 + -1 moreJoe O'gorman is a great guy! professional, attentive, hard working and it is unbelievable that he is still working at this age.40 plus years in the business and it shows.We loved Joe, but the crew that he today and maybe not always, was not that great.One guy was a newbie and was lost all day, the other guy really was not as hard working as Joe. His son.If it was not for Joe it would have been a bad day. I hired him at the last minute so maybe his regular guys were not ready the day before I asked for help.He did his best and I appreciate his last minute help but his helpers cost us about 2 hours today more then what we should have paid.

 + -1 moreI do not remember the total cost for the work but thought it was reasonable since I did contact several other companies.
Description of Work: We used this company back in 2008 to load 5 PODS. We had packed our large home ourselves and quickly discovered we needed people who knew what they were doing to actually load them. We were able to use 5 PODS rather than 6 or7. We have now unloaded the PODS and are even more impressed with the great job that was done. We have no damage even though it was in storage for 4 years and had it transferred 700 miles. We purchased tons of paper blankets and boxes so we were prepared. The movers wrapped and taped all my furniture so the dust would not touch anything. They secured the load like a puzzle so nothing shifted. They used their skills to keep everything in perfect shape such as making sure our $$$ sofas had no indented or damaged foam. I would have loaded things on top of my sofas but they laid them on their backs and protected the arms so they look as good as new. Very nice people and they work well with nice people. If you are a reasonable person and need a great company that is trying to make a living...give them a call.

 + -1 moreI called Joe initially and sent him an inventory of my belongings a number of times none of which he claimed to receive. He then gave me his wife's personal email address and I tried again. This time he received it. Over the course of the next two weeks Joe proceeded to tell me how reliable his company was and how he would schedule a person to do a visual inspection of the items to moved. All told he called me at least 5 times with no time ever scheduled. Eventually, he simply stopped calling. All in all, a very odd way to try to get one's business.
Description of Work: No services were performed. No inspection was ever conducted despite his repeated calls to me apologizing to get back to me, but never actually scheduling a concrete time to inspect my belongings.

 + -1 moreThey were very good, very thorough, and very professional. They were much more detailed and on demand than another company as far as listing what was going to be moved, figuring out the wage, how we needed to get packaged and things like that. I actually felt more secure talking to them that I felt with the other company, but the estimate was almost double of that provided by the other company. They never came out to do the job. I would not call them again because they are expensive.

Description of Work: To reserve service, I made a phone call and Mrs. O'Gorman came to evaluate and estimate. We agreed on the price and moving date/time.

Description of Work: I got an estimate with the intent of using their services. I was given a good price. Mr O'Gorman was very nice. Seems like a very nice, family run business. I ended up moving myself because my family came down to help so I didn't need to use this service but I'm sure I would have been very happy.

 + 0 moreHe was on time, professional and handled our furniture and belongings with great care. The move took place on a Sunday and they stayed late at night to get the job done. He moved our copier as well and put all of the desks back together in each office. Not a single item was scratched or broken.
Description of Work: Joseph and his partners moved our office from a Las Olas location to E. Commercial Blvd.

 + -1 moreI could tell Joe was an honest guy the first time I spoke to him. I've moved 11 times on a corporate budget so I've seen my share of white glove movers and Joe is up there with the best. He directed me to an inexpensive source for moving supplies. He phoned the day before to make sure everything was a go. He phoned again the day of to let me know his time of arrival. He arrived with careful, courteous, cheerful and helpful loaders. Seems movers always have one guy that has little respect for your belongings but not this group. They were all great. Over the 2 days they loaded and I do mean loaded 5 large storage containers. They wrapped and taped all my furniture and loaded it so there would be no damage if it was in long term storage while we built. They worked late and they worked hard and their goal was to make me a happy customer...and they did!
Description of Work: We contacted Joe as well as several other movers to load some large storage containers that would be stored for awhile. The storage container company had given me 2 contacts they recommend for loading but I was concerned since (1) they were not from the area and they subcontracted out the job and (2) they charged by the number of containers they loaded, which is not necessarily the best motivation for packing them completely. More containers, more money, and more storage cost for us. I would rather deal with my movers directly, no middle man. The movers worked hard and I wanted my money to go to them. Joe and his crew came on 2 separate days and hauled down our packed boxes and furniture from our 2 story 3500 sq ft. home and carefully / completely loaded the containers like a giant puzzle.

Description of Work: They transported about 80 boxes of stuff and numerous pieces of furniture, a computer, printer, copier, large TV, a stereo system and numerous other things about 10 miles from my home to a continuing care facility within the state of Florida. Everything arrived unbroken and intact. The personnel were courteous and helpful. For example, although I was not paying for packing, they filled several wardrobe boxes with clothing for me without further charge. Everything was placed as requested.

 + -1 moreSOMEONE AT MY CHURCH RECOMMENDED THEM AND THEY WERE RIGHT! MY BELONGINGS ALL MADE IT TO THE NEW HOUSE WITHOUT BEING DAMAGED. THE MOVERS WERE POLITE AND RESPECTFUL OF MY THINGS. THEY TOOK TIME TO WRAP AND PROTECT ANY ITEM THAT COULD BE BROKEN.
Description of Work: EVERYTHING IN THE HOUSE WAS PACKED, LOADED INTO THE TRUCK, MOVED WITHIN THE STATE, UNLOADED, AND SET INTO THE VARIOUS ROOMS OF THE NEW HOME.
