Home Repairs by Jerry

Jerry made sure we got the right material which would hold up now and in the future to the behavior of my birds. He also thought of alternatives for the best placement. Since we couldn't find what we needed at Home Depot, we went to a provider Jerry had worked with in the past. They had the perfect material. Jerry got enough to start the job since we had an immediate need. He left instructions for the rest of the material to be cut exactly so he could install it about a week later. Jerry was very aware of the price of the material and did all he could to keep my expenses as low as possible, yet provide quality. We are very happy with the looks and the effectiveness of the solution he created.

Horribly disappointing. Makes it difficult to trust Angie's List reviewers,

When I called Jerry he was working at a job a few blocks away from me, he offered to come over after his job was finished to look at the walls, see what my job entailed. He said it would need 3 coats of a sealant #20, then would need sanding, and that he could do the job the following Saturday. He said he would be at my house at 9am. He arrived at (9:45 without any supplies), saying he forgot what he would need. He left to go to Home Depot (about 5 minutes from my house). When he hadn't come back almost an hour later I called him to make sure he was OK, wasn't lost. He said he was almost back at my house, said he had to go home to get some things. Right outside my driveway the bag of plaster broke, all over his truck, the street, and some on the driveway. He cleaned up the plaster that was on my driveway. After working awhile in the bathroom with the plaster for about half an hour, he came out and said he had a better idea that would be faster and easier. He said if he used 1/4 inch drywall it would be a much faster, easier and mbetter job. so he left for Home Depot again. After awhile he came back with the drywall and with a helper. They then started cutting the drywall to fit the wall. He then came and told me he "forgot"to get drywall mud, and again left for Home Depot. left the helper to continue to cut the drywall. Well, they worked and worked and it seemed to go fairly slowly. I asked him at around 3 pm about how much longer it would take (to make sure I didn't have to go to the bank to get more money) and he wasn't even halfway done. Bottom line, he stopped the clock at 6 pm money-wise,but continued to work, he said he wouldn't leave before he was done. I had to tell him he HAD to reconnect the light back in the bathroom, as the wallpaper hanger wasn't going to be at my house until the following week, and we needed the use of the bathroom. Finished, it looked like a disaster. Not all the drywall was caulked, and on some walls he used several pieces of drywall, instead of one large piece cut to fit the wall. So he had to use plaster to connect the pieces of drywall. The drywall stuck so far away from the wall that the switch plates wouldn't fit back on. During the week the paperhanger had a little time and stopped by to look at the job HE had ahead of him. I swear his jaw hit the ground when he saw what the bathroom looked like. He said all we could do was take off all the drywall, have the walls sanded down. In other words, we had to UNDO everything that Jerry had done and start over. Today is the 3rd day that the wallpaper hanger and his partner have been here and the walls are now ready to be papered. I don't like to write bad reviews, and Jerry was a nice guy, but I feel not to write how badly the job was handled would be a disservice to others that would see Jerry's good reviews on Angie's List and use him. I would NOT recommend him to others

Jerry arrived on time, did everything asked of him and advised on other items we asked about. The work completed was done above expectation. We were extremely happy and will use him in the future; we have made referrals as well.

Each job was performed to our great satisfaction. We are already making a list of more things we need Jerry to do! He is a real find.

Jerry was punctual and very professional. He did everything we asked him to do including some paint job but we did not think the quality was great. Paint job detail was lacking, and there was some paint spilled on parts of the house around the area where he painted. Also, he did some electrical work that I had to re-do myself. Jerry is fair I his price, is punctual, very professional but the quality truly wasn't what I expected.

Jerry responded to my Angie's List email request on a Sunday. He scheduled the appointment for the earliest possible date. He arrived on time. He is very personable, knowledgable and professional. He works efficiently and I am extremely pleased with the quality of his work.

We've used Jerry before and he has always been an excellent craftsman that does incredible work. Besides being professional, he is also very kind and friendly. I have hired him for another job to build me a ramp since I am disabled. Jerry is a treasure!

Jerry as well as the gentleman that accompanied him on both occasions were prompt, professional and very friendly. They explained what they were doing and why. They also were careful to collect all (and there were many) screws and other small parts to ensure when my items reach there destination that all parts would be accounted for.

Plan to use Jerry again for some other projects

Jerry was prompt, friendly and efficient. He finished all tasks in a reasonable time and will be back to to some more complex jobs soon. Really god work, I'd highly recommend him.

I called Jerry, he responded immediately, we set an appointment, he arrived exactly when he said he would. He measured the old unit, traveled to store of our selection in Hollywood to pick out a replacement unit, he returned and removed the old unit and took it away with him after installing the new unit. We are pleased he did an excellent job and we would high recommend him!!! We will definitely be using him again, thank you Jerry!!

Jerry resurfaced my 400 Sq. Ft. 23 year old deck with "Restore" deck resurfacing product. He was extremely thorough and professional. I will DEFINITELY utilizes his services in the future and recommend him to family and friends!

Jerry was worried that patching the dozens (maybe hundreds) of glue spots and holes left after 40 linear feet of mirrors were removed would not look satisfactory. We decided the best approach would be to hang 1/4" sheetrock over the exiting sheetrock wherever possible and this worked out well. The walls now look brand new. Jerry repaired the walls and had the condo cleaned for us. I wanted the walls to be ready to paint when he finished. They were primed and only needed minimal work before we painted. In addition to this job, he also repaired other walls and ceilings in the condo where there was some damage. It was a big job and overall I am very happy with the results. Jerry is an honest businessman. I was satisfied with the results and his communication throughout the project.

Everything went very well. Jerry worked efficiently, pleasantly and knowledgably. This is the second time I have used Jerry and I have recommended him to a neighbor who was also very pleased. He is my "go to" handyman from now on.

Jerry did all the tasks on my list. He is very tidy about picking up and finishing to your satisfaction. He is honest and will tell you if it's a job he cannot do.

I was very happy with Jerry's work. He even pulled his body weight up by the plate of the fan to demonstrate that it was being held solidly in place. He brought the necessary materials to rehang the fan properly and even finished early enough to tackle a smaller job as well. He was very professional and trustworthy and I would certainly use him again in the future.

Jerry was very responsive. I asked for him to come on a particular day and he did. He was very friendly and super efficient. He quickly completed all the tasks I wanted done in a short time and for a very reasonable price. I had hired another handyman before Jerry and it was a disaster. He was slow, lazy, and spent no more than a couple of hours at my house in three days time. He completed one project. I then went to Angie's list. Would definitely recommend Jerry for any handy man job.

I called Jerry on Thursday 12/26 and he said he had a cancellation and could come Friday.Was happy about that. He came as scheduled and put up bifold doors and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. He was very nice and very conscientious about his work. He did a wonderful job and I would definitely use him again.
