SHUTTER SYSTEMS MANUFACTURING OF FLORIDA INC

I spoke w/ a sales person who came out and wrote out an estimate and promised to have them installed by the end of June. I gave them a deposit to lock in the date. The month of June came and went, no install or call to explain why. I called and spoke with them in July and they stated that due to unable to get delivery material they were unable to honor the contract. They stated it would take another 6 to 8 weeks. I called back in Sept and all I got was an answering machine. I tried to make contact 3 times no response. At the end of the month I requested my deposit back, no response, I ended up taking them to court and got my money back.

I gave a $1600 deposit in March 2006 to have them install hurricane shutters on my condominium. I was told that they would be installed by the start of the 2006 hurricane season. Several other unit owners also gave deposits. I have only heard once from this company in the past year. In July 2006, I received a letter from them saying that there is a shortage of hurricane shutter supplies. Prior to that, I had been given another explanation. They have done a poor job of communicating with me, and almost one year later, I have not received any word from them (written or verbal) as to when (or if) they intend to complete the work. There has been no mention of a refund of this money either. Even if there is a shortage of hurricane supplies, this could have been handled better on their part by at least keeping us informed.
