Overall I feel lucky the experience went as well as it did. Haven't found anything broken in my boxes so far.
Description of Work: The estimater was very efficient and responsive. This company did only over-the phone-estimate. The packers/movers were very nice; only one of the two spoke English, however, and not too well at that. We were moving only boxes, most of which I had packed myself and I'm glad. I was not pleased with how these movers packed...not enough bubble, and padding. Some things they didn't put into boxes at all and some of those were scratched or damaged. They didn't even do an inventory or mark our boxes for ID. They had more than one family's household goods on the same truck...without ID! I am now uncertain whether I have all my boxes. The truck guys moved the arrival date for the packing and loading up by one day and tried to move it up again, but we refused. To their credit, they were very cordial and the transport was quick. They picked up our stuff on Monday in Oklahoma and it arrived in Maryland on the following Saturday. We are moving our furniture separately and I am definitely using a different company. I wouldn't trust this one with my furniture. The price was quite low in our case. Apparently the weight was underestimated because we have a lot of books. Their truck was over allowable weight limits and they didn't want to document that, so we had double the estimated weight and paid only the estimate. I would not use this company again. Just didn't feel good about it.

They informed me that the driver would not be there until Monday (as of approximately 6PM). I called United States Van Lines, which had someone there. They let me know that I had signed paperwork for a pick up variance of 9th-10th, and that there was nothing I could do. The gentleman called me at 7:15 Monday to tell me he would be there about 8:30. He then called me back to let me know it would be 9:30 since he had some paperwork he had to do at the truck stop. He then called back and told me the truck was stuck at the truck stop. He finally showed up at 11:30 and had to call to get people to help him with the shipment. He finished at 8:00 that evening. During that time I found out he had no intention of going directly to Colorado, and that he was going to be waiting on another shipment out of Albuquerque. I told him I had to go to Kansas to start my new job, but that I would be able to drive back the following weekend for a Sunday Delivery. He asked me how far my home was from the Keystone Ski area because he wanted to go snowboarding while out there. I spoke with him from work on Friday, late afternoon, and he assured me he could be there on Sunday. He called me later on Friday 10 minutes before six that he could not do that, as he could not get anyone to help him deliver the shipment Sunday. He said he would be there first thing Monday morning and that I would be unpacked by noon. I told him this would not work. I let him know I could not be there as I have to be back to work on Tuesday. He let me know that he would get back to me on Saturday to figure out if it can be put in storage. I called another moving company to get the furniture stored as I had not heard back. I haven't heard back, my things are supposed to be there this morning. When they came to pick up the furniture they asked me to sign paperwork that would insure the shipment for 60 cents per pound per item. They had not offered me additional insurance, and told me that since the driver was there it was impossible to buy more insurance for my higher ticket items. These included 2 pieces of sculpture valued at $14,000 per. The final estimate of the weight was 9,000 pounds, exact weight 9,900 (this was the second estimate). MBM Moving Systems LLC is who they hired to actually do the move.
Description of Work: They were to pick me up in Gallup, NM on the 9th, so I had turned off the water/power, etc. They assured me the only reason the driver would not make it was because of weather problems, and that the drivers were local within the western region. This was as of Friday.

They quoted me, but it went up over 200% from beginning to end. They run a scam. From the beginning to end the price always went up. This has been a nightmare. The employees who set this contract up are Alan Levithan and Paul Hughes. We smelled marijuana on the movers when they arrived for this move. This was such a horrible experience. I plan on taking these idiots all the way up to whatever court I can. I am wheelchair bound with oxygen and a brain injury. I explained all of this to them and they took full advantage of me. They are low lifes.
Description of Work: They moved us from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Maryland. They undid my wall unit and computer desk for the move. When we got to Maryland they spent an hour just trying to put together my wall unit and finally gave up. They left it and my computer desk completely undone in the middle of my floor after saying it would be no problem to put together. I would never have chose them based on this alone. They told me it would be no problem to ship my items in accordance with the dates I would be here in Maryland. Come to find out it would have been $250.00 a day had I not arrived at my house on the 11th. Because of this I lost two hotel reservations. I arrived on the 11th and they didn’t get here until the 15th. They even told us if we pack our own things it would be cheaper which was not the case. We wound up paying for their boxes as well. Boxes that were clearly marked as to what room they go to were all left in the garage.
