John's serviceman Ralph told us it was to be serviced every six months. We agreed he would service it in June when would be away. He never did. When the hurricane hit and we lost power the generator did not turn on automatically. I called John who managed to talk my representative into turning it on manually. Days later, we lost power again due to a FPL problem. Again, the generator did not turn on automatically. Neither could it be turned on manually. It needed three new parts. Ralph has refused to come by to explain what went wrong. John won't return my calls. Ralph told us it needs to be turned off daily when operational, worthless for people like us who leave in the summer. It is a piece of junk and we regret buying it or using John.
Description of Work: I wanted a generator. It was operational in November 2015.

John Cramer of Henry & Co took my payment with no problem, and did send someone to install the unit when scheduled. But a week before the hurricane I called to ask him a question about the generator. He picked up the phone saying my name, and rattled off a number of someone else to call for service, and Immediately hung up on me! I called him at least 15 times after the hurricane because of course there was a problem with our Brand New generator, never to be called back by him. After a few hours I could not even leave a message b/c his mailbox was full. I texted him numerous times only to have him respond Once giving me a service mans number. I even went to the shop to try to talk to someone; no one was there! I forgot to mention, I paid an additional 1K to get a 10 year warranty on all parts and labor. Meanwhile I finally get a response from the service man and have to pay him because he does not work for Henry & Co! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY if you expect honest, dependable professional treatment. I absolutely understand companies like this were swamped before, and after a big storm like this. But if I had of been treated with just a tiny bit of courtesy after my $5000 check was cashed, I probably would have had my question answered and my generator may have worked properly during the storm. Another thing I failed to mention; the BRAND NEW generator was MISSING the part that charges the battery while it is running! So after a few hours of working, no generator, no power, no happy customer.
Description of Work: I replaced my old generator with a brand new one, including electrician to install and hook everything up.

This will be my 10th attempt to fix this issue. My parents purchased a very expensive (couple thousand dollars worth) of equipment from this company and what do you know, as soon as the hurricane hits it doesn't work. I will not stand for this company taking our hard earned money to just " ignore our phone calls and keep your voicemail full" to avoid anyone who needs your help. I will not stop posting negative reviews about your company until you make right by the situation. You can thank your recommended employer Ralph for this. You can reach me at 9546324239

There were a few hiccups with our HOA, but once that was settled work went as scheduled. They accidentally cut our sprinkler line, but they repaired it.

Description of Work: Completely replaced rotted-out generator housing, painted and sealed the base, tuned up the whole thing and generally left us with a like-new generator. Best of all, they showed up when they said they would... no small thing for S. FLA. I highly recommend them.

They advertised that they would beat any competitors price, and they did. The owner came himself and evaluated the job, recommended the equipment and setup the installation. They took care of the permitting as well and as far as I can see did a very good job. The employees seemed to care about the work they did.
Description of Work: Installed a whole house backup generator.

I was referred to Mr. John Cramer, the owner of Ideal Generators, by a close friend who employed John about a year before. I contacted John, and described what I had envisioned as emergency backup power for my home. Within a day he was at my home making a site visit. He gave me a very nicely written detailed proposal for a complete turnkey installation of the 20K generator and a buried 500 gallon propane tank. After a brief negotiation we arrived at what I considered a very fair reasonable price and payment terms. From then on John meticulously took care of every detail especially the permitting process with the City of Hollywood which took about 10-14 days. Once the City approved the plans John's crew immediately began the installation. I found the men working for John to be of the highest quality. They were very professional and very efficient. Their attention to the finest detail was very evident. They showed up to my home as promised and on time each and every day until the project was completed. At the end of each work day they cleaned up the site. The entire installation of my generator was expertly accomplished by his team with a minimal amount of inconvenience. In the end the installation was very neat and clean with an obvious attention to the smallest of details. There were no short cuts taken; every aspect was of the highest quality of workmanship. During the installation process, I interjected various ideas and requests. Both John and his crew accommodated me in every way. There was no request, large or small, that was not graciously and politely accommodated and fulfilled even beyond what I desired. To quote John, "No problem, I'll take care of it." That seemed to be the mantra of both John and his entire work crew. All during the installation John made frequent site visits, and was readily available to answer my questions via the phone anytime day or night. Once the installation was completed the City inspection went effortlessly and without any difficulty. We were approved without any significant demands by the inspector. Then the big day arrived. The switched was pushed and "the machine came alive" without the slightest hiccup. The team instructed me in the care and maintenance of the generator until they were sure that "I got it." Even well after the installation was done, John has remained readily available to quickly answer my questions when I call. During Tropical Storm Issac the electric to my community was out for 16 hours. My Generac performed flawlessly during the entire duration of the power outage. I was even able to "donate" power to my neighbor to keep his refrigerator going!!! Needless to say, I had a superb experience with Ideal Generator Sales and Service, Inc, and recommend them without any reservations. If you require a backup generator for your home or business, John Cramer and his team are the "go to guys." Mitchell B. Rosenfeld, M.D.
Description of Work: I had the installation of a 20K Generac generator and a buried 500 gal. propane tank in my backyard.
