I was introduced to Plantation Construction by my architect whilst planning an outbuilding/workshop Jim Ingersoll provided all the services you would want from a builder/contractor. His suggestions on design, instructive education on the permitting system and his involvement in each step of the process could not have been more professional -- and productive. I was pleased with each step of the process and give an A+ in all areas of the project. His pricing appeared slightly on the high side --- until I saw the unfolding of the age old adage -- "you get what you pay for". Workmanship you don't usually find in South Florida. I have since used his company three additional times for projects big and small and am always pleased. Highly (HIGHLY) recommended.

In April of this year I purchased a 22-year-old home in Weston after relocating to Weston for a new job opportunity. We knew several things needed to be corrected in the home when we purchased it like exterior and interior painting and I wanted new flooring in all the bedrooms and had planned to remodel one of the bathrooms. My realtor recommended Jim Ingersoll of Plantation Construction. I have been thrilled with her recommendation. We contacted Jim and he managed the entire process, starting in April after closing upon the home. Upon moving in we had issues undisclosed to us by the sellers. The bathroom slate tile started rusting out, the air conditioning unit went out and the gutters started leaking. We had a bamboo forest overtaking the property. So, we had a much larger project on our hands now with a master bath remodel added, roofing repairs and gutter replacement, along now with landscaping needs. Jim took care of it all for us. Jim and his crew were invaluable in guiding us through the remodel of our home. He was kind and patient and managed the entire process from start to finish, including the permits and HOA documentation. He brought in top quality workers to complete the renovation. His carpenter Dave is amazing, so talented. I love my new vinyl flooring in the bedrooms which Jim recommended as it looks just like wood but is waterproof and guaranteed for life. The bathroom they remodeled is simply beautiful. The tilers did a fabulous job. The painters he brought in were exceptional. We love our newly painted home. They painted every room, every ceiling, all the trim the exterior of the home and trim as well. His electricians were equally talented. I wanted all the electrical switches and outlets replaced to modernize the home and new fans installed. We had them move some of the switches on walls as well. They did great work. I hired a landscaper on my own to remove the bamboo forest. I should have had Jim do this because I paid this landscape and the bamboo all grew back! But Jim to the rescue. He brought in a crew and a bobcat and dug the bamboo out and we are now bamboo free! I learned my lesson – let Jim bring in the right people for the job. Jim has even helped educate us about how to prepare for hurricane season and checked out all our shutters to make sure they were working properly. Throughout the process Jim worked with us to keep the cost down, like recommending we don’t replace exterior light fixtures put have them painted. They look brand new and we saved money! He showed us all the receipts as material was purchased and kept us apprised of the work and expenses as we went along. I kept adding and changing my requests and he was so kind and patient with me. I have heard horror stories from colleagues about working with contractors in South Florida and so I feel so blessed that we lucked out and found Plantation Construction and Realty. This whole project was completed in 3 ½ months. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Jim Ingersoll and Plantation Construction!!
