HOLLY TREE SERVICE

Description of Work: Holly Tree Service was referred to me by a real estate agent. He removed and cleaned up my front and back yards. That work was OK but expensive at $850. He then proceeded to lay down soil and sod without preparing the lawn at all. He didn't kill the weeds, wait at least a week before laying the sod. I was told later by 2 other companies that is the proper way to lay sod. The grass started to die within 10 days of Harold Frank Wilson laying the sod It was particularly bad in the back yard. I called him and he came back and told me that my neighbor's back yard had chinch bugs. I asked him how he knew this since he had no access to the neighbor's yard. I called him again many times and when I finally got to talk to him he basically told me too bad. I got 2 lawn service companies in to inspect the lawn and both told me I had no chinch bugs but grass fungus and that the grass came in with it. I again called Mr. Wilson and told him what I was told about the fungus, and he again to me too bad grass was not warranted. I am now treating the front because that might be saved, but the back yard is a total loss.This is costing me $125 for the first two treatments and $70 a month to save the front. I have had 2 additional lawn services in and was told that to redo the back yard it will cost and additional $1100. They also told me that a reputable lawn service would have treated the old lawn with herbicide and waited at least 1 to 2 weeks before laying new sod. Mr. Wilson no longer returns my calls. Also, he had another gentleman fix the sprinkler system for a cost of $250. 4 of my sprinkler heads never worked, and I have had to have another sprinkler company to finally fix the system properly at a cost of another $200. I am trying to sell my house. That was the reason I wanted to lawn to give the house curb appeal. Now what potential buyers see is a dead backyard and a front yard in poor condition.
