Marine electronics were mis-wired, 2 GPS systems burned up because of it. What happened was, he came on the boat, and He told me that he would charge me $50 an hour and he, when he finished he charged me $75 an hour and he never finished the work. He left it undone, and when I asked him about it he got mad and took his bill for $1200 and sent me the next one for $2400. So I have 2 bills, one for $1200 and one for $2400. So He said if I didn't pay the $1200 bill, he would lien the boat and then he turned around and said he'd lien my boat for 2400 because thats what its really worth. And he never finished the boat. And he miswired the GPS's so that they were getting 24 volts instead of 12 and it ruined the circuit boards on them and I had to send them to Garmin to have them overhauled at a cost of $650 each. That's' when it started when found out that he did that, I said, you know your burning up the GPS's. I didn't pay anything as of yet. He charged me $1200 and I told him that wasn't correct, He didn't work those hours. He agreed to to come up here at $50 an hour. But he didn't do that, he turned around and He charged me $75 an hour, which wasn't agreed upon. He also charged me for travel time which was not agreed upon. There was no work order so he could make up whatever he wanted. When he got there, he didn't say anything about the fee changing, but then when he did the work and he found out he messed up the GPS's he left and left me a bill for $1200. So when I called him and told him your scamming me, and that you left all the stuff undone and he said if you don't like the bill, watch the next one.And then I got the bill for $2400. And then he said, you better pay or I'm going to lien your boat. I'm' happy to pay what I owe, but I'm not paying for South Florida scamming. It makes it impossible to pay it when you have someone who did that. He can't be trusted on your boat. somebody has to allow special consideration to allow someone like that on your boat. he can change the price on you and try to scam you for more money than what you agreed on. And his ultimate weapon is so say he will lien your boat.Well He can't lien your boat without a court hearing and I plan on taking him to court. To let somebody like that on your boat who is intentionally try to scam you is a dangerous situation. Especially if he is not qualified to do the work, he's obviously not qualified. The way he did it, the GPS are tied to the starter button, which is 24 volts and they are 12 volt system.so when you start the system, a big diesel caterpillar system, it sends that 24 volts right at that GPS system. Its not even supposed to be wired into that system. your getting a surge of electricity. He was just a jewel. Most of his work was of a decent quality if he knew how to wire it correctly. The quality was fair. He made some serious mistakes, and he didn't complete them.HE didnt say oh gosh, let me fix that. He would just say well its' not my problem, that's not my problem. Well who put the GPS in, your did! "Well, it's not my problem!" This is his first year, he's been in business since 2016, marine electronics. Responsiveness, he hasn't responded. He was very punctual. He was average or above average for punctual. Basically the complaint that I have is not only did he not finish the work, but he overbilled, and when I questioned him about his billing, he doubled it. He didn't repair his mistakes, unwilling to repair his mistakes. He exaggerated his original bill, and then when I refused to pay that amount, he doubled it. Professionalism is very bad.
