Since 1984 this locally owned and operated business has incorporated as Alert 1 Security, Florida license number EF000185. We serve the security system, CCTV, central vacuum, surround sound and audio distribution needs of Lee, Collier, Charlotte and Hendry Counties. Alert 1 Security is one of the oldest and most respected custom independent burglar alarm companies in Southwest Florida. Our foundation is built on great service and a mutual consideration of our clients needs.

Very poor response when called for service. Old outdated technology used for alarm system. Worse customer service in the area. The system did not really provide much protection for our business. Too many false alarms cost our business security and money for bothering Lee County Sheriff. To protect our business we invested in new technology and a new monitoring company even though we are stuck in a contract with this provider - that should give you a sense of how bad they are at providing protection. if you want security for your business - stay away from this "security" company.

This is the most blatant bunch of lies that could ever be dreamed up. We installed state of the art an DSC1832 alarm panel in 2009, along with all accessories needed to provide a partitioned system, with all of the intricacies needed to provide multiple users with access, with individual user codes, and passwords to track the comings and goings. We had uploaded the panel remotely many times thru the telephone, saving the client service call fees, so as to change codes etc, instead of charging each time to go to the site. The simple fact that a 36 month agreement was signed in 2009, and for 3 years the client must have been happy because they happily resigned another 36 month agreement in September 2012. And now we move to March 2013 and because the owner doesn't want to be called every time an employee enters the building during an undesignated time that was selected by the client on an opening/closing schedule this is the kind of review they write, I had on May 31, 2013 gotten an email from (member name removed) and I quote her here " Hi Deb, I understand there seems to be a disagreement about cancelling our service, I'm sorry that we have had to make this decision as you have always been so kind and available to me over the phone. I haven't been working as much as (name removed) lately, especially in the building and when he ran into issues more than once it became to much in the way of his focussing on business, and he had quickly find a different solution that would quickly work well for him to manage the building. Once I knew he was moving forward fast with change, I called your office and asked the women who answered the phone what the process is necessary to cancel service, and I was told it had to be in writing with 30 days notice (i will interject here: 30 days notice prior to expiration of the contract)Quoty continued "You know situations like this are never fun, i never enjoy having to leave a business relationship and when that does happen, I prefer to do it with respect and as professional as possible. We would never not refer your company, we just found something that fits our needs at this time.." unquote (member name removed). Copy of this email is available to anyone who requests it!!!. This review obviously was written as retaliation, for expecting our client to honor the contract that they signed ,especially when we were doing only what they has asked us to do. Unfortunately customers that use forums such as Angie's list in a dishonest way just to punish a business who has had an impeccable reputation for 40 years, is just not right!! Respectfully, Debra A. Prompt and education oriented. Small reduction with home insurance because of having this monitored alarm system. Alarms are easy to use and program.
Description of Work: 2200 sq ft house alarms on doors, windows, breaking glass alarm, and smoke alarms. Also alarms on doors & windows for 2100 sq ft garage.
