owner researched last two years invoices and found prices of airfilters being 2.5 times less after he left. When called, office girl said she have technition call but he didn't. Finally called and said filter would be here on Friday, but not delivered until Wednesday-the wrong filter. When questioned he claimed he didn't have the right number for the order, when that was not a problem last year. Very belligerent and made excuses. I was afraid of this man. I had a security guard from the condo stay as a witness. I asked the technition to leave- the conversation was going no where and I didn't want to talk about it anymore. He called a short time after leaving and asked if I wanted a refund. I answered "Yes" and he said that was the only way it would work as he didn't appreicate a guard standing over him like he was a criminal.
Description of Work: Had three year service agreement with annual checkup and special media filter changed. Technition came to check the furnace and change the filter for last two years for $150 for filter.

I received an unsolicited phone call from them. They offered to do a check up on my system for $39.95. I wasn't interested in the check up service but I asked the man if they did any types of repairs. He said yes and inquired what I was looking for. I told him that the left side of the house (where we sleep) isn't near as cold as the right side. He said he was not sure what would be needed but he could have someone stop by and give a free estimate. I agreed that it would be a good idea.. The next day two men showed up walked around and said it was an easy fix. The more they talked the more sceptical I became. When they gave me the price ($3350) I must admit, I was shocked. But I said ok anyway. The next day two other men showed up, worked all day and cleaned up after themselves. The two young men were very polite and very professional even though it was a 95 degree day and they had to spend most of it in the attic. The end of the story is that it certainly improved the A/C conditions in the house. Although it still seems like a lot of money it solved the problem.
Description of Work: Installed additional A/C returns to improve overall cooling of the home.

They did a great job installing the A/C, but I'm not satisfied with the service contract. They haven't come out for the service in the last year, and when they did come, they tried to sell me things I didn't need. They said they would come out, but only will between 1-5pm, which is when I work. I talked to the supervisor, and he said he'd call me and make me the first stop but I haven't heard from him.
Description of Work: They installed my Air Conditioner and set up a service contract.
