+ -1 moreThey have been servicing our pool for at least 3 years now. They are actually honest. We are not there, but we know they actually show up and clean the pool. They are reliable, and honest. We pay $95 a month for them to clean the pool.

All A rated on Angies List. 1 company never called me back. 1 company called and said they were too busy to come give me a quote. 3 companies gave me quotes for the job. Gary Kaplan provided the quote for Ike's. He seemed very competent and answered all my questions before I asked.. Ike's quote was slightly lower than the other 2 quotes I got for the job, but not enough to make a big difference. Ike's had recently redone a friends pool and were highly recommended by our friends. This was my primary reason for choosing Ike's. Job started two weeks after contract signed, as scheduled. Gary stayed in touch throughout the job (either visits to the job site or calls) to keep me informed about the job. Gary met us at the showroom to pick out the color finish and the new tiles. There are a LOT of alternatives to choose from. Gary was very helpful and patient. I didn't want to delay the job waiting for tile to be ordered from the manufacturer. He checked availability on a bunch of different tiles with his suppliers to help us pick one that we loved and that was in stock locally. Job progressed quickly. Pool was drained. New tile installed (2 man team, 1 day). Base coat was applied to pool (1 man, 1 day). Diamond Brite was applied by an army of guys (I think there were 6 or seven, 1 day). Pool was filled (water was filtered to minimize issues with metals and minerals in the city water used to fill the pool). Mike was responsible for fire up of the pool. Chemicals were checked / adjusted and the pool brushed (daily initially, but tapered off as things stabilized). Pool looks great. I think it looks better than when it was new.
Description of Work: Resurfaced pool (Diamondbrite). Replaced waterline tile and step cap tiles.

Description of Work: iv been with ike carter for over 15 years and they were great untill the last year when i think the owner passed away. now the techs switch regularly and leave a mess behind. I dont have an easy pool to clean . whenever you call you go thru a maze of directions on the phone and leave a messege nobody returns the call. Lately they raised the price to 100 for monthly service and 95 for direct from your checking account. with the change in price i was 5 dollars short and they said i was 30 days late and charged me 9 in interest and then carried it over again the next month from the previous and everything continues this way a mess

+ -1 moreThe company contacted me for an appt. He came on a Sat because of my schedule. We talked about the scope of work which included a leak repair, tile replaced, and refinish the pool. The price was in line. All went as planned. The work was done well and timely. Any delays were caused by me. They worked around that and were very good about communicating. After refilling the pool, their service department came right out and stabilized the pool, did all of the necessary maintenance. I was impressed by this process and hired them to do my weekly service. I would reuse them in the future.

+ -1 moreOverall the repair project went far better than I had hoped at what I consider to be a very reasonable price. The story started with Glen and I chatting about how much chlorine he was adding every week and how much water I had been adding to keep the pool full. We both decided the water loss was far too excessive for evaporation. This conversation set in motion the leak repair process of finding the leak, estimating repairs, repairing the leak and then restoring the brick decking to as close to original as possible. During the entire process, Ike's Carter team of professionals took care of everything in a timely manner and at the estimated cost. Now, the pool isn't leaking, the brick deck where the repair took place looks great, and most importantly the pool looks beautiful.
Description of Work: Ike's Carter Pool Service has been maintaining our pool for years, but only recently (due to lengthy out of state travel) did I fully realize the level of quality service that they have been providing. Ike's Carter provides both weekly maintenance and repair services. This review speaks to a recent repair, but their weekly service, performed by Glen, is extraordinary. I've never seen pool water this incredibly clear, and I've seen many pools. But I digress, we had a substantial leak in the pool, and after a call to their offices they quickly sent out Chris to find the leak, of which there were two. The bad one was in a return line and under the brick decking, and he was able to fix the small one in the skimmer bucket at that time. Within a day or two another gentleman came out with some sound/sonar equipment and located the exact location under the brick. Shortly following that Mike Coons came out to work up an estimate and arrange to temporarily reroute the return line, so we could circulate the water without loosing any more through the leak. Now I'm thinking "great their going to have to rip up a big chunk of the brick deck and they'll never be able to match the old brick" When I received the estimate, I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable cost. Little did I know that the real surprise was yet to come. Chris came out to do the digging, repairing and re-pouring, and he did so in such a way that the cuts were along the grout lines of the brick and the coping. This careful work left only a relatively small hole and pulled up only five bricks. I was quite relieved when I saw this. Then a few days later Robert came out to finish the project and lay the new bricks. Rob had found some old matching bricks somewhere and they were almost a perfect match. After inspecting the finished work, I was absolutely amazed at the quality. If it weren't for the new grout, which will darken in time, you would never know that work had even been done.

+ -1 moreBruce said that Gary would be coming out, the following day but would call first. Gary called but then made up an excuse and said he would call me back tomorrow. This is the last I've heard from anyone and it's been over one week! Perhaps these guys are good at what they do once they start working. But I got nothing but lies and "the run around" from these clowns. From what I could tell, this was too small a job to interest them. But rather than just telling me so, they had to lie their way out of it. VERY DISTURBING!!
Description of Work: I chose this company based solely on it's "A" rating on Angie's List. I was told someone would come out, by the end of the week, to give me an estimate. But I had to keep calling because nobody ever came out or called. I finally received a call from Bruce, telling me he been to my house and looked at the broken niche around the pool light. I told him that nobody had been here at all! Bruce said, "You have dogs and a fenced-in pool, right? (I told him this, the first time I called). I said "Yes, but that the gates are locked and there is no way he could have gone in without my knowledge and without being attacked by my dogs!" Bruce then said, "Oh, it must have been a different house!" RIGHT!!
