He was prompt, professional, and courteous. They did an excellent job.

Peter knew how to go about it. His crew of 5 guys zipped through 60 feet of palms in a little less than an hour with the results I was hoping for.

All went as requested Arrived at time requested. Equipment wasn't capable of cutting over 30feet branches

Went great. Peter was prompt when coming to do the estimate as well as getting the work done.

It could not have gone better. I had called R&R before Thanksgiving and Peter, the owner, asked if he could call back on the following Monday to set an appointment to see the job and estimate it. I heard from him Monday (today), he came over within an hour, the price was acceptable and as luck would have it, his crew was only ten minutes away and just finishing a job. Basically, it is now about three hours after I initially spoke with Peter and the job is done. He had a seven man crew here who took care of a lot of work in very short order. They left the area totally free of debris, they did all the work we had agreed upon for a very reasonable price . From where I sit, it does not get any better than this.

Last summer I had hired R&R for a smaller residential job and gave them a well earned top grade in Angie’s List... Peter, an owner of R&R, scheduled his estimate at 3 the following afternoon. About 2:30 he called to say he could be 20 minutes early if it was all right. Great! We walked the areas and he said he’d be back between 8:30 and 9:00 the next morning to complete and deliver a detailed bid. He was on time and delivered his written bid. I attempted to have 4 companies bid, but 2 never responded and Peter’s was comparable with the number 4. Based upon my prior experience I went with R&R. There were 3 business days "necessary for the utility companies to map the location of lines or cables" in the immediate location of my trees. Tuesday, right on schedule, we watched the team of 5 or 6 workers pull the towering branches out of the overhead power lines, and remove the horizontal branches that hung over the walls and sidewalks. Then they cut the trunks into sections that could be chipped into mulch. Aside from a suitable amount of mulch to begin the necessary decomposition process of the lower roots, three additional truckloads were hauled away During the subsequent stump grind, extra preparation was taken to protect the surface of our walls and to avoid contact with cables and pipes. These guys are artists and aside from that were all professional, polite. John, who skillfully maneuvered the stump grinder through the enormous bulk of stumps, said no chemicals would be used in the soil that could harm existing or future plantings, and importantly that could leach into the storm drains and aquifer."R&R Tree Specialists" arrived at 8:30 Tuesday morning and the team was here until 3:30 p.m. when they finished and cleaned up completely. Others from my HOA who witnessed the work and saw the results agreed I made the right decision. I would definitely rehire and recommend R & R Tree Service without any hesitation at all. Thank you.

They are good. It cost me around $500 to $600 when they come out. They do a good job. They wind up doing some work in the neighborhood too. The best thing is they do it very quickly. I think they are a little bit high. I will call them again. I always do.

The very day before Hurricane Matthew was due to strike I made a desperate last-minute call to Pete in the early AM, hoping but not expecting that he would be able to help me out on such short notice. I left a message and Pete got back to me less than two hours later. I explained to him how my much-loved 35 year-old mango tree was way, way overgrown and had developed a huge wind profile, and was sure to be knocked over if we had gotten hit even moderately hard by the storm. This same tree had actually been knocked over by Wilma in 2005; a crew came to cut it up and cart it away, but after they had cut it all the way back so that it looked like a hat-rack, it had stood back up, so we decided to give it another chance at life. Over the last eleven years it came roaring back, but now it was in danger again. Pete showed up at the house with his full crew not long after our conversation and asked me what I had in mind. I asked him to reduce the height by about 10' or so, and aside from that to just do whatever in his judgment he felt ought to be done. Pete's crew did a really superb job pruning the tree, thinning out the excessive growth, and preparing it for a healthy and vigorous future. It looks great from all angles, and I could see that with the reduced wind profile, my tree now had a greatly enhanced likelihood of surviving the hurricane if it had struck us as had been forecast. Pete's crew also trimmed my coconut palm, which was laden with dozens of coconuts that would have taken off like cannonballs in a high wind. I really appreciate the excellent work, and the manner in which Pete made it his business to help me out under these trying circumstances, even though I had never called on his company before. I will be sure to call on them again for future services.

At first -- horribly. They failed to show up for the work (even though I had called to remind them the day before) and then failed to call or apologize. I wrote a very negative review and wondered if they'd respond. They didn't. Out of curiosity I rang them again weeks after the no-show event and asked just why they hadn't either appeared or called. No explanation or excuse or apology -- but a promise to put me down for "first thing" Monday. I'd been as impressed with Mr Hoyt's tree-knowledge at our initial meeting as I was profoundly unimpressed by the subsequent (non) performance. I decided to accept the offer and, yes, they did show up this time as promised, and, yes, did the promised work quite satisfactorily. So I give them an "A" for performance and an "F" for organization. They are a small outfit and appear to use this as their blanket excuse for missed appointments -- but they DO have phones and could EASILY have apologized for wasting customer time. If you use them, be VERY aware of both their strength (good work, when eventually done) and weakness (glaring disorganization.)

Called on a Sunday. I received a call back in less than 2 hours and the estimator was at my house the same day. Outstanding work, very professional. Would highly recommend.

Work was done properly for a tree trimming and root pruning. I did not rate “A” for Peter because I had a bad experience of a Landscaping service for a new tree installation referred by Peter. The new tree installation did by Andy (Andrea DiBosco). Andy said he had no credit card machine and need all payment by check. I paid all ($955) by checks as he requested. However, he cashed the check then ran-away left the inferior work, a tree troubled in city inspection. I called and e-mailed him to ask a receipt of the tree but no any answer. Very well. Came out right away to give an estimate, and on approval, scheduled my job for two weeks out. Did not ask for a deposit.They had some cancellations and were able to do the job four days after approval. Trimmed palms, a large oak tree removed two dead palms and ground stumps, cleaned up landscaping in the front of my house. Crew did a great job, cleaned up and hauled off all debris. I would definitely use R & R again.

Initially I made calls to 3 providers and left messages for call backs. Peter from R & R was the first to return my call. He was able to schedule an estimate visit in a timely manner. After conversation about my job and unique situation: -removing 4 Alexander Palm, medium height at about 40' and a trunk diameter of 9" -a congested townhome garden about 24' x 14' and loaded with immovable containers and plantings -primarily indoor access to garden, meaning tools and tree cuts would need to be carried to the outside. In spite of the special townhome configuration, Peter’s crew did a spectacular job. In about 90 minutes the job was done to my complete satisfaction. His team removed all the targeted palm material, even cleaning up the sawdust throughout the area. I have only the highest regard for the job performance and professional regard for time and customer convenience. He knows his stuff and I would hire R&R for any project. Thank you.

Pete returned my call and came to my home the same day I had called for an estimate. He was very professional and polite and explained what he planned to do to my trees. (Live Oak and a Mahogany) He said he would be able to perform the trimming in 3 days, but he was able to return even a day earlier. He called me the evening before to insure I would be home the next day and let me know what time he and his crew would arrive. He showed up on time, and his crew did a fantastic job trimming and cleaning up the job site upon completion. My yard looked like they were not even here after the clean-up. I would recommend Pete to anyone who wants to have a “real professional crew” trim their trees, and not put up with the South Florida shuffle many of the other tree service companies do to customers. Arrived on scheduled time for estimate. scheduled appointment for work which was moved up a few days when the company's schedule had some earlier appointments available. arrived on time, performed work, cleaned up and removed any signs of work completed. Happy! I would use them again.

Pete returned my call the same day, the following day he met me at my home and provided a hand written estimate on the spot- after he spent a significant amount of time looking at my trees (they were evidently horribly butchered by a low ball provider at one time). I LOVE me large trees but could tell that they needed some professional attention. Pete had a laser pointer and showed me specific "trouble" spots on the trees. He also listened to my concerns that they not be "raised" too high (like some tree "disasters" I've seen). We scheduled an appointment for the following week. Pete arrived punctually with his professional, friendly, team. In well under 2 hours the entire job was finished to perfection, including clean-up. His price was more than fair. He said that he wanted to earn my business and establish a long term relationship to take care of my trees. We could not be more delighted with the results, and Pete and his team. They will be our ONLY tree service provider. I've already referred him to others.

Of three palm trees along the fence line on our neighbor's property, the largest was hanging over our 2-story screened patio and two others would have grown to do the same. R&R cut to the ground the three trees and two other trunks that had been cut some time before. Peter returned my call and kept the appointment for a quote, which was competitive with others I received. Coordinating with our neighbor took about a week, and I reset the appointment for the work a couple of times. I presume it was frustrating to Peter, but he never let on. He was understanding, patient and accommodating. Removing the largest palm from over the screening was tricky enough, but more so because it had a hole in it, making it weak. We provided plywood and R&R placed it on top of the screening for protection. R &R cut, chippedit all and left the area clean. Peter and his crew were reliable and efficient, and I would use them again.

Pete came out and gave me a fair quote for services that were a bit higher than a previous estimate, but I thought he was the better man for the job. Day of service he came out took care of it and wrapped up while I was at the office. Everything cleaned up without me needing to do anything as well. Unfortunately, his team did nick my phone line during the work which is not something they will cover, though he said they do their best not to hit anything underground when removing and grinding. Fortunately, AT&T was able to repair the line cut without any charge. While I don't blame Pete for this - it wasn't immediately clear that he would not cover costs for an issue like this so I'm mentioning it in the review. With that said, I will continue to use his services in the future and would recommend R & R to my friends.

A lot of clowns stop by your house and offer to trim your trees, but Pete's the real deal. He called within 24 hours of my leaving a message. Showed up for an estimate in 1 or 2 days. Cooperative in scheduling the actual work. Showed up on time. Thank you Angie's List.

This is the second time we've used R&R. As usual, their work was excellent. Reliable and reasonable.
