I called SC Electric and asked for a quote for replacement of the entire fuse panel for my parents. The owner agreed to come and see the current panel and to provide a quote for the job. The time was set for 12:00 and my parents waited for him until after 1:30 when they had to leave. No call. No email. Nothing. Very unprofessional. His work may be good but he'll never get a chance with us again. Thank goodness there are many other electricians who want the work and will show up. On time.

Shawn Came out to quote landscape lighting. While reviewing our property layout for the quote, he came across the strange looking pool light and electrical set-up. He asked for my permission to investigate. Upon his review it was determined that we had an improperly installed pool light connection. It was high voltage and ungrounded. I am sure that he saved my family from certain death. I am so grateful for his services. He is prompt, professional and fair priced!

This is third time I've used Sean, and this review covers this visit and the second visit, each representing 5-6 hrs of work. Impressed by the work he did on an initial visit in the fall, I made a laundry list of long neglected electric work I wanted done in my 35 year old large house. There were more than 10 things on the list. Each would have represented a service call in its own right, and were mostly things that a casual DIYer wouldn't tackle, such as rerouting wires through the wall, ceiling and attic, and relocating wall switches without messing up the existing wall. I think the best way to use a service provider that you trust is bunch your jobs together and don't demand an exact estimate or a separate trip out for an estimate (send pictures if you must). This certainly worked well with Sean, who works very efficiently and skillfully on a time and material basis. Items completed ? One switch was controlling two fans in two bedrooms (weird). Sean isolated the second bedroom to its own switch. ? Relocated an electric outlet for a washing machine. ? Installed two new circuits for exterior security lighting, and installed the lights. ? Extended a circuit for a ceiling light, adding a new flush mount light ? Swapped out ceiling cans to integrated LEDs ? Found a loose wire that had caused an outlet to fail ? Installed a new circuit for lights in an outdoor kitchen ? Activated an abandoned outdoor outlet on an exterior patio ? Activated a mystery abandoned switch controlling a loft, and rewired the loft outlets so they were not on the switch. Two more visits to go, each for larger jobs: ? Low voltage wiring for interior and exterior security cameras ? Modernizing an old pool pump control area that has rusted boxes and leftover mystery electric junk and wires.

Shaun is terrific - I couldn't be happier with his work or the very reasonable cost. I'd had him do some fairly extensive repairs on my house several years ago when I first moved in, and based on his work and cost, I didn't even bother getting an estimate when I needed some work completed again. I just called and made an appointment. I really appreciate the fact that he was willing to work around my work schedule and came late in the afternoon so that I didn't have to miss more than an hour of work. I had attempted to wire an existing ceiling fan with a remote, and while the wiring wasn't complicated, the ceiling fan wasn't attached the way it was in the "helpful" video (my bad - I should have seen that it was missing the pole), and when I unbolted it, it dropped like a rock. I caught it, but saw that the wires were under considerable tension and that the ground had snapped loose, so I knew it was time for an expert. Shaun basically had to take the fan apart - take all the blades off, open it up, rewire everything, wire in the remote, put it back together and hang it up, which he did in about 45 minutes. Since he was already there, I asked him to take a look at an outside light that had never worked, and in 15 minutes, he'd taken that apart, diagnosed and fixed the problem. He works quickly and efficiently - no wasted time whatsoever, and that keeps the costs down. He has my highest recommendation.

Shawn previously installed three light fixtures and I was so impressed with his service that I had him come back a second time. Both times he was early, extremely courteous and I particularly appreciated the pertinent questions he asked regarding alignment and he was very detail oriented.

I found Shawn, the owner/electrician, to be professional, efficient and competent. The fixtures look good and work well. I found his prices to be reasonable.

I had a few electrical odds and ends that I needed someone to complete and I found S C here on Angies list and my experience with him was fantastic. I could only give him a short window of time to come and do the work and he worked quickly, and professionally. I had many electrical questions for him and he took the time to explain many things around the house to. I will defiantly use him again. I'm not sure of when I had the work completed it was last year sometime.

Needed this work done for a laundry room renovation. Scheduled the visit a few days in advance and Sean called while on his way. Service was performed on first visit with a can-do attitude and no wasted steps (he knew what he was doing). This is my first use of his service and I will definitely use again. Shawn originally said he'd be able to fit me in either Friday or Monday. As it happened he called me early Thursday morning and came round straightaway. He worked quickly to diagnose the problem and in less than an hour I had my outdoor ceiling fans working again. Quick and professional at a reasonable price. Thanks Shawn.

He was very professional, prompt and very easy to talk to. I had messaged him the previous night and arranged an appointment the next morning. Shawn and his helper came out to a troubleshoot a GFCI circuit that wasn't resetting and was finished pretty fast. What I really like was that he took the time to explain both to me and my tenant how to troubleshoot if there were further issues

It went great. Sean and his colleague called to let me know they were on the way, they arrived promptly, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and educated me about the electric system in my new house. I have had problems with my tankless water heater for ages. I have had multiple plumbers, and electricians come and claim to have fixed my heater, but always the fix has been short lived (a few days at best) and we have been without truly hot water for ages. FINALLY, Shawn Carreras, from SC Electric put some proper time to diagnose the problem. He had not seen my type of heater, but when he wasn't sure about what the problem was, he promptly looked up the number of the manufacturer and called the customer service department. He spoke to them, explaining that he was the electrician and they walked him through multiple tests for this specific unit using various meters that he had. Within half an hour, it was clear that I had a problem with the electrical boards of my heater, which are unfortunately not made anymore. The representative who had been on trephine from the company, though offered a refurbished one at a fraction of the price of a new one. I am sure that had he nt spent the time talking to the representative and testing the unit, relaying the information to her, and demonstrating the problematic electric boards that we would not have even been offered the replacement unit. I have used Shawn for several electrical problems and he has ALWAYS managed to find the problem & fix the problem, often when others have not been able to. He sometimes sounds a bit rough around the edges when you call for a quote or an appointment, but trust me it will be worthwhile time and money spent. Similarly, he is not cheap, BUT you get what you pay for. He is prompt, polite and professional and since I am blessed to be able to spend a little more for quality work, I am happy to do it for a hard worker who gives me good results. No hesitation at all recommending SC Electric!

Shawn is the best contractor I've ever worked with..and I've dealt with ALOT. He is very nice, professional, ALWAYS on time and gets the job done correctly the first time. We got estimates from a few contractors before we found Shawn and they all were way over priced and treated us like they really didn't need our work. Other contractors wanted to charge us $400-$600 just for the permit and Shawn charged us exactly what the city charged him, $100. He showed up on the day/time he said he would, installed everything, cleaned up the whole area and even helped me set up my generator to show me how to use the switch. He did not have to do that! Upon inspection (which passed the first time, unlike all the other contractors I have used in the past!) he even labeled my breaker box with little stickers so I wouldn't forget what breakers should & shouldn't be used with the generator AND he even typed me out instructions with exactly each step on how to transfer the power from FPL to the generator. All the other contractors would not even include showing us how to use the switch. Shawn is the best! He is definitely going to stay my electrician for any other work I need done and I highly recommend him to everyone.

This is the second time we've used this electrician. He is prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, professional. There is no mess left behind to clean up when the job is finished. Prices are fair. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for an honest electrician who does not waste time in order to build up the bill.

Shawn Carreras is the principal in this business. He always answered my calls on the first or second ring, if he was able to; and, if not, was prompt in returning my calls as soon as he was able to. He and his helper arrived promptly when he said they would. While I had purchased the fixtures already, I had neglected to obtain the bulbs. So I had to go several places to find the type he recommended; and, By the time I returned, all of the fixtures were in place (no small job; some of the sites had deteriorated and required additional work to make them solid enough to hold the fixtures securely). After he had finished, had aimed all of them where I asked him to, and had stowed his ladder on the truck. he made a second tour to make sure that they were satisfactory. He found one of the fixtures to be aimed a little lower than he thought I would want it to be so he took the initiative to go back, take his ladder off the truck, and adjust it to where he thought it would please me. This kind of pride and satisfaction in one's work are rare attributes to find in a tradesman today. I would recommend him unequivocally to anyone who needs any kind of electrical service performed. He is competent, capable, and is a man of integrity. My thanks to Angie's list for having introduced him to me.

Shawn was excellent. He was very punctual, knowledgable, courteous and very honest. I had an electrical problem in my garage where I had lost total power to the gargage only. I thought it was the breaker so I changed the breaker myself,still no power. There were no gfi's to reset. So I called S C Electric Shawn came out came did some troubleshooting and found the problem within 15 min and fixed the problem in 10 min. I would highly recommend Shawn, and will definitely be using him again in the future. I will also be recommending him to my friends.

Shawn does excellent work and I'd recommend him to anyone. I'm a repeat client, most recently this past month and before that a few years ago to update electrical for a kitchen renovation. Shawn takes care of the permit application so you're really just having to work thru him for what you need done. Reliable and trustworthy, I'll be calling on Shawn for any of my electrical needs.

We called Shawn for an estimate and he was right on time. We were moving in three weeks and pretty desparate to get work done. We tore down two walls ourselves and found some crazy looking electrical tube sticking out of the floor. Instead of giving us an estimate, poor guy started working right away as we had a contractor coming in next day. Like who does that?!!!! We were sooooo happy and we felt confident he knew what he was doing in just by talking to him. We knew he knew his stuff !!! He did what he needed to do, spent over an hour (and it was after work hours), so that the general contractor could start work next day. Then he came back a few days later to finish the job. He installed two recessed lights in our master bedroom which had no attic access. I dont know how he did it but he installed two lights with their own dimmers. There was a glitch in one light and it was because we bought the Home Depot brand, which did not work well at all. We ended up replacing with Halo lights (much better quality). He had to relocate the outlets from the walls we knocked down to another standing wall. Great job !! He cleans up after himself, you would never know he was there. He also put on booties so our floors wouldn't get dirty. I would hire him again in a heart beat and would recommend to all my family and friends. Shawn is def our electrician as long as we own our home. We actually need him to come out again to install a new ceiling fan in our livingroom! Expect a call Shawn !!! :-)
